    Cellular service through FreedomPop company

The offer looks very attractive if you are in business to save money on your cell phone service. Unfortunately, they don't tell you the whole picture from the very beginning. After you start installing, you find that there is a $29.99/yr. if you want to have some Technical Support. It costs you to start the service another $9.99. To talk to someone is horrible. It takes you through a maze of robots, until you get exhausted. Instructions to install the program is written by an unprofessional, and don't take you too far. They didn't tell you upfront that the connection is VoIP. To make the connection for the data is an unending task, and people don't look too friendly, if you finally find someone to talk! If I knew that, most likely, I wouldn't have bought it. Customer Service is deplorable, particularly when it's about a new customer. How could I advise someone to go through what I did! After more than two weeks, I could not fix my wife's Iphone. It seems that this company does care only to cell the SIM card, then "tough luck"! I am terrible surprised and frustrated! If I went through this problem, I wonder what will someone without any knowledge of computers and electronics will go through!

I bought the Freedompop 12-month SIM card from Bestbuy at Atlantic Avenue mall. It was very easy to set up, and was just what I needed: data for 12 months, very cheap (less than $5 a month!). There are two drawbacks to it though: first, I would really like to be able to add extra data only for one particular month, if I see that I'm running out. I would gladly pay something reasonable for it (i.e. $5-$10 per GB). However, there is no such option! If I run out of data, I have to buy their more expensive yearly plan. Another issue that may be just AT&T-related: my phone does not have all the US LTE frequencies, so in some areas it only works as 3G (Entire New York City, for example). 3G speeds are fine with me. However, in some parts of NYC, the 3G doesn't work AT ALL. I have to walk maybe 10 blocks for my data to work again.

So, the package had the ID number for the SIM which did not match the SIM. It took MANY calls to FP customer service to get that clear. Unsure of that is BB's or FP's fault, but maddening, as was FP's tendency to redirect my calls without listening AT ALL to the problem details including my prior interactions (I tried to provide a ticket number to facilitate, and they would just read their script over my protestations not to transfer me yet. It now does work, but not terribly well. Phone updates erase some of the info necessary for the app to work properly, so it must be re-entered with each update. Were I not economically stuck right now, I would ditch this in favor of another carrier.

I bought this SIM as an extra line for one of my children, and it was a great decision. I'm saving literally hundreds of dollars per year by using FreedomPop. Just pop it in in an unlocked phone and off you go! I'm using an unlocked Honor 7X GSM phone, and the combination is simply amazing. The only thing is that every extra service comes literally at an extra charge: extra data, voicemail, data rollup, etc. But as long as you keep an eye open towards the data you use every month, and stay withing the monthly data limits, you simply can't go wrong with this card.

You get a lot of service for $50 per YEAR ($40 on sale.) Not quite as reliable as a regular premium cell phone service but most times can't tell the difference. Very occasionally times where the voice breaks up and you can't be understood. Biggest issue for me personally is when driving and constantly switching between wi-fi and data, the messaging app crashes (lose the ability to place and receive calls till you restart the app) and then I'm unreachable. That could be my phone software that i have modified without being an expert If money is tight and you're not a heavy phone user, this does the job well

If you want perfection you will be disappointed, but if you want savings, especially for a child's phone, this is great. We got it set up easily. Texting worked fine. The first call we couldn't answer because the screen was black. After googling this problem I found this is common on the Galaxy S4. I had to take the phone apart and clean the motion sensor with a qtip and rubbing alcohol....twice. But it's been working fine for the last several weeks. Sometimes the call quality is shaking, but overall, for the price, very pleased.

I brought it thinking this had to be to good to be true, but to my surprise I was wrong. One sim card that last for one whole and 1 GB of data every month, I tried it out and was in love with it. Since I don't used my phone that much it was perfect match for me. I have recommended it to friends and family who are paying too much for a service that they don't use a lot of data.

I was unemployed since last year and even before then I've planned to switch service but lacked the opportunity to try due to excessive preoccupation. However after careful research and applying effort into installing this service it was difficult setting up an effective use of the plan but I've adapted to its convenience without fear of resplendent expenditure.

ATT network, trying out because Sprint does not work. Activation is easy and fast. Phone number porting is not as easy but possible. Customer support cost extra but is free online via trouble ticket system, slow. Freedompop does not refund money, so dont expect refunds. But, once setup, all is well. Aps are good too, and phone actually works where Sprint does not.

Works great as long as you have a wifi connection. Would be a whole lot better if the unlimited calls/texts worked without internet. I think the unlimited texts/phone calls is false advertisement. They only work while data is on or you have WiFi. 1GB of data will not last long when you have to use it to make your calls and send your texts.

I bought this for Christmas for my daughter to have the ability to get in touch with her father and I while away from home. So far it has been a great service. It was a little confusing at first but haven't had any issues really. Definitely recommend for kiddos or people who need the ability to communicate away from the house.

Had 1GB SIM for 6 months, stayed well with in the allocated data. Purchased 5GB SiM week ago, no complaints. Very good coverage in the areas that I couldn't get before with other carriers. Only downside is that there is no tethering as the phone verifying subscription status. Some phones probably bypass that check.

Received what I expected. I used freedompop's free service for a long time. But they started to charge credit card. So I cancelled them and bought this. This one doesn't require to have a credit on file. This can be activated after receiving the kit. So no days goes to waste.

I have only had the service for about a month but so far I am very pleased. I am a fairly light data user so I can get by easily on 5GB per month. Unlimited calls and txt are working as advertised. Voice mail works fine too.

The sim card purchased at Best Buy - activation was easy and no credit card details asked. Selected a nice number in my area and started to use immediately. Have LTE signal everywhere and speed is fast. Very happy with my purchase.

First off, I am not a "techie", so I was expecting the entire "start up process" to be challenging. It wasn't. The instructions are easy to follow and I was up and using the devise in less than 15 minutes! Sweet!

A family member got a new phone and gifted be an LG G6. This gives me a small amount free data and calls each month but since it's not my primary phone it's adequate. Great as a backup phone.
