Got it fast at Best Buy in Watertown. I thought I would like the games the best especially the Lost Levels but I ended up liking the watch and the little secrets the best. I keep it plugged in using USB-C next to my gaming laptop. Love it! Best birthday gift EVER!

To be honest, I didn't even open it :) The retro gold packaging and clear sleeve is nice touch! Definitely an item to have in the collection, though Game & Watch was slightly before my time.

It is well worth it if you enjoy the original Super Mario Bros. It comes with 3 games loaded on it and has manual options for volume and screen brightness, the screen is very bright!

I used to own a 1980s Game & Watch Popeye. New one does not feel premium, solid, and heavy as old one. The new one does not have built in stand for watch either. Made in Japan vs Made in China.

I love how nintendo always design their package. This is a great handheld games to add to your nintendo collectibles. Color are vibrant and the time is awesome. The 3 games are awesome. But for the price I would say wait for a sale. But by then it would have sold out as i heard there weren't many to be sold and will run out sooner or later. At 50 bucks, it is close to the price of a classic snes and nes back when they were release. Battery life is good. Volume is controll on the screen rather than a physical volume rocker or button. It is charge with usb type c but no adapter. Sound is great not too low and not too loud. Overall it is a great gift for stockings this Christmas.

It’s well built, it is the same form factor as the original one from the 80’s and battery lasts a long time.
It’s honestly very cool to see hardware like this pop up on the market from Nintendo. (I was born in the 80’s and grew up with the Game & Watch LCD Games, alongside the NES and Super Mario Brothers.
This hits the “nail on the head” (so to speak) for my age range and for the nostalgia factor.
Great Great Great Product, get one if you can.

Awesome portable game. Screen is too small for most people, but I still have my eyesight. The sound and game play is identical to original system. I wish the red buttons were firm red plastic like on original Nintendo remote. But it is intended to be like the Game & Watch games of the late 80's. And they hit a home run, especially with the color screen, the USB-C charging and the battery life. Great Toy to lay around on the table and play a quick level when you have 3-4 minutes.

I've had this Super Mario Game & Watch for a little over a month so far, and it is a very nice way to pass the time. For its small size, it has a very sharp and bright screen. Only 3 games, but with Super Mario Bros. 1 and 2, plus Ball, they are quite fun to play. Also love the watch mode, with Mario counting the time as it passes. Battery life seems pretty decent too, although that will depend on the screen brightness, and how often you play it. I've played it a few times so far, and have only charged it once to date. It includes a micro-USB cable to charge it with.
I do think Nintendo could have done something like price it at $35 for Mario's 35th anniversary, but I'm not really complaining, as it does still seem to be a pretty good value overall, especially when you consider its potential collector status down the road.
Overall, a great job from Nintendo.

I really like the Game and Watch. I bought it with the other Mario anniversary items such as Mario 3D All-Stars and the anniversary coin set. The game and watch is good quality with a great clear and bright screen. The battery life is pretty good lasting a few hours if you play games or weeks if you use it for the watch aspect. The game and watch has Mario 1 and Mario 2 (the lost levels) and ball toss. One thing I didn’t like is it didn’t come with a kickstand like the original game and watch’s did. You’ll need to buy a display stand or something to keep it upright.

A Fantastic Novelty

An amazing Game & Watch system that doesn’t feel out of place next to some of the original units that I still own; there was clearly a lot of effort and passion that went into this. The technology is obviously much more modern with a full color display with two full NES titles and a USB-C rechargeable battery, and they work fantastic. I just wish it had a built-in kickstand like the original units had, which means you have to either make your own or find a custom one elsewhere, but otherwise a fantastic little novelty to celebrate 35 years of Super Mario Bros.

More than a nostalgia gimmick.

This device is more than just a nostalgia gimmick amid the recent next-gen consoles releases. Sure, this can't compete with them, but it wasn't meant to compete against any next or even current-ten consoles. This little device encapsulates the essence of what made gaming great in the first place; it's a revisitation of Nintendo's glory days as they single-handedly saved a dying video game industry in the 80s. You could own history books that detail video game history or you could own of these beautiful devices that pay homage to both "Super Mario Bros." and Nintendo's first voyage into the video game industry with their "Game & Watch."
The device itself comes in a highly portable size that is reminiscent of the critically underrated (albeit understandable) Gameboy Advance Micro, but its screen size is bigger and brighter. It certainly doesn't put too much strain on the eyes. I won't speak about build quality or other technicalities, but the G&W certainly feels as a product of the 2020s where mass production is chosen over legacy quality (it's not a premium device, but it doesn't feel cheap either).
You'll enjoy this little gadget and it is the perfect gift for the holidays. Nothing beats having an isolated gaming system without need to connect to the internet or create accounts, etc. It's just a ready-to-play console with one of the greatest classics in history. I have honestly been playing with it everyday since I go it, even if it's for a few minutes. If you do beat it, you'll probably feel any "Souls" game is a stroll in the park compared to this classic...

this “game and watch: super mario bros” console has a combination of classic design from “game and watch” and nintendo famicom, red casing, golden metal plate, black d-pad, grey option buttons, as well as red round game buttons; also, this console has exactly the same size as classic “game and watch”, nintendo fans must love it! it includes the “ball” game, which was the very first game of “game and watch”, but the character in this version became mario! so it’s a combination of “ball” (1980) and “mario the juggler” game (1991) the “ball” game plays with only 2 buttons (left/right), i could either control it with the d-pad (left/right) or a/b buttons, or even combination of d-pad/a/b buttons there are also 2 super mario bros game included, however i found i’m too old to play mario bros in such tiny 2.5 inches screen, so i sticked only to the “ball” game, i believe “game and watch” console is only good for “game and watch” games, or else it would be a pain in playing much detailed game with it, no way enjoyable to me i was going to use it as a desktop clock when i ordered it, i even prepared a console stand for it! however, i just found it would turn off automatically after 3 minutes idle, unless i plug in the usb-c cable, i was quite disappointed about it, i don’t want a wired clock! it’s quite enjoyable to watch the clock screen running, good way to kill time in watching mario/luigi run around the screen, i found i could create more enemies to make mario/luigi busy by pressing game control buttons, it’s very funny, you should try it there may be surprises when minute changes, also it will show different goodbye screens before it sleeps £49.99 is not cheap for a simple game console like this, but it’s definitely a collective memory of those post-70s/80s kids

A neat, well-built device with some fun nostalgia. I think it makes more sense as a collector's piece than an actual value - there are so many ways to play Super Mario Bros 1 and Lost Levels, including on Switch Online or the virtual consoles of any number of Nintendo's past offerings.
I also think a big opportunity was missed to include the actual Super Mario Bros Game & Watch game - which in many ways was the most ambitious and most impressive Game & Watch title - rather than the reskinned version of Ball that is included.
The presentation and packaging is very nice, but it feels a few steps away from being as neat as it could have been for Game & Watch fans.

Quality all around. Nice display and long battery using a usb C connection. Extremely small so it's very portable. The screen has no protector so you may have to buy a glass screen protector for major kid use. Includes three games and is user friendly for kids from 4-5 and upward. I use it sometimes more than my kid. It's worth the price for collectors as well. This is a limited product from Nintendo so buy while you can.
