    Amazing product

We just purchased this for my son who is entering high school and they have a "bring your own device" program which allows students to utilize the internet and google docs etc in class. We love it and he loves it. It is on the smaller end but the screen picture is very clear and the quality is nice. It is a great chromebook. It is efficient and the flip option is an amazing feature which he seems to utilize a lot. A+

    Great but...

Honestly the screen is beautiful and it works great but the usb ports are way too tight. Asus says this isnt normal so its defective. I read a lot of reviews online that says this is a common issue. Tight ports are ok but my flash drives wouldnt go in even half way. I returned it. If it wasnt for that I would give it a 5

By far the best chromebook on the market

This chromebook is still a chromebook, and includes all of the limitations of the operating system. However, the build quality and attention to detail that ASUS has put into this product is amazing. The aluminum body is very solid and doesn't have any give. The keyboard is a joy to type on. Overall, a very solid and easily recommendable device for anyone looking for a portable word processor/web browser.

This little computer is a perfect starter computer! Got this for my 8yr old little brother and he loves it! It is touch screen and the screen flips around. Only thing is he can't find all of his favorite apps on the google play store(the only store available for download on this computer)

Skeptical? Wondering how good can it be at this price? Worry not. You'll love it! I was looking for a small computer for travel and home use. Simple stuff, facebook and e mail. Something to take to the diner besides my kindle. Asus nailed it on this one. Bright clear screen, easy to use. Yes, the keys are small, but you get used to it. Battery life is extraordinary. Light as a feather. If you're looking for the basics, this Asus can't be beat.

    Great for web browsing

This little chromebook has been great for web browsing and watching netflix! I can have as many as 9 youtube tabs open and playing before it starts to lag. Small problem trying to cast a tab from the chromebook to a chromecast device (but after reading online, that might be our router...) but can still cast netflix and hbo go! Simple to use and would reccommend to anyone!

    Cute Little Bugger

I bought this little thing for writing, reading and movie/TV watching in bed, and it is perfect. The keyboard is a perfect fit for my hands, and I can write for hours. The audio quality is better than any other laptop I have used. Screen quality is excellent, but I would suggest getting a protector ASAP, because it attracts dust like crazy. It's battery life is about ten hours, and it charges up lightning fast even if you're using it. I like being able to fold it every which way. If you have any tabs open with HTML5, be prepared for it to run out of memory. With a small amount of RAM, this is not unexpected. The only think I would change is the track pad. It responds well to your finger moving across it, but it has no left/right buttons. You need to use a firm hand to click anything. But since it has a touch screen and is mouse compatible, that is not a big issue. I love it.

    Chrome keeps crashing

    Posted .

I really wanted to love this chromebook, as it is my third one, and I had been looking forward to a touch screen version. My son broke (yet another) laptop, an Acer Chromebook I purchased for him last year for college. I gave him my HP 14 inch Chromebook as a replacement and used that as an excuse to purchase this new ASUS touch screen version for me. Google Chrome has crashed now three times in about 5 hours of usage. I have owned and used an HP and an Acer Chromebook and have never had this happen. Not sure if this is an ASUS problem, or if it is the updated Chrome OS, but I will be returning this Asus product. In addition to the crashing, I am just not liking this tiny keyboard. It's just too small, and so is the screen. I would be much happier with this product if it was just a couple of inches larger, and I'd have been willing to pay an additional $50 for a larger product. Kudos to Asus for the innovation, but this product needs some improvement. I just ordered a replacement for my 14 inch HP that I gave to my son.

    poor wifi performance

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Great little machine, nice fit and finish, but the wifi antenna is very weak. I know the wifi in my house isn't the best, but where my phone (I tested with just the wifi on) and other devices perform adequately on my wifi network, this Asus Chromebook only works in one room in my house. Worst part - while some web pages load very slowly, the Google pages (Drive, Gmail, search) fail to load entirely and return an error message. This is with three out of four bars of wifi signal! I've also noticed that flipping the screen over into tablet mode blocks the wifi signal even more! If it is this bad at home, what will it be like in coffee shops, airports, and trade shows? Looks like I will be taking this one back. Disappointed, because in every other respect it is great. Asus, if you are going to make a device that is entirely dependent on wifi, the wifi needs to work really really well!

Great for looking things up on the internet as long as you are not trying to use several tabs. Very slow if more than three tabs are open at once. Very lightweight. Great for travel.

    It's nice and compact BUT..

I love the style and how it flips into a tablet BUT....I've had mine for about 12 hours and it has already turned off and froze 3 times. I used to have a little Acer chromebook and it worked perfectly...still going actually after 3 years...so I'm curious how long this one will go if it's already having issues after a day!

    System Crash Alert

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I brought my Asus Chromebook in September of 2015 and it was great for the first month. This in not a tablet that you can use for heavy duty usage. It's not even a tablet that you can use for moderate usage. It constantly freezes and when it's not freezing it has a blinking screen. After every update, the blinking screen happens. I bought it knowing fully that it's just an internet computer.I did not expect to have a blinking screen that always crashes. I have gotten the Aww Snap page well over 10 times a day 4 times in an hour sometimes. Buyer beware when purchasing this product that it is for light use.
