I got this to dry out my 1250 sq ft basement and I did not want to pay $1000+ for a Sante Fe or similar. I have a stand alone humidity meter in the basement. Within a week or so the humidity went from 80% to 50% and is now 45 %. Does not seem too loud but it's in the basement so that is not important to me anyway. Now we have to see how long it lasts .

I am replacing my 3rd dehumidifier of this same model FAD954DWD at Best Buy, as it has the error code F0 and will no longer work. So unfortunate that this model is so expensive yet will not last more than a year. I have had the same experience as the other customer with 1-Star review. Very disappointed, I now need to wait again for a case to be sent to the Best Buy Store only to wait for the Best Buy Store Manager to call Frigidaire support, wait for them to resolve the case so I can get a replacements because Best Buy will not refund my money for this product. I wish I could simply get a refund and buy a product that will actually work for the next 10 years rather than replacing every year.

Yikes! I am sorry that you are unhappy about getting your dehumidifier replaced, ghoff. The F0 error code concerns outlet voltage and the surrounding temperature. If you are continually getting this error message, have you checked that the outlet voltage is 115V+-10%, and the surrounding temperature does not exceed; at the lowest 41°F and at the highest 96°F? ~Ruth

Quiet and removes the moisture quickly. I have a 1400 square feet basement with dry coated walls. I can now maintain 55% relative humidity. Initial setup of humidifier after 3 day continuous running had the humidity as low as 48%. Relative humidity outside was in the 80% + range.

I purchased the FAD954DWD dehumidifier in 2016. It failed and I received a replacement in 2017. It failed and I received a replacement in 2018 which has now failed as well. Looks like number four is on the horizon. They have all experienced the same problem. They start by icing up and ultimately stop dehumidifying. I am meticulous about keeping the filter clean. Now I have to take this one to Best Buy and wait for a replacement. Given my experience with this unit I would rather receive a refund. As a man in my mid 70's lugging the unit up and down our basement stairs is becoming increasingly difficult.

I bought this last summer and used it ever since and it's been great.
The unit is large but sure takes away the moisture in the air when it's on.
I used it all last summer and turned it off for the winter.
The only thing I wish was different is the tank I wish it held more water.
I'd suggest to all to buy.

Mine stopped working in 14 months. It's a huge (very heavy) chunk of plastic, and it's unreliable & poorly made.
I had also purchased the so-called "Geek Squad Protection Plan." But be advised that they do not do house visits for appliances, unless they are "very large." This one was delivered in a truck and carried into my house by two men, but apparently it does not qualify as "large enough." I'm not a young man anymore, and I can barely lift this huge dehumidifier. But the "Geek Squad" expects me to take it the closest Best Buy... I guess I'll drop dead soon thereafter... I'll never buy another Frigidaire product, and will never purchase another BestBuy protection plan. If I can find the item I need elsewhere, I'll never again buy anything from Best Buy.

I just called Elextrolux today, (the parent company of Figidaire) to tell them this is thier 2nd 95 pint dehumidifier has failed. First one lasted about 9-10 months and the second just 1 year 4 months.. I was using it in a 1800 sq ft basement that is NOT wet ... Luckily I bought the extended warrantee on the second one.. I figured I would hedge my bet if the 1st on failed in 9-10 months.. This was the first week that the humidity called for dehumidification after 4+ months of heating dryness.. The reason I went ahead and bought a 2nd one was the first failure was a fluke.. One thing I can say at least Elextrolux stands behind thier junk.. I will see what they will do to cover me.. If they ship me another one direct I will give it one last try, but if they send me a gift card again, I will be spending it on another brand.. BTW they do not service them, they just write them off and I have to pay for disposal because of the refrigerant... I bought both of mine at Best Buy...
