My nine year old son had us driving to several store locations and scouring the internet for this game. Glad we finally found it. He really loves the game and remains excited in designing his own game features. "Look mom, pushing A does this!" Whatever that means. SMH.

A really fun yet basic game maker with lots of creative tools. Much like many of Nintendo games that have online it’s bare bones and a hinderance when it comes to sharing levels

So far so good. There are a ton Of programming options when I thought I would only be a little bit. Even the tutorials are fun to make and the games are simple and fun to play as well. If you like Mario maker I think you’ll like this

My 6 year old really wanted this game so we thought we'd give it a try. He was frustrated at first but we helped with the tutorials and now he's able to do most things on his own. It's really helped him learn patience and that things must be done in steps to work properly.

You get what you pay for, and I know that many people will love this game and I can tell it's quality, but it's made for an unnecessarily narrow demographic. I'm not much of a creator, but I really enjoy the idea of playing other people's creations. I have nearly 500 hours into Mario Maker 2, and at least 450 of those hours were from playing the Course World and the multiplayer versus. While you can technically play other people's games here with the codes and third party sites, there's no in game engine to browse other people's levels. In my opinion, that's a massive oversight. However, the lessons are fun if not restrictive, and it's an expansive tool. For anyone looking to create, I absolutely recommend this game.

Very interesting concept, makes it easy to create some prototype games. More advanced ideas may require a bit of computer science knowledge to implement. Overall this is a great game to introduce the basic concepts of computer/game programming.

My 5 year old likes the game. It’s definitely nice to spark his creative side. Only downfall is you have to sit with him and play because you need a little more than a basic reading level to play. Overall I like the game.

My 13 year old grandson is so happy with this gift. He has autism and is very hard to buy for. I hit a home run.

My son is 6yrs old and loves playing this game and creating his own video games! Great tool to teach kids coding! Also a great tool to spend time with him as he can’t read yet! Super fun and creative game!!

I'll be honest I did not buy this to spend much time with the creating games process, I bought it to be able to play what other people have made (which you can only do by searching online for ID codes because Nintendo likes finding ways to make things difficult for the consumer). This is aimed at kids and wants to teach them how to make games and let their imagination run wild. Unfortunately the tools provided are more limited than I thought. Don't expect to make full length games, at best you're just going to make little tech demos that are fun for maybe 20 minutes.

This game allows my kids to be creative. A must-own for Nintendo Switch owners with elementary school-aged children.

My son regretted getting this game and found the tutorials and programming system cumbersome and frustrating. He was under 10 years old when he first played this, but he prefers programming sites like Scratch. Some of the user-created games are impressive for what people did with the toolkit, but overall, we found this one a bit limited, both in terms of what it lets you do and what others have made.

I was pleasantly surprised at the options available to build games using this "game". The interactive lessons are informative, although "Bob", the instructor, is quite annoying after a few lessons.

This is a very unique game that gives you the ability to create a game from scratch. Be sure to do the tutorials and you can get creative!

Fun little tool to introduce programming logic, but abstracts a lot of the game dev process away. Would be great for kids or just to play around it, could be useful for small prototypes.
