I spent too much time reading reviews, decided to go with one that as a) available for pickup today b) cheap but within the correct BTU range. I will say that buying the right BTU really matters, which is why I'm keeping this AC and have enjoyed it. I won't say it's the quietest one available, but the sound is a pleasant white noise that doesn't seem to bother... For the price, I think you won't regret buying this one!

This purchase was an upgrade from a 6000 BTU unit that was about 8 years old. So far it is on track to pay for itself in electric bills in about two summers. The only real downside to it is that, like all wall units, it's loud. This one lost a star because whenever you touch the control panel or make a change to the settings using the remote, the thing beeps like a rice-cooker, thus awaking sleeping toddlers.

I have a huge open L shaped living room with dining room off to the side and this AC cooled off the entire space within 30 minutes. I actually needed a blanket when I was lounging on the sofa. Minimal noise I didn't have to put up the volume on the TV.

This air conditioner is awesome, the remote control is an added bonus. Keeps my house very cool - in fact I usually have to turn it up!! Its that cold!

Just got my A/C put in today. I have the A/C in my living room. It's very cold in the room. I Love it. I stay in a upstairs apartment. It was very HOT in my living room & kitchen. It feel so good now. I'm enjoying it. Because it get very hot in Birmingham, Al....Thanks Frigidaire You're The BEST.

Having swamp cooling doesn't quite work when ABQ goes into triple digits. I needed cooling in the bedroom in order to sleep and found this one had decent reviews concerning cooling efficiency and meeting square footage cooling capacity. After using it for two weeks, I find it cools to the set temperature, effectively cools the bedroom allowing me to sleep comfortably in much cooler temperatures and humidity levels than the swamp cooler alone. The unit does have some heft to it so definitely have to people for installation unless you are a gym rat or egoist. I will find out in a few weeks if the Energystar annual electricity usage estimate is accurate on my utility bill. Four stars since the side panels are so tights, they tended to spring back into the unit while installing in the window. Other than that, the remote works well and has a temperature readout and all features work as advertised.

I use this in a 900 sq ft first floor and it has been great. Im not looking for an ice cold house, just cool enough to be comfortable. I wanted to stay away from a large unit and the mounting support that goes along with them. This unit has been exactly what I hoped for.

Does exactly what it says. Instructions were clear and it basically starts off with cold air.

It's been a few years since I bought my last window AC, and I have to say that they are very cost efficient and quiet.

The ac doesn't have cool air at all even I tried to keep it on with cool mode & high speed fan more than an hour. My room temp increased to 88 from 86 in that an hour. Maybe I should call it heating fan other than an ac. I'm a 100lb girl, I picked up this 70lb ac by myself from the store, I don't know if I could take it to return with my whole body safe. I'm living at 4th floor of a apt which has no elevator. Taking it back to return will truly killing me. I wish I could give it negative.

I purchased the 10,000 BTU window unit for my kitchen which gets extremely hot during the summertime I placed the unit in the window of my pantry that’s in my kitchen, my pantry does not have a door therefore I am expecting the unit to cool my kitchen very good unfortunately the unit does not cool the pantry nor does it cool the kitchen. I have it set to the lowest temperature and it’s on the high there are times when my air conditioner even freezes and it’s not putting out that much of cool air I am not understanding what is happening can someone please help me thank you very much.
