A lot of refrigerators of this style no come with a grey side panel. I enjoy the black side panel with stainless steel.

It is great to have ice and cold water constantly available....also nice to have frozen items at eye level

We purchased this fridge in July 2014. I waited over a year before posting the review. We got the ice maker and it has been very good. I was concerned about the ice melting and becoming a solid chunk, but that hasn't happened. Occasionally a piece of ice will get stuck in the chute door and not come out. When that happens that piece will melt, and we'll get a trickle of water that is caught in the over-flow tray. That tray doesn't have a drain, so it must be sponged dry. The ice inside the freezer doesn't seem to be affected by the chute door being partially open. The temperature control leaves a little to be desired. It is a digital selector, but not a digital temperature selector. We can select a temperature selection between 1 and 9, in whole number changes. Unlike the old dial selector, that we could select 8.5 if we wanted it colder then 8, but warmer than 9. Not so with this model; we pick 8 or 9 (9 being the coldest). We routinely keep our house at 68 in the winter and find that the 8 setting is needed to keep the food cold (35 degrees is recommended, 40 degrees is considered the warmest a fridge should ever be). In the summer our house is kept at 72 (78 is suggested for energy efficiency); the fridge must be kept at 9 (the coldest setting), but our fridge thermometer rarely goes below 40. Read that as: This fridge just barely maintains a refrigerator temperature cold enough to store perishables. We have noticed the temperature at the back of the fridge is freezing our left-overs, but the door shelves are at 40 degrees. The gallon storage in the door would be great for a milk jug, but the temperature in the door isn't cold enough to keep the milk for very long; so milk is kept on a shelf, away from the door. This month (Sep 15) the fridge light stopped working; this has been the first failure since we've owned it. We verified the replacement bulb works, put it into the fridge - no light. I'm guessing the electronic control panel that controls the light went out, so a call to the Geek Squad service began. We purchased a 5 yr GSP ($300), so wear-n-tear and other items should be covered. The entire service call lasted 7 minutes, from the time I dialed, until the service technician was thanking me for my call. I was never placed on hold during the call, and the time I spent in the automated routing system was under a minute (I hate computerized systems). I called Friday evening, and our technician should be here this coming Wednesday afternoon; a two business day wait. For a non-urgent repair, that is great (I know, it depends how busy the technicians are in my service area, but I'm impressed with 2 days). I'll update this after the service call. So far, I'm very impressed with the Geek Squad Service.

This is my first side-by-side and I love it. Lots of room in both the fridge and freezer. The main reason for this style was the in-door water and ice. I am finding this style to be much easier to access than the tradition freezer on top.

My first Frigadare product and I like it. It looks nice, it's features are easy to use and it runs so quietly.

love this fridge. great for the money. excellent space available. Only one wish... that there was a light in the freezer but i also knew that before i purchased it. Didn't think i'd miss that freature as much as i do.

This refrigerator was the color, size and style that I was seeking with a reasonable price. Within a couple of months it stopped cooling so I called service. The rep told me to unplug it and replug it to reset it. It worked. I was not compensated for the spoiled food and they REFUSED to send a service person out to see it. This happened three times under warranty. The warranty ran out about 1 1/2 months ago and it is happening again except this time it won't reset. Frigidaire agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor even though this is a pre-existing condition. GET THIS: the extended warranty won't pay for pre-existing conditions. I reiterate, DO NOT buy this refrigerator or any Frigidaire product. Service after the sale is non-existent.

Our new refrigerator keeps food cold but there are a couple of problems with the design. The cover on the front bottom of the refrigerator, that covers the coils, keeps sliding partly off. I've put it back on many times but it continues to slide partly off. Also, the ice-maker fills the storage container in the freezer so full that it overflows. We have to turn off the ice-maker frequently to prevent the overflows.

Runs quietly, powerful ice crusher, filtered water tastes great, meets all expectations.

Item is great, love it. Love the lock and the price!!! If you are looking for stainless steel and can't afford name brand these work perfectly and would definitely recommend it.!

I purchased this item in May 2012. Within 4 months the cooling system stop functioning. Repairman fixed issue and was operating well again. It just made 1 year since purchasing this item and I am AGAIN experiencing the same issues. Regret purchasing this item. The personnel at best buy are always eager to help fix any issues. As for me never purchasing a frigidaire product EVER!!! Ice maker takes long to make ice.

After only one year we started having cooling issues with it. We had to unplug it and defrost it for it to work another six months, after that it stopped working completely! Of corse the 1year guarantee was up. And the price of the insurance was a bit high so we decided against it after all it should last at least four years right?......well lesson learned! Buy the extra insurance. We had to buy a new one after owning it for only 22 mouths!
