ATT network, trying out because Sprint does not work. Activation is easy and fast. Phone number porting is not as easy but possible. Customer support cost extra but is free online via trouble ticket system, slow. Freedompop does not refund money, so dont expect refunds. But, once setup, all is well. Aps are good too, and phone actually works where Sprint does not.

Great service at a cheap price. This really is the best option among the Freedompop prepaid Sim kits. It provides 5 GB of data every month which is more than enough for most people unless you’re streaming video and it doesn’t require a credit card be associated to your account. The only thing to watch out for is your account is set up to automatically renew after the year so if you don’t want to service you need to make sure and go in to cancel the account before the date of renewal.

Had 1GB SIM for 6 months, stayed well with in the allocated data. Purchased 5GB SiM week ago, no complaints. Very good coverage in the areas that I couldn't get before with other carriers. Only downside is that there is no tethering as the phone verifying subscription status. Some phones probably bypass that check.

So, the package had the ID number for the SIM which did not match the SIM. It took MANY calls to FP customer service to get that clear. Unsure of that is BB's or FP's fault, but maddening, as was FP's tendency to redirect my calls without listening AT ALL to the problem details including my prior interactions (I tried to provide a ticket number to facilitate, and they would just read their script over my protestations not to transfer me yet. It now does work, but not terribly well. Phone updates erase some of the info necessary for the app to work properly, so it must be re-entered with each update. Were I not economically stuck right now, I would ditch this in favor of another carrier.

Received what I expected. I used freedompop's free service for a long time. But they started to charge credit card. So I cancelled them and bought this. This one doesn't require to have a credit on file. This can be activated after receiving the kit. So no days goes to waste.

These prepaid annual sims are awesome for the price. With service on AT&T, coverage is very good. Ordering from Best Buy is just easy with quick delivery. Thanks Best Buy!

I like it because of the cost and use as a backup phone. The service is not that great and it uses app to call and use data, which is not a good option. The FreedomPop app is not great. It stops working sometimes and uses lot of devices resources.

Cellular service through FreedomPop company

The offer looks very attractive if you are in business to save money on your cell phone service. Unfortunately, they don't tell you the whole picture from the very beginning. After you start installing, you find that there is a $29.99/yr. if you want to have some Technical Support. It costs you to start the service another $9.99. To talk to someone is horrible. It takes you through a maze of robots, until you get exhausted. Instructions to install the program is written by an unprofessional, and don't take you too far. They didn't tell you upfront that the connection is VoIP. To make the connection for the data is an unending task, and people don't look too friendly, if you finally find someone to talk! If I knew that, most likely, I wouldn't have bought it. Customer Service is deplorable, particularly when it's about a new customer. How could I advise someone to go through what I did! After more than two weeks, I could not fix my wife's Iphone. It seems that this company does care only to cell the SIM card, then "tough luck"! I am terrible surprised and frustrated! If I went through this problem, I wonder what will someone without any knowledge of computers and electronics will go through!

I would not recommend Freedom Pop especially for young people...the service is awful when using it for the telephone to talk.... otherwise using it on Wi-Fi for internet is ok..... This is really for people who do not use their phone much. Then you also can't get help from customer service without having to pay a fee or wait for days for them to email you back.

I have only had the service for about a month but so far I am very pleased. I am a fairly light data user so I can get by easily on 5GB per month. Unlimited calls and txt are working as advertised. Voice mail works fine too.

This was a mixed bag. It was okay when I got it. But VOIP is a second grade service at best. I don’t use this anymore. I used it for 1 year, saved money of course, but it wasn’t worth it in the end.

I bought the Freedompop 12-month SIM card from Bestbuy at Atlantic Avenue mall. It was very easy to set up, and was just what I needed: data for 12 months, very cheap (less than $5 a month!).
There are two drawbacks to it though: first, I would really like to be able to add extra data only for one particular month, if I see that I'm running out. I would gladly pay something reasonable for it (i.e. $5-$10 per GB). However, there is no such option! If I run out of data, I have to buy their more expensive yearly plan.
Another issue that may be just AT&T-related: my phone does not have all the US LTE frequencies, so in some areas it only works as 3G (Entire New York City, for example). 3G speeds are fine with me. However, in some parts of NYC, the 3G doesn't work AT ALL. I have to walk maybe 10 blocks for my data to work again.

The sim card purchased at Best Buy - activation was easy and no credit card details asked.
Selected a nice number in my area and started to use immediately. Have LTE signal everywhere and speed is fast. Very happy with my purchase.
