The unit does a fine job cooling the room. The remote control feature using your phone is great, and works well. Problem is, don't use it for a bedroom. The thing seems to get noisier by the day... got to the point last night where I just turned the thing off and put the central air back on. I was not expecting it to be as quiet as the central air, but this thing is terrible in that regard... all kinds of crazy sounds, just not conducive to sleep. This one is going back to the store. If you need it a room where sound is not an issue, it will work well for you, but forget the bedroom!!

So I never got to use it. Retuned it at a best buy store and did not want to order another one, because you can only get it on line not at a best buy store, did not want to take another chance in arriving damaged.

Posted .Gosh NYCSubway Token! We hate that you are not satisfied with your purchase. In researching, an 8,000 btu air conditioner may be too large for an area of 12 x 20. For more efficient and effective cooling, you may need a 6,000 btu air conditioner. I hope this helps.
Condenser Fan did not work!
