Customers consistently note that the Gallery 450 Sq. Ft. Smart Portable Air Conditioner struggles to adequately cool larger spaces, with some reporting insufficient cooling in rooms exceeding 300 square feet. Issues with cooling performance were also reported, including a significant decrease in effectiveness over time for some users. A few users experienced mechanical problems impacting cooling ability. The unit's cooling capacity appears to be a significant concern for many customers.

I bought this smart AC unit for my room, to help my room cool. I have had it for 4 days now and it's been impossible to get the unit to connect to a Wi-Fi signal. I've tried the suggestion of different resets & different devices and still having gotten a reply for Frigidaire.

It takes 5 to 6 hours to cool down a 300 sq ft room and the wifi connection doesn’t work at all. Nobody is answering on the customer service contact number.

Not sure why this has bad reviews. It works well. We have it set to turn on automatically at 5pm so that it's cool by the time we get home from work. It syncs well with the Frigidaire smart window unit that we also purchased. Have not had any issues at all (used for one full summer).
Took off one star because our living room doesn't get super cold, but it cools the room enough to be comfortable. Granted, we have a huge living room (roughly 20ftx15ft), and it opens up to a foyer that's 10ftx6x, so it's easy for the cold air to dissipate. It's also way bigger than I'd like, so make sure you break out a measuring tape.
Overall, happy for the convenience and the sleek look.

Another Portable AC to the Landfill

Something to note regarding the Frigidaire Gallery 12,000 BTU Cool Connect—if it starts acting up (before your yearlong warranty is over), you'll have to cut the cord and throw it away (no corporate recycling program) to receive a replacement. They do not offer repairs.
I bought this unit last summer to use for the season. It performed well but then started to have a loud rattling noise at the end of the summer and couldn't cool a 10x15 ft bedroom very well. After some back and forth with customer service, I understand that I can receive a replacement unit under my one year warranty, but will have to cut the cord and dispose of the unit myself—no recycling program for a $600 unit that I bought because of its energy efficiency. I was told by customer service that I could look up my city's local recycling program. If that's the case, how many of these units have ended up in a landfill? Would not recommend.
