    I have used this for about a year now and find it to be perfect for my needs. It is a bit slower than I was hoping though. I use this to store all my SOOC photography as well as final edits.

    This external USB was a gift for my son. He takes a lot of pictures, and he can store the pictures in his external drive instead of his computer.

    Bought 2 of these to store photography work. One is used as a nightly backup before backing up to a cloud. Easy to use and set up.

    With 220 write speed this almost as fast as some ssd. Six tb usb3 better than usb-c model.

  • FYI: Not compatible with Surface Books

    This drive worked great but when my older computer needed replacement I bought a Surface Book 2 and the drive will not communicate with the Surface Book. G-Technologies did replace my drive thinking it was defective and when the replacement drive arrived it did not work as well. I tried the drive with a different model laptop and worked good and took the drive and my Surface Book to the Microsoft store to see if I had a defective computer and it turns out they ran into the issue with G-Drive previously and the computer is fine and the drive is fine it's just that the G-Drive and Surface Book will not work together. WE hooked the G-Drive to a Surface Laptop and it worked fine. So at this time ONLY the Surface Books will NOT work with any G-Drives. any of the other WD external drive and sandisk drives work fine. Hopefully this info will help someone in the future so you do not waste money on a drive that will not work on all computers.
