The flex does not have a display, and is therefore very lightweight and easy to wear. Really enjoy using it and participating in competitions with friends! Great way to encourage more exercise

I have had other Fitbit trackers before but this one is the best by far. Its nice to be able to wear it all the time and not worry about getting it wet.
I love this tracker. It is easy to use and it helps me keep track of my progress for the day.
I also like the feature that tracks my sleep at night. I never realized how many times I woke up at night or was restless.
It looks good and there are several different colors to choose from.
The battery lasts for 5 days so your not charging it all the time.

I love being a part of the Fitbit community! I depend on it a lot to help me reach my weight loss goal. Not only does it track your steps but it also tracks how well you are sleeping at night.
The only down side is when exercising on an elliptical or other machines, your activity minutes are off because it doesn't capture all of your workout. I use it in conjunction with My Fitness Pal and I love that they communicate to each other!
I take showers and wash dishes with my Fitbit and my battery last up to three to four days. Another down side is the allergic reaction you may or may not have to the device. To prevent that, I change arms every two days, if I don't my wrist will start to itch!

Fits well and does well with my daily activities. It doesn't have any issues when I wash dishes or take a shower which i really like since I'm bad at putting things like this back on once I take them off. Has helped me reach my step goals that I set for myself.

I was very impressed with the ease of set up and daily use. I love that it tracks my steps, my water intake, calories burned and sleep patterns in a small, stylish little unit. I also really enjoy the chat feature and ability to stay on track with friends and family.

I really like the fitbit as a way to keep track of my steps and sleep and also to see how intense my steps are. I also like competing with my husband on steps taken. Do not wear it in the shower as I thought it was okay and have gone through three bands because of it. Although the bit itself is not affected the band can not take it. I have purchased this for a friend and also have purchased the newer and better version for my husband.

Bought the fitbit just for fun. I am actually hooked on tracking my sleep, steps etc. It's fun to get the weekly totals of your steps and calories burned etc. The bracelet is comfortable to wear, the dashboard is easy to use from your phone or tablet.

Great to monitor your steps and frequency in how you sleep. My preference is to wear the Fitbit on my Dominate wrist as I have to wear it purposefully on my non dominant wrist in order to have less issues with snapping the strap closure.
The product could be less expensive as I see the value as $65 instead of $100 (plus taxes!!!). In addition, I do like that you get an additional band. Just wished it was the same size as the one with the product.
Overall, I do love my Fitbit and wear it daily. I don't shower with it just in case something goes wrong. Other than what I've mentioned, I would highly recommended it to my friends especially is the price point was much lower.

I switched to the Fitbit Flex from the Ultra because I kept forgetting to put the Ultra back in my pocket or clip in the mornings or after charging. While the Flex doesn't track flights of stairs, it does steps, which was my key focus. I do love it and will keep using it, but a few downsides: 1) I have a windows phone and that means unless I'm near my home laptop, I have no way to track my progress throughout the day as to actual number of steps. 2) when i sleep with it on, I have problems with marks on my arm and circulation. 3) I have issues getting it to go to sleep mode. For a while, every time I clapped it went to sleep mode and then back out. Then since that conference, I can't get it to go to sleep mode at all. While I didn't buy this for sleep tracking, at the same time, it's annoying to not be able to use it.
Overall, I enjoy it and use it daily. Charge lasts a week or more so far and it's fairly accurate as to step tracking (not perfect, but good). It's water resistant, which is nice, and if I wanted to, I could switch out band colors, which is sort of fun. I like it, but if this one wears dies after the warranty period, I may try something different within the Fitbit Family again, or find one that might address the concerns I have with this one

I've owned the fitbit flex for over 3 months and it has been a terriffic motivator. If you don't know someone who has one you will have to go on line to figure out exactly how things work since there are no instructions in the carton. Here's the basics of what you need to know. Although it comes preset from the factory and the settings are pretty good you can change them if you want to. There is a small sending unit the size of a peanut that does all the work. After you place it in the USB charging device and charge it up you slide it into the wrist band and you're ready to go. You have to log onto the fitbit website and register the device. It asks for your age, height and weight but the only thing it really needs is your height because they use a formula based on your height to calculate how long your stride is so it can turn the steps it counts into "miles". You must also plug in a small USB bluetooth device (furnished) into your computer so any time you are nearby the computer and it is on it will automatically upload your steps. You can also add a fitbit app to your mobile device so you can see your steps and update your miles on the fly. The website shows how many steps you took, miles traveled and calories burned for the current day plus a 7 day rolling average. It also can show you the last 30 days history as well. If you want to have a competition you can join one of the already existing fitbit clubs or you can create your own group by "friending" people you know. There is a spot on the website where you enter a friends email address and fitbit will send them an invitation. There are privacy settings that allow you to share all, some or none of your information. It comes out of the box with most everything set to "private" except your daily and weekly step totals. You can choose whether you want to share your other info such as you age, weight, picture, etc, etc. I have been competing with several people that average about the same number of steps I do each day and each of us have stepped it up a notch (pun intended). For the first two months I only lost 2 pounds but then something happened and I started shedding pounds. It has now been 3 1/2 months and I lost an additional 9 pounds and am down to the weight I want to be at. There are 5 lights on the wristband and it comes preset so each light represents 2,000 steps. You tap the wristband twice and the lights turn on in a sweeping motion and then either 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 lights light up telling you your progress. When you achieve 10,000 steps the wristband lights up and vibrates for a couple of seconds to alert you to the fact you achieved your daily goal. I reset mine to 15,000 steps because it kept going off early in the day but my freind who is somewhat out of shape set hers to 5,000 steps and she plans to increase it once she consistantly hits 5,000 per day. The fitbit also records your sleep. Prior to getting into bed you tap the wristband quickly about 5 or 6 times in a row until lights 2 and 4 light up for a second indicating you are in sleep mode. It's kind of tricky at first and you're not really sure if you are in sleep mode but eventually you get the hang of it. To confirm you are in sleep mode you can tap the wristband twice (and only twice) If you are in sleep mode you will see lights 2 and 4 light up. If you are in awake mode you will see lights 1 through 5 light up in succession and then a row of lights light up showing how many steps you have traveled. Don't lay down with you hand over your head and try to tap it into sleep. You arm has to be in normal posture mode, not upside down. The wrist band is water resistant meaning you can leave it on when you are in the shower without a problem. I'm told you can also swim with it and some people say that's true while others have told me it stopped working so you will have to decide if you want to chance it. Lastly, if you are trying to decide if you should buy a clip on model vs an arm band I have heard a number of people complain that the clip on one falls off your body without you knowing it or you take it off and misplace it so I would recommend the wrist band.

