I also wanted one to use with Echo as well as the Frigidaire app. Installing on the Wi-Fi was a breeze as well as setting up the Echo skill. I would like to be able to direct the air flow more easily, but I'm very pleased with the product.

That being said yes i would recommend this item for anyone to use

The fan on the unit faces upwards rather than forward so it doesn't cool the room as I anticipated. My living room does not have a door to enclose the air so it go out of the room rather than cooling the entire room. I don't know if there is something that I am not doing right.

I can turn it on/off away from home via app with my phone, save on the energy bill and come home to a cooled apartment.

The Smart app makes a big difference to the whole experience. Overall, it is a great a/c to have for a NYC apartment.
