Make sure service works in your area prior to purchase. Used my sim in an unlocked ATT Samsung Galaxy S7 Active phone, with no problems. If you are a current Freedompop member I suggest using a new email to register as I had problems using my existing account. If you call FP for help they will want a 10$ surcharge.

I was skeptical from reading some of the reviews. The biggest complaint was the installation. I found installation to be a little challenging because the instructions are not Good. A little patience, common sense and trial & error prevailed. The SIM card and service are perfect and cheap. 4G LTE on the AT&T network.

I bought this for my daughter and download the app on the instruction and create an account to generate a phone number and registered on the web. It is pretty straight forward and you only need to pay if you want additional features. I was able to call her no problems so far.

If you need below 1GB/mo in some device (like your new vehicle!) - then it is a great product. Important that here you don't need to enter your card during an activation.

I've been using Freedompop for years. If you're considering this, please understand that this sim only provides 1GB data per month through ATT 3G/4G network. Do not rely on any other services advertised. Customer service is email only and can be slow.

Bought Freedom Pop for my young son so we could give him a phone. Freedom Pop has worked great. Easy to setup account and when he's not on Wi-Fi, he now has LTE data he can use. Pleased with purchase.

Purchase the SIM card for my network radio. I needed internet access but no talk and text. Worked just fine except in areas where the coverage became 3G and then many dropouts.
As long as you understand that possibility you should be satisfied

The whole putting it on service was a bit of a handful but it was easy, so far no complaints, can’t really take advantage of free stuff though, such as Uber eats and postmates when you register a new phone #

The app is horrible. Looks like the software was written by bunch of bad hacks who know nothing about software. Of course, I am a software architect, and I do know a lot about software. And this apps sucks. Instead of just being an app by it piggies back over your smart phone's messaging and phone apps and does not always work. No caller id on who called, some numbers can't be reached. It sucks.
The only good thing is the 1gig a month data - that part actually works very well! So the $5 a month is worth it for the 1gig of data, but you can't use this as your main phone.

Work great for internet connection to normal tcp/ip connection like port #80/443, email, ssh, vpn. If you need to connect with specific port #, you may need to use like ssh->port forwarding to tunnel the network traffic.

My school going kid started using this as a cheap alternative. She takes it only for special school days when they are taken out to other activities or after school activities(no more than 4-5 days a month) , most games, App Store and other apps have cellular off, yet every month it gets close to the 1GB limit. Being using this for 2 months, will watch for some more time before looking at other option, if I have too.