I bought this for my wife. She uses it daily. The battery life lasts a long time. It does a great job tracking her sleep and walk/run activities. She is in nursing so she's always on her feet and thus the step tracking helps her out.

I've been using the Fitbit Ultra for a year and now switched to Flex because of its ease of use. You wear it like a wristband, and you only need to remove it to recharge. With the Ultra, you had to clip it onto your clothes for it to track your activity. If you're forgetful (like me), it's easy to leave it in a pocket and spend hours looking for it later. With the Flex, you snap it around your wrist and you can forget that it's there. There's less chance of losing it. To track sleep activity with the Ultra, I had clip it into a velcro wristband that came with the original packaging. Since the Flex is worn on the wrist, all you have to do is tap it continuously for a few seconds to activate the sleep tracker.
I have 2 major gripes with the Flex. When it comes to iPhones, it's only compatible with 4S or newer. I have an iPhone 4, and cannot sync the Flex wirelessly on my phone. Which means, the Fitbit app is completely useless to me. I am only able to sync the Flex on a computer with the USB dongle.
NOTE: Make sure you check the smart phone compatibility list before you decide if Flex is right for you.
My second complaint is that it does not track how many floors you've climbed. That would have been a nice feature to have.
If you don't have a smart phone, or don't to constantly monitor your activity on your phone, I would recommend getting Fitbit One instead. One is the updated version of Ultra. Everything is displayed on the device itself, plus, you can check the time, input custom greetings, and watch your activity flower grow, grow and grow!

Easy to use, motivates you to move more. Tracks calories burned, steps, sleep etc. Great battery life. Only complaint is I accidentally switch into sleep mode if I clap quickly or am using power tools (vibration switches it).

I switched to the Flex after I lost my Fitbit Zip. It is easy to use and change. I keep the charger by the bed and charge it about every 4-5 days. Other nights I use it to monitor my sleep. It works great and looks good on my wrist. I wish it had a more detailed display showing me how many steps today instead of just a row of lights. That functionality was in the Force which was removed from the market. But it does have the 5 lights that show me within 2000 steps where I am in the day. Which is really all I need at 3:00 PM.

I have used the FitBit Flex for about 3 days now and so far I really do love it. I have no used any other activity tracker before but this one was super easy to set up. There isn't much to it and the simplistically of the tracker makes it very comfortable on the wrist. The band is very flexible and easy to wear and I am used to wearing bracelets so I don't even feel it on. I have connected it to my Galaxy S3 and it is very easy to connect and sync so I can see my activity levels in a snap. The fitbit app for my galaxy s3 is easy to use as well and it does feel like it would be easy to track food and other activity in the app on a daily basis.
The battery on the Flex seems to work great. I have used it for 3 days now and there was still at least a 60% charge. Its very easy to pop the actual tracker out of the bracelet and charge with my USB port on my computer while I'm writing this review.
The only drawback that I have come across is the fact there there is no instruction manual with the item in the box. It is all online and you go to fitbit website to get a step by step set up which is pretty self explanatory. A PDF download for instructions online would be nice but I did find everything that I needed for setup on the website and I am really liking this item. I feel that it will help me realize how active I am and motivate me to get up and get moving.
Then online website can get very in-dept with your food intake, activity levels, even your water intake and blood glucose levels can be added to the dashboard to help with tracking purposes. All around a great product. I hope they come out with more colors for the bracelets I would buy different colors and change them out if it was sold.

I had been waiting for the fitbit flex to come out for months and went to Best Buy to purchase the day it released in the market.
I am using it to track steps, activity, food, water, sleep, and exercise in an effort to be more active and lose weight.
LOVE this thing...it is very accurate when tracking steps! Has made me much more aware of the fact that i need to get up and move around at the office on breaks and lunches to get to the 10k step goal daily.
The sleep feature is awesome! Comforable to wear all day and night and the vibrating alarm is super as it wakes me and not my husband. I have no sensitivity issues with the band on my sensitive skin.
Cannot wait to get the other band colors as well!
The only drawbacks i have found is that if you leave the bluetooth syncing on with your mobile device the fitbit only holds a charge for about 2 days.
This only comes with a charger for your computer and not a wall charger....big drawback here as I am not always around a computer and it is not compatible with other usb chargers that i have found yet.
The food database is limited and i find myself having to add a lot of food manually.
The band sizes are limited and not very accurate...there is a small and large...the small almost fits me and the large is more like a medium. One of my friends that would be a large it barely fits....
Overall i would really recommend that fitbit make a few modifications to this fabulous device - But i would buy it again in a heartbeat.
