Unique music rhythm game

A interesting free-form music rhythm game with lots of charm. Gal Metal encourages the player to practice and learn drum patterns. And in turn put those skills to use during stages where you freely drum to score points to clear stages. The timing for executing these drum patterns will take some getting used to for most players. The story is charming and told in a very cute manga style. Plus the games packaging is superb featuring a shiny foil cover, full color manual and stickers.

Gal Metal is wild, weird and cool. If you can embrace the vivid and wacky art style of the comic panel segments and strive for percussive nirvana, there is a refreshing, deceptively deep and gratifying experience here. What stops it from being truly great are the minor inconsistencies of the motion controls, the completely bonkers alien invasion plot and the slow, text-heavy teen melodrama stories. Even so, the game mostly succeeds by subverting many stale genre tropes. It will take time to master your set list and the absence of more contemporary music is initially jarring, but this is a title that is rewarding as well as just really fun. For those who are about to rock, we salute you.

Picked this up for $10 and was glad I did. It’s a rhythm game based on a female drummer. It has some faults, but I recommend it to those that like rhythm games, especially if you can find it on sale for $10.

I never thought this would leave the land of the rising sun. But here it is and it’s awesome. It’s a unique rhythm game all it’s own. No on screen prompts like beatmania or ddr. It’s all based on listening and playing to the beat. There’s also room for freestyle as long as it’s on point. It’s accompanied with a story about a girl band defending earth from aliens with the power of metal music. Give this a go and feel the beat of the music.

A fun as heck rhythm game. This one is nice as it has good production values and a story to play. So it offers more then standard games. If you liked rockband style games this is right in your wheelhouse.

Its alot of fun. Truly brings the joy con fun at a level up. Make sure to wear those wrist gears tho cos if you have sweaty palms, like myself, it's an entirely challenging experience of gripping on for dear life all the while trying to keep up with the beat. So yeah: play safely. Other than that.. jam ur heart out gals!

Gal Metal is a crazy fun and very unique rhythm with an art style that's like a wacky comic strip and gameplay that's unique, addictive, and a complete blast. I highly recommend this one to fans of the genre and those that want to play something different.

I will admit that the somewhat wacky story and art style is not for everyone. However, the gameplay shakes up the standard concept of pushing buttons to the beat by incorporating movement on the joy cons to connect you to the song's rhythm in a fun and unique way. I enjoyed this game and recommend it to people who are looking for a quirky and different take on the rhythm game genre.

It’s a pretty cool game, but it seems like it’s genuinely geared towards a drummer type audience. I’m not a drummer but I enjoyed it. I’d recommend it to a drummer friend or a rhythm game enthusiast

This game is so much fun, and it fits the nintendo switch the best.
The game its a mix of Parapa the Rapper, Taiko no Tatsujin and Elite agents. The premise is just as crazy, involving an alien invasion and saving the planet with the power of music.
Really cute art style, kind of looks like manga panels. definitely recommended.

This is a very unique title in that you have complete freedom over the moves you enter while drumming along. It's not like a DDR with commands on the screen, so it leads to some creative gameplay.

The game has you as a drummer without any prompts so everyone will actually be playing along differently. Quirky anime style story that has you defending Earth from aliens.

You might think this is girly game, but the music is pure heavy metal. Unfortunately, heavy metal doesn't play a part in many games so it's great to hear some drum heavy metal in a game, even if it is rhythm based. A fun game with great music.
