I got this to back up a project but 125mb/s speed it Plus you have to power to the wall so it's not easy to move around. I upgraded to the 10TB Usb G Drive for storage and plugged into my apple airport capsule. You should only be considering Thunderbolt if you're thinking of setting up a custom raid. Btw 6tb it's only 20 bucks more plus more speed. Only buy this if you got a desk set up and it's your only safe choice

I’ve used one of these for a couple of years and needed an additional one for a different purpose. The price is great for the amount of storage and speed of this drive. They also provide a great warranty for data loss although I haven’t had to use it.

I needed a larger external drive for storing photos---and one that would work well with my MacBook and Lightroom. Another requirement was a drive that didn't draw too much power from my laptop. I have been very pleased with this device so far. While it is much larger than a regular USB drive, the performance has been excellent. I highly recommend this drive.

I’ve been using Glyph drives for a very long time and I have never had any issues. This one is no exception. It’s built like a tank. For the price it’s hard to beat. It has a USB-C port on the back but also comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

Very easy to set up as it is already set up for Mac. Just plug it in and select use for Time Machine as I did or it can be used for your specific needs. Lots of storage space for backing up my two main drives. If using with a Windows computer it needs to be reformatted.

I use this all day everyday for external photo and video editing of large files that need fast speeds to be played back. Would recommend this over anything else I have tried. Its also very quite.

The drive is pretty good. It is fast, and can charge my MacBook 12 inch while connected. I utilize this drive for my large Lightroom collection. It is able to do everything without lagtime, which is what I was looking for.

Works fast via USB-C and also charges my MacBook Pro 16in. The quality of the hard drive is exceptional and is very fast. Would definitely recommend this for people who are serious about storing their data securely.

Got this to backup my gaming machine and so far it works perfectly. I was able to backup my C and D drive as well as create a image of my PC. Also, the speed on the box of 150 mbps is true, I got really close to that. It took just under an hour to backup both drives and create a system image. It is also Thuderbolt 3 compatible if I ever want to go that route.

Love this thing. My laptop was completely out of memory. I transferred everything onto this drive. It was very easy. The videos are running just as fast as they did on the laptop from the drive.

I upgraded my previous 500G G-Drive to this unit. Plug and play! Great product!

Never keep anything slowing down the laptop, just transfer everything over

only thing i can say is i wish i bought this thing a couple years ago! it is hands down the fastest hard drive i have ever had! i can download 10gb of photos in a minute or less. i love how it also powers my mac while it is on. one thing that is slightly annoying about it is that even after ejecting, i have to turn off the power button. i have forgotten a couple times and it says (ejected improperly/had a mini panic attack) but nothing was corrupted - ie. I wish there was a reminder that told you to power it down, even after ejecting from the device.

I was concerned that it would be complicated to install and use, but I was completely wrong. You just plug it in and go. I do wish it had more storage space, but the speed and ease of use make up for it. I’m not we’ll versed on tech, and all the specs, but I am extremely happy with this hard drive.

Great product. Needs clearer setup instructions for Mac formats

Glyph hard drives have always been my favorite because of their warranty. I have own three of them: two portable without the need of a power supply and now this one. It transfers very fast and has been great for editing videos. The one thing I hope they improve is its bulkiness and weight.

As expected. Good quality. Lots of space and Very quick. A bit pricy but worth every cent. Happy with this purchase.
