I purchased this for the sole purpose of updating the firmware for my car, and I can say that it performed admirably.

This product is awesome! I do a lot of statistical work, but didn't want to load all those programs onto my laptop (256GB SSD; too little), but partitioning it to pull the programs off this hard drive has been great! Really sets it apart from other hard drives, get this one.

I needed a new USB drive and wanted to make it easier to use on older and new machines so looked for USB-C. This one is only USB 3.1 and not the newer 3.2, but it is still very fast. I was a little disappointed in the sturdiness of the connection itself. On MacBook and MB Pro, this is a very firm connector similar to the lightning connector on my iPhone. On this drive, there is a bit of wiggling and play after it is connected which is a bummer. Seems otherwise very solid. Disk speeds are very fast and obviously faster depending on whether it is plugged in via USB 2 on older machines or USB 3. The package does contain a cable which allows you to go to both. Wish it had a second USB-C connector to allow a daisy chain.

Works great with our Mac Book Pro!! We have been using this product for years!

Since getting my 13" Dell XPS, I've been looking for a decent type c drive. This little hard drive was a perfect fit. It comes with both the standard usb to type-c cable and type-c to type-c cable. Has been working flawlessly since day one.

I bought the G-Drive Gen1 to store my instrument librarys for my music production company. Thanks to the 7200 rpm spin speed there is no buffer or lag when loading samples. Also the transfer speed is as fast as an SSD. I am very happy with the drive.

This is a nicely designed hard drive that looks sturdy and attractive. It is a great for backing up photos and other files and is reasonably quick since it is a 7200 rpm "spinning" drive. I have had no issues whatsoever with the drive.

I needed an external drive for my MacBook Pro with the new USB-C ports. This drive is great as it comes with 2 cables...one with USB-C end and another with USB end. So, I can use this drive with both my new and old laptops.

I purchased this HD for the USBc connection and speed. This product has exceeded my expectations and gives me the additional storage space I needed for my Lenovo Yoga. It’s fast and efficient. Great purchase.

This is what hard drives should be by now. It's a 7200 rpm and has a USB 3.1 port. Why other hard drives are still using 3.0 and are only 5400 is just stupid unless you are only using them for storage.

I love it! It has helped me a lot with my computer storage. Now I can download documents without worrying about my storage. I really recommend it to anyone who is looking for extra space.

Another great G-Drive! These are awesome, especially this one, as it has USB-C and can go directly in to our Mac Books that have USB-C now, and is very fast to read and write to.

This drive is perfect for Mac users. Higher quality than Western Digital HDs. I love the speed of the 7200rpm for the size and price. It is also up to date with a USB Type-C port.

I purchased this cause I'm retooling my video camera & editing for the USB C change. My wires and my hard drives. I tried this on my USB C perhiperhals and there is a speed increase. the bottleneck from previous USB drives is over. a MUST BUY!. I tried it on my GOOGLE PIXEL PHONE. I can transfer pics back and forth using this Hard Drive. Go buy this.

You can't go wrong for the amount of storage you get! When you have a computer you should always backup your data.All I can say that if you want to be smart buy it.You won't go wrong.
