Is free for limited use. I'm simply trying to use it with Google voice which only partly works even thought it started off perfect. If you're going to pay for it look and see how much it costs just to add a line to your current plan.

Better to buy directly from FreedomPop. This one costs an extra activation fee on top of the purchase price.

Basically you make call via an app. Good Wifi, but much easier to use Apps like Hushed, etc if you already have service , otherwise great cost effective plan for tech person. Not for elderly

There is an activation charge of $0.99 and they want to add $10 credit but that's optional + they want a phone number for shipping even though you get sim from Best Buy.
Main reason for getting it from Best Buy is you get FreedomPop full trial if you buy Direct your trial starts when it ships so you lose some days and Best buy ship the sim card faster.
I suggest you look up a guide on Google if you looking into get them as a free service.

It works ok, but when they offer the available phone numbers, the site only shows a limited quantity... I wish I had more options... but it's ok.

Good way to get a freedompop card

FreedomPop is not for everyone. They advertise "free" service, which is true if you read the rules closely and you keep within the free limits. If you don't, then you'll be charged. Overall, this is a good way to get a FreedomPop SIM if you're looking for one. Make sure to read all the rules and requirements before getting into it though, it can get confusing.

I really like the idea, and I'm still holding out hope that things change, but after getting the SIM and putting it in a compatible phone I just can't get it to work, even the phone is saying that it is on the network. I try calling their customer service and it is non-existent, just a run around, press this number for this, press that number for that, with prerecorded messages the entire way, eventually telling you to go online. The onilne help is again FAQ style - pre-written answers to what they say are the most common problems. To interact with a live person you have to subscribe for $5/ mnth, and then everytime I call they are unavailable!!

Sim card was on sale and very easy to activate online. Just ensure you add Freedompop friends after activation to add an extra 500mb of data per month.

My credit card has been charged $10.99 three times within a week from activating the free plan. I have only used 5 minutes of it! I had two of the charges reversed but its a pain. I was checking my credit card account today and another $10.99 charge! They also require you to keep a $15 minimum for incidentals and if not they automatically charge you unless you pay $7 a month just to disable this feature. Buyers beware thats all.

It says free but I was charged a $0.01 charges even after cancellation, not sure why. Also, I remember paying around $30 for every 6months. Check the terms & conditions.
