All The Friday 13th Movies At A Killer Price!

My summary says it all, a killer "steel box" Blu-ray set of all the Friday the 13th films plus so much more at a "killer" price. I wanted this for so long and I jumped at the chance to own this once it went on sale for a "killer" price here at Best Buy. For fans of these films, I can't recommend this one enough! As an added bonus, the set comes with a redemption code good for Digital Copies in UV of all the films too!

Warner Bros Home Entertainment has done what many thought was impossible. For the first time ever, they've compiled every "Friday the 13th" film into one package. Why did it seem like such an impossible feat? Simply because several different studios owned the movies as the franchise was passed from one to another over the years. I don't care how it happened. I'm just rejoicing in the fact that I have them all together... and now in high-definition no less! There have been complaints that "Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection" doesn't include the uncut versions of some of the films along with other minor issues. Honestly, I really don't care. It's good enough for me to have them the way they were originally released. What do the uncut versions have that the theatrical ones don't? An extra boob or graphic slashing scene? I'm really alright without those. Each of the movies stand on their own merits as is. All 12 of the movies in the series are found in the "Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection." You get the uncut versions of the original film and its 2009 remake, the 9 sequels, and "Freddy vs. Jason." "Friday the 13th Part 3" is presented in 3-D. Obviously, each movie varies in quality. Although the first one is my favorite, I will say that I enjoy them all for what they are. "Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection" comes housed in a textured tin box featuring Jason holding a machete on the front. A hardcover book/sleeve contains all 12 of the movies. Each cardboard page features accompanying stills on them. Some of them have little blurbs of behind-the-scenes info. It also includes a 40-page booklet with excerpts from "Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th." Two pairs of 3-D glasses and a Camp Crystal Lake Counselor patch are found as well. All of these items are bundled together by a stretchable red band that reads, "I told the others. They didn't believe me. You're all doomed." The audio and video for "Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection" varies in quality. Some of the original source materials obviously limit how well each movie looks on Blu-ray. The newer ones were made knowing they were going to be released at some point on Blu-ray and/or DVD. The older ones look brighter and cleaner, but still have some visual imperfections. The sound brings the woods around Camp Blood and the streets and back alleys of Manhattan to life. Let's not forget to mention how spectacular Harry Manfredini's score for the movies sound thanks to this hi-def upgrade. There are loads of special features for each disc. There's also an entire DVD entitled "Killer Bonus." They come with audio commentary, making of documentaries, featurettes, and other odds and ends. Many consumers have complained that all the extra material has been released before. At least now it's all in one place. People who always see the glass as half empty will always be around. I tend to look at "Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection" in a positive light. How can you complain as a fan of this franchise when we're finally getting all the movies in Blu-ray and they're housed in one convenient set? I recommend this for any fans of Jason and his franchise that can look past a few flaws and just enjoy it for the gift it is.

Awesome Box Set for FRIDAY THE 13TH Lovers!

This box set is almost perfect. Every FRIDAY THE 13TH film (including "Jason vs. Freddy" and the 2009 Remake) in pristine condition and loaded with extras, a colorful booklet, and few other surprises in an attractive tin can. I know a lot of fans complain about the cut gore scenes not being re-instated into the films from the 80s, but - when available - they are added as supplements. If they're not added (particularly for Part 2 and 3), I truly believe the footage is gone for good. It was edited out and destroyed. It would have surfaced by now if it still existed. Only error in this set is that it has the R-rated version of "Jason Goes to Hell," and not the unrated. Oh, well - I still have my DVD copy of the unrated, so I stuck it into the box as my own supplement! LOL

I have read several complaints regarding this Friday the 13th set. Some people do not like the packaging with dentable tin casing, or that the discs are stored in a book. Some people want part 3 to be in real 3D, not the anaglyph 3D. Some people are upset that Jason Goes to Heck* is not the uncut version. While these are (mostly) valid complaints, (especially the cut version of Part IX,) none of that ruins my total enjoyment of this set. All the movies are there, including Freddy v. Jason and the 2009 remake, and Ultraviolet codes are included, which is where you can find the uncut version of Jason Goes to Heck*. I am not a huge swag person, so the added trinkets and junk don't matter much to me, but it is nice that they included anaglyph 3D glasses for Part 3. My only wish, not a complaint, is that it would have been nice if they could have included the excellent Crystal Lake Memories documentary. I definitely love this set and was happy that I picked it up at a reasonable price before it went out of print. Friday the 13th is a fun, ridiculous series throughout. *Edited for publishing reasons.

This box set is near perfect, if you are a true fan of slasher films from the early 80s, which was truly the golden age for slasher films. While many are quick to say that the Friday the 13th films are a big collection of horror clichés, those same people will fail to point out that the Friday the 13th films pretty much CREATED the clichés, and spawned literally thousands of imitators. The sound and picture quality of every disc is amazing. The color quality, clarity, and detail exceeded my anticipations for this box set. The special features on each disc are outstanding, and will give real horror fans hours of factoids and behind the scenes information to pore over. Well worth a horror fan's time and money.

