after playing forspoken for almost 40 hours, frey's powers are the powers i would want if i were a superhero. this game makes you feel like you could conquer the world in record time. the speed and ease with which you can traverse the enormous world is satisfying on its own, and when you add the combat to that the game becomes a complete joy. the only downside is that you start out with very few powers and spells, so it takes about 2-3 hours before you really unlock your true potential. if you can make it through the opening act you'll be glad you did. i love the feel of the haptic feedback as i run and jump like some kind of overpowered sonic the hedgehog and face huge hordes of enemies like superman on steroids. this game doesn't deserve the flack its gotten in critical reviews.

Absolutely fantastic game. Smooth combat that is easy, enjoyable and fun. Loads of side quests and a world full of puzzles and events to explore. Hidden bosses that on hard mode can feel almost like a souls level boss. Excellent traversal and movement. A fun story with some emotional moment. A excellent new Square Enix IP. Definitely play. 8.8-9/10. Sadly this experience was only tarnished by the fact that I still have gotten no Steelbook yet Best Buy promised it. I wish another company offered the Steelbooks. If you’re like me and enjoy editions like this don’t expect them to be safe shipping or even trust you’ll get one if you choose store pickup. Do better Best Buy please

Seriously underrated game with a compelling story and a wonderful magic based system of combat.
Only gripe is the Whedon-esque dialogue that gets old, and the inability to switch off certain HUD elements to tailor the game to your enjoyment. The open world although impressively expansive, can sometimes be overwhelming if you are a completionist.

Been wanting to play this game but the reviews put me off. Decided to give it a chance and I was surprised how good it is. The graphics, the combat and the traversal ar top notch. A bit short but that's what I like in a game. Worth every penny.

This game has been very popular to hate on but it isn't bad at all. Sure the lighting was pretty bad on release, but that has been fixed through a patch. Granted this game does not look as good as the reveal trailer but it still looks fine to me. I'm more of a person that values gameplay over graphics and story. That being said if you are the opposite then you might not have a good time with this one.
A lot of people criticize the main character as annoying, but I find her relatable. Can't realistically expect a person to have a "bubbly" personality if they've been struggling most of their life. Frey is a broken protagonist and it shows. Frankly I find her character refreshing compared to the typical bend over backwards for anyone hero.
The combat is fun and so is traversal. You get access to tons of spells throughout this game and they all get more interesting as the story progresses.

This game had quite a lot of promise to its premise but the execution kinda fell on its face. But it isn’t a bad game, just not worth full price. I got it for $20, and for that price I was very much happy with it.
Gameplay is solid, environments can be empty but locals quite beautiful. Voice acting is nothing to write home about and facial animations can be wonky.

Not Bad at All

Contrary to what some people say, not a bad game at all. I think that most people go in expecting something akin to Horizon, forgetting the fact that this is a Jrpg(Luminous Stuidos, which is the same studio that made Final Fantasy XV). Aspects of its JRPG-ness shows with the pacing and story at times. This game was preordered for me as a Christmas present from my brother so I kind of went in blind. The dialogue may get a bit “meh” at times, but combat and exploration more than makes up for it. Combat is pretty fast paced and offers a variety spells. Love the parkour transversal and exploring the world, some of the scenery is really nice. There’s a nice little crafting system that adds new items and upgrades as you progress the story or find items. I like that you can customize your cloaks, necklaces, and nails. All in all, not much to complain about, a patch note fixed problems with lighting and such. If you’re interested give it a try, you could be surprised by it.

The game played pretty wonky on release but the most recent patch did something to make the game feel great! The combat and the traversal mechanics are super satisfying. The characters outside of the protagonist aren't the most intriguing but the story is very solid. Definitely recommend!

Thr game is about as rough around the edges as any other game people hype about...really fun to play, huge open world and plenty of magic fun! Game has a lot of talking in the beginning but once your pass all that its worth a play. Story isnt bad maybe just a better excution...love talking to my buddy "vambrace"

I actually like this game. I appreciated that they put a demo out to play before release date. Anyone that didn’t like this game should have already known what they would get. I like the freedom of movement and her acrobatic moves simply look dope. Unfortunately, this game has terrible writing just like a plethora of great successful games. The writing leaves a lot to be desired. I forgive the game for some of the cheese one liners etc. if you’re in the web at all, you’ve already seen the worst of the worst takes. I say give this game a closer look. Some might actually enjoy the gameplay enough that the funny stuff just gets better with age like the film “The Room” lol. Seriously, I bought this day one and I love my steelbook. This girl is cool. She has a problem and it’s that she treats everyone with disrespect and I mean eveyone! That’s all folks. But it on sale. Don’t be one of those people who troll things they’ve never even played.

Granted the $70 price feels excessive and unless you want this now, wait for a sale.
That said, I rather enjoyed it.
Gameplay and Traversal was a lot fun.
Frey as a character given her background and struggles made sense to me and I liked her honestly.
Like I said, if you want to hold off until its more reasonably priced, please do.
But I encourage you to give this game a try when you can.

First of all the game itself is a ton of fun, combat is a lot of fun, traversal is great…if you are a fan of open world action rpgs then this is a must play. But its not without some minor drawbacks..there are frame rate drops in graphically intense scenes throughout the game, not many but they are there. The frame drops are the only draw back hence the 4 out of 5

I don't get the hate people have for this game. The gameplay is really fun, the story is decent, and I like the characters. It also feels like one of the few true PS5 titles. Load times are almost non existent and it runs beautifully in 120 hz mode on my monitor. It's like a solid 7.5/10

Forspoken is a great open-world game that allows you to traverse across the world with special powers that you can upgrade, allowing the player to change their load-outs. The game may have had a few flaws when it released but the recent patches have removed the problems that were at the beginning of its launch.
There's just so much to do while also fighting off creatures. Highly recommend it!

Don’t let the reviews fool you this is a game you have to experience yourself and not let ppl who haven’t real pit in the time tell you how this game is… it may have it flaws but it’s worth the time to see the world of Forspoken and the combat is amazing once you put the time in to unlock and see what’s really there…. So if you still on the fence after reading this you can wait to when it’s around $30 but you will most definitely miss out on an incredible Steelbook if yiu do so take a chance you will not regret it… I haven’t!!!

Overall grat game despite the hate for its dialogue. Wide open world with much to do and collect as well as fast paced combat and awesome bosses. Story starts off slow at first but then ramps up fast after that, but felt a lack of development until the end
