If you have never seen this movie and are a Sci Fi buff this is a must have for your collection. The story line is extremely engaging and imaginative. You will be very impressed with the special effects considering this movie was made over fifty (thats 50) years ago. I have had this movie in my collection one way or the other (TV recording, VHS and now DVD) for the last 20 years. When I pull it out and watch it, I am amazed all over again by the story line and special effects.

I remember my parents taking my brother and I to see this movie at a drive-in and it really peaked my intrests. When I recieved it in the mail, I watched it and it took me back to that drive in. Its well done for its time, the color is good and the storyline is good also. I watched the whole thing straight thru. I would reccomend this to everyone. Worth buying.

I saw this when it was originally released in the theaters and wondered why no sequel was ever made. Definitely outstanding for its time.

I watched this film because I'd heard it was an adaptation of The Tempest. It turns out it is an incredibly loose adaptation but is still credible in it's own right. Certainly, check out this film if you are interested in classic science fiction. It also has an interesting example of the portrayal of women in sci-fi at the time. It really is a great film that has not stood the test of time entirely, but certainly has not become obsolete.

Loved the movie and loved seeing it in HD. Robbie the Robot and the technology reflected in the movie was great considering when the movie was made.

This is a classic film that should be seen by all lovers of Science Fiction and Classical literature.

Earliest of the "modern" sci-fi flicks. Way ahead of its time and holds up today

The Blu Ray version of this movie has great picture quality.