Among the horror franchises of its period, this one is my favorite. This isn't a perfect presentation for it, but depending on what you've bought into in the past, it is quite good. The Blu-Ray presentations of the movies look good, even though some have to double up in the later parts. There are a lot of documentary extras including nearly all the ones from the recent releases of 1-8 and just about everything from "JGtH", "X", "FvJ" and the recent remake. It also includes the ones from the 1-8 only boxed set. There are a handful of things missing, including some commentaries. One big omission is that while the first movie is still the recently released "Uncut" version, the "JGtH" here is only the theatrical one (while the original DVD included an uncut version too). The physical extras are nice: a rubber wristband, a camp counselor patch and a miniature teaser book with excerpts from the excellent documentary book.

Great collection of movies, packaging just okay

I gave this box set 4 stars only because the distributor once again used the cardboard sleeve book design for all of these discs instead of something more protective for the discs. I even bought some soft protective sleeves to slide into the cardboard slots but the design on this set as compared to the DVD collection is different and is too narrow for a square sleeve to slide in. There is no way to remove the discs without gripping the read side with your fingers and repeated removals will cause scratches to the discs over time. Slim cases would have been a much better option for this. The book case itself is attractive and would be better still if it had a slipcover for those who would not want to display the tin box and would rather put the book holder on a shelf by itself. The way it is now it will just collect dust between the pages. Again, great set of movies and features, not so great packaging. I was lucky the set I bought was not all scratched up from delivery.

You get all the original movie on blu-ray including Freddy vs Jason and the 2009 remake. The 2009 remake does contain both the R rated and Killer Cut Unrated versions, but The first original 1980 movie is available in Unrated Blu-ray version and this set did not include that version. I purchased the Unrated version and replaced the R version with it. all in all still a good buy, since the later movies are only available in this set on Blu-ray.

This is a long out of print set that I guess BB had extras of lying around so being able to get one was extremely cool. It contains a camp crystal lake patch, a digibook with all the movies and a bonus special features disc, and a booklet discussing the history of the series. The PQ and AQ are great, I just hope one day a true 3D release of part 3 will be released because the red/cyan version just takes out all the color and makes it look bad, and there are some glaring ghosting issues which is annoying. Overall this is a must buy for fans of the series and general movie collectors.

Then I went to see each one up until the 4th as they came out. Then my life got busy and I started waiting for the video releases. Having all of the movies now on Blu-Ray is simply amazing and I'm a very happy guy. Oh and the extras are so many that I'm not even close to watching them all. I definitely recommend this set to all horror fans but especially Friday fans.

I have not had any issues with my set, but others have reported a manufacture error with scratched discs. I did find some very minor scratches on a few discs, but they work flawlessly. Plus, even thought he price tag is high, the average per film is very reasonable. Especially in a collectors type deal.

Jason is commonly considered one of the big three horror icons along with Micheal and Freddy. Not all of these movies are great but the opportunity to get them all in one setting is fortunate; especially with different studios making different movies in the series. I gave it five stars for considering the ability to put these movies all together for fans.

It's great to have the entire set of the old Friday the 13th movies plus the new one all on Blu-Ray Picture & sound quality is amazing. Only draw back is the 3rd one in you still have to use the cheap glasses that come in the set. You think they would,ve made it to work on 3-D Tv set-ups

I have always been a fan of the Friday the 13th movies and having them all available as once collection is great. The collection comes in a tin box and includes a Crystal Lake patch, 3D glasses for part 3, the 10 original movies, Freddy vs Jason, and the 2009 remake. Most of the Blu-rays come with special features and extras.

Great for completists or anyone who does not have the 2009 dvds or the box set that was released a couple years ago. The book and other bonus items are nice and it is good that the set also includes Freddy vs Jason and the Friday the 13th remake. I really only got this set because it is the complete collection on blu ray and for the extras and because it was on sale for $20 or $30 less than the normal price.

The night I got this in the mail, I tore the box open and summarized all the content. Complete with a memories booklet sharing cast and crew thoughts, 3D glasses for the 3D version of Friday the 13th Part 3, an iron-on counselor badge, and all 12 films, you can experience the good, the bad, and everything in between from Crystal lake in 1980 to space in the distant future and then back to the lake for a remake.

This is the best set of the series there is, it's such a shame it's out of print and hard to find for a good price. Comes in a tin case with a Camp Crystal Lake Boy Scout patch, set of blue/red 3D glasses (for F13th 3) and a history book of the F13th franchise along with the book with all the movies in it.

This is an awesome buy for any Jason fan. It includes all the movies even though after 3 they fall down. But the humor and kills are all still there! The patch included in this package will make you feel part of the Crystal Lake family. The booklet showcasing a brief history of the series is entertaining look behind the scenes.

This is a great set. I have been waiting a long time for them to put all these movies into one box set. It is nice to have them all together. All of the discs are in a cardboard, sleeved book that sits inside the tin case. Anyone that has gone up appreciating these classic horror movies will love the set.
