My wife is in the Army and wanted something more substantial than her Fitbit Flex, so she would not need to wear a watch as well as the Fitbit and so she could monitor a greater range of vitals. The Surge has been everything she hoped for and more - it is easy to use, functional, comfortable, and accurate.

The FitBit Surge is an excellent unit. Great watch, tracks steps, stairs, everything. Easy to use by itself or with laptop and mobile apps. I wish it had a couple more exercise settings, like gardening and dance. But you can work with what it offers.

The ease of use, accuracy and app + website are all INCREDIBLE. Daily challenges, weekly challenges and social media integration make this SuperWatch exactly that- SUPER. I have had the Jawbone, Jawbone24, original FitBit and the Basis Peak Carbon Steel- blows all of those out of the water.

I was looking for a fitness tracker that included GPS and the on-wrist heartbeat sensor. The Fitbit Surge is easy to use, and once you connected it to your computer automatically transfers the data. Battery life is satisfactory to go multiple days. If they would have used a standard connector for recharging it would have been even better.

I had the fitbit charge before the surge. I liked it and wanted to upgrade for the heart monitor. It has proven to be very accurate. I like the alarm and sms notifications on and most importantly it is sweat proof.

Gets the job done, steps, floors, calories and even HR! I love that the watch is always on whenever you need the time/date. You don't need to press anything just to see the time, it's always there! I love that there are different watch faces to choose from. I'm sad that there isn't a watch face display with a second hand. I work in healthcare so it's one of the necessities I wish it had. But the timer is a nice alternative. The silent vibrating alarm isn't enough to wake me up but I'm hoping fitbit comes up with possible updates in the future (as well as new watch faces to choose from!). It gets the job done! Was looking into getting this one vs. the apple watch but I'm really glad I chose the fitbit surge instead!

Device features work as advertised. Use time between charges slightly less than the claims, but has been good enough for my needs. A nice all-around fitness tracker if you have multiple needs.

I Have been a fitbit user for years now and by far this is the best one. The only thing is that I wish it was waterproof like the flex so I could wear it in the shower. No biggie still give it 5 stars. the best & most accurate tracker in my opinion

I bought the Fitbit Surge primarily for medical reasons (continuous heart rate monitoring). I'm not a runner, so the "GPS" tracking isn't something I use. I bought the Surge over the Charge to have a larger viewing screen, to see more data "on" the watch. I'm an average size woman (5'8"; not overweight, not tiny), and I'm VERY glad I bought the "small" size of the Surge... it doesn't need to be tight (even snug) to work really well, as FB does state... I fasten it on the 3rd hole, allowing the "excess band" enough slack to just fit perfectly into the rubber ring that secures the excess band together. A "LARGE" size would be too big for most woman, resulting in a lot of excess band wrapping around the outside of the "watch". Mine looks good, without screaming "I'm an athlete obsessed with 24hr tracking". The vast majority of this device's worth (and most setup/programming functions) happens (is experienced) on the free Fitbit android phone app (downloaded from play store). The HR and sleep monitoring functions have wonderful utility and various choices of display WITHIN the app. Bravo. Even my treating cardiologist valued the ability to see the historical data, including in graphs, up to a year, ON MY PHONE (but remember, this IS NOT a precise medical devise)... but it's great to see trends or big changes, very valuable to me/my doc to assess if changes to my heart medicine were going the right direction). BUT, I withheld 1 star, as you cannot PRINT or download your data (raw, or even the just the beautiful graphs the FB software displays for you). I have to take "screen shots" of my app displays and email them to my printer... VERY limiting and a HUGE drawback. On FB forums, blogs, etc. users have been asking for this (ability to at least PRINT) for a LONG time, over 18mos. Unacceptable. This data is usually the reason we buy THIS product over more sophisticated "smart watch" wearables (which now also monitor continuous HR too), along with the Surge's long battery life (I get 4 to 5 days before needing to recharge... using continuous HR all of the time). Please fix this!

This tracker does everything you need it to do! Tracks sleep, the app can count calories, water intake, steps, miles, Heart Rate (so you know it's accurate). The only thing it's missing is a GPS, but since I'm not a distance runner, it's perfect for me. A little pricey up front but it's well worth it.

This Surge is amazing! It tells me everything I need to know. I love that I can customize the exercise that I want the Surge to keep track of. Before now, I've had to use a separate GPS tracker, a separate heart monitor, and a watch. Now it's all in one on my wrist and I'm in love! Thanks Fitbit!

Although the price will set you back $250, it is worth it. To have a fitness watch that will send you text/call notifications, track your HR,track: running, hiking, bike, Yoga even & much more.. I think is totally worth it. I use it for training and will not wear it during any race. You get addicted to looking at your time/pace/calories. lol One of my most fave is the notifications, my phone is always in my pocket, or camel bak so to be able to look at my wrist its great. You need to make sure bluetooth is on & that it has sync otherwise it will not work. I have been using it for about a month, I love that it syncs automatically no need to plug in or download. yes its a little bulky and wearing long sleeves with it can be uncomfortable (but you find a way to make it work).

I bought this with the initial intention of being much healthier. I absolutely love that it has a clock feature so that I always know what time it is as I am NOT one to wear a watch on any given day. This is so comfortable that I could wear it every single day and oftentimes forget I'm even wearing it in the first place. It seems to be pretty accurate especially with sleeping. I also have a very petite wrist and was concerned that this would be too big for me. It fits perfectly without looking too bulky or too large for my wrist.

I wanted to like this fitbit. I bought it for my wife for Christmas. She was a big lover of the original fitbit which was starting to show some wear, so it was only natural to upgrade to the best. Unfortunately, the best also appears to be the biggest. It was huge on her wrist. Too big. Sure, it has a lot of cool features and the battery life is amazing for a "smart" watch / fitness tracker. But at the end of the day, it was just too big. We returned it.

The Fitbit Surge paired with the Fitbit app have already helped me and my wife lose 8 lbs in just 2 weeks. The key is continous monitoring of the Heart Rate. Knowing exactly how many calories you burn throughout the day will set the proper amount you need to consume to stay on a good diet. It give motivational reminders, badges for accomplishments, and let's you know exactly how your doing calorie wise throughout the day. It's like having a personal trainer on your wrist.

bought a fitbit first for my wife, but she liked the full look of the surge as it most resembles a traditional watch - does everything its supposed to do - the only con is it has to be removed to be charged (which she does not mind) but I would prefer one with a battery that is replaced yearly - thus the 4 stars instead of 5
