This is one of the best shows I've ever seen and I have gotten plenty my friends hooked onto it. Since this is the first season, it does pick up a bit slow until about the 4th or 5th episode, but even then you'll want to keep watching more and more. It's definitely not a show you can predict as to what will happen next. Everything catches you by surprise. You need to see this show, there is nothing at all wrong with it!

Last year, this show pulled me into the fantasy world of "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin and the first season on Blu Ray is a great way to either learn so much more about the source material for "Game of Thrones" or to expand on the knowlege of this rich world from the novels. The extras give back story for the show and flesh out things like the histories of major houses, the religions of the world, and they bring to life the stories you can only imagine through memories or dreams in the show and novels. The commentarys on the eppisodes are also excellent, with each commentary from a different team of either writers (including George R. R. Martin) actors (Mark Addy and Kit Harrington just two of the many) and producers (David Benioff and D. B. Weiss) who made the show. The only complaint I do have is that there are only 7 commentary tracks for the 10 episode season. It makes the 3 episodes without commentary seem lacking.

I decided to leave Season 1 with the special packaging neatly wrapped since I was able to watch all the episodes on HBO again. I watched them all when they first aired and I am thrilled with how the story is aligned with George R R Martin's book. It has been wonderful to watch the characters come to life, and many are very close to how I imagined them when I read the books. I am glad they are continuing the series and I remain an avid fan of both the books and the series. Having the Blu-Ray discs ensures that I will always be able to watch my new favorite show even when no one else remembers it!

I love this show (and now my friends & family do too)! When I watched it on HBO, I thought it was well-written, beautiful to look at, and always surprising. The Blu-Ray DVD reinforces this first impression with great picture quality, and its extras add depth to the world of Westeros, the characters within it, and the crew working behind the camera. Plus, cast commentaries display just how funny the actors are! Best Buy had safe & quick shipping--and the Stark cover and good price made this an easy purchase.

I actually like the regular packaging better than this. I should have gotten this at Target where the limited edition Blu-Ray had a bonus disc of extra content. Best Buy dropped the ball on this one. My 5-star review is for the the Game of Thrones content only. The Best Buy exclusive packaging would be a one-star review.

I wasn't that stoked to get started on Game of Thrones but my boyfriend was super stoked as he had read the books and loved them. After watching the first episode though.....I was HOOKED! Acting is terrific....how can you go wrong with Sean Bean!? Love him! Its very bloody and has nudity in it so if you're not into seeing that kind of stuff it is definitely NOT the show for you.

I highly enjoy this series. The acting is superb, the writing is superb, and each episode builds a grand saga. The extras on the BluRay are nice and include an enhanced viewing of each episode that tells you the location of and the characters included in each scene. It helps you to learn the land and all the different families in the series.

This is Raw! Violent, Sexy, and probably the way it really was if there was such a place. It holds you to the end in suspense. I just wish they would come out with Season two much faster. Why does it take a whole year to come out with the DVD? Can't wait for Season two DVD. HBO costs too much to subscribe when I hardly watch TV.

I started reading the books before I watched the dvds and am enjoying them quite a bit. The first season on DVD consists of 10 episodes but could easily have been 20. The actors are very well cast, especially Robert Baratheon, Ned Stark, Jaime and Tyrion Lannister. Oh, and Joffrey Baratheon and Arya Stark. The story follows the first book closely, with maybe two or three variances. The sets are great. I thought that they were skimping on some of the action, but I realize after reading further that even the books shortchange the action. You hear about it more than experience it. Still, I love the story. I didn't rate the extras on the dvd very high because I haven't watched them yet. I do plan to. I do recommend the dvds, but fans of the book will buy them without my encouragement.

This series has an ENCYCLOPEDIA worth of extras to go along with the already incredible series! My wife and I couldn't believe how much detail went into creating all of the background stuff. For information about the actual series, see any review online

An incredible and faithful adaptation of the Song of Ice and Fire books, HBO did a fantastic job of packaging a phenomenal show with plenty of features to take you in depth into the series and provide background information.

This was great! I hadn't seen it prior to purchasing the Blu-Ray set. I had heard from friends about how good of a show it was and after watching it, I am even more excited for season 2! I highly recommend this series!!

Excellent edition of the award winning series! Excellent presentation in high definition Blu-Ray! Menus are excellent and has a lot of nice technical features. Would have like a bit more content on the extras.

A friend talked about this show so much I had to pick it up. This show has it all. The twist and sub plots are well played out, so much so that when there is a turn, it comes out of nowhere.

I started watching this show a week before the Blu-Ray came out. After the first episode I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray. I got all my friends into the show and can't wait for Season 2.

If you enjoyed season one, then this is a purchase well worth the price. The quality is markedly better than viewing the series on television and the extras are top tier.

Hands down, one of the best shows on TV last year. Well acted and a good adaptation of excellent books. I sure hope it is renewed until the end of the sage.

This Blue Ray set is one of the best I've seen. It has all the extras you need and none of the fluff. The show is simply awesome. Can't wait for season 2.

I read the book and watched the show both are magnificent very few things have been lost between the two.
