    Have this in a giant room with 20 ft. ceilings and keeps it cool. Haven't noticed any ridiculous spike in energy consumption and I now sleep well.

    Currently have a 5,000 BTU Zenith (which is the BEST 5,000 BTU unit and it's only $99! - do NOT buy a Haier model!!!) in my bedroom. Also have a 5,000 BTU Frigidaire unit in my living room outside my bedroom. The unit works perfectly, but just isn't strong enough for the size of the room. My kitchen is next to my living room and I put my new 12,000 BTU unit in there. I'll prob blow a fuze if I run all three at once, so I plan on not using the 5,000 BUT Frigidaire in my living room as the 12,000 BTU Frigidaire in my kitchen should be able to handle both rooms. I'm really excited. Installation was really easy. Took 20 minutes. I love having the remote as well, so I can shut it off or turn it on while watching tv. It also has a timer and air ionizer purifier built in which is neat. The compressor isn't lout, and the fan on low isn't loud, but on hi it is, which I'm all for, because I want to hear this thing pounding out cold air! I love it! Best unit for the money!
