Dash cam works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, our cam works well. We have yet to check out recordings. We did upgrade our recorder chip, from 4 to 32 GB micro-SD card.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to enhance my ability to report any accidents. Someone backed into me in the parking lot not one minute after first installing the camera (after the bracket cured 24 hours). Although hit in the side, and without enough force to cause the camera to save the event, I manually saved it, and even though the camera was pointed forward, my car lurched slightly and this was recorded, along with my speed, proving that I was stopped. The offending insurance company accepted full responsibility! Unusual, my insurance company stated, as "in parking lot backing accidents, the responsibility is usually shared". My camera paid for itself in the first minute of use! I was also pleasantly surprised on the quality of the computer-played video. I ordered another windshield mount and power cord to use it in my Motor coach while on trips. I do not recommend using the Garmin dash cam player, as it deletes the video file from the camera when you upload files: Windows "lost" some of mine! Instead, just plug the memory card into your computer and play and save the file like it came from any other digital camera.

Nice unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit a few weeks ago, and so far it works very well. Once in a while for unexplained reasons, the the monitor screen goes white, or more accurately, bright gray with no image present. At those times, I have to disconnect power for about 20 seconds and then re-plug it in to the power and it seems to reset itself. Other than that, it works very well. Resolution is good, and color is good, although not quite as vivid, better saturated and beautiful as my Kdlinks-X1. But my Kdlinks isn't as easily mounted in my car as the Garmin, so it's not being used at present. Otherwise, this Garmin unit works well and should be more than satisfying for most users.

Good camera, VERY poor instructions.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We did a permanently wired installation in our vehicle, and that all worked well. However, attempting to become really proficient with the device has proven to be difficult. The included manual is almost nothing. The on-line manual is only slightly better. The manual states, for example, that the camera will support a 64BB memory card. But, it turns our, according to Garmin, that you cannot format the 64GB card in the camera. It will format a max of 32. Garmin says the card has to be formatted on a Mac, which I don't have. I went back to Best Buy to ask for help, and they wanted $50 to format the card. Poor response! We will figure this out, of course. But when we went to buy another dashcam for another car, we did not buy it from BestBuy and we did not buy Garmin. The above is the biggest gap I have found. However, the menu operation on the Garmin is non-standard, and there is nothing in the manual to help with this. Sure, we figured it out eventually. But, this is problem, in my opinion, that we should not have to deal with.

Good camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The garman 35 is a very good camera. The camera records in either one min sections or it can record constantly, the picture is clear and the 3 inch screen is good for viewing.

Expensive, but quality dash cam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I'm satisfied with this. Video quality is awesome, even at night. There's some delay before the recording starts after it's on. The collision warning is also useless.

the perfect dashcam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The easiest to use dashcam I have. You simply plug it in and forget about it. It handles everything automatically and you never have to worry about the memory card since it records over your last ride.

Should have bought it 2 days earlier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I were talking about buying these cameras for our cars 2 days before I had an incident where I was passing 2 cars doing 25 in a 45 MPH zone and the first car pulled into my passenger side forcing me to drive of the road (to miss her) into the snow bank causing me to spin out and hit car in front of her. Unfortunately the police officer said it was my word against her's and because I missed her and she was not directly struck, I was blamed for the entire accident. (My first accident in 63 years. Thankfully I had accident forgiveness.) We now have cameras in both cars and that will never happen to us again. These cameras have worked flawlessly since we installed them.

This dash cam is wonderful, but a bit pricey
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good, mounted easily on my windshield behind the rear view mirror, you can't even see it! Kinda small so when you handle it you wind up taking pictures and videos you don't intend too because you touch side buttons. Uses a lot of battery power, so I keep mine plugged in and the cord hanging is kind of in the way. For that price I wish it had a two way camera.

great camera for my purposes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a long commute and use this for safety purposes in case of an accident. Picture is clear, you can zoom in while viewing the video in case you need to enlarge a license plate no or such. Love that it has no sound capability as I don't want it to record myself cursing out other drivers :) Turned off the sound for the forward collision alert as it was annoying and my car already has that feature. The size of the micro sd card is too small. I would recommend you purchase a larger one. You don't need to fuss with it. It turns on and off with the car. I would buy this again.

Not bad. Far from the best.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's got high quality of video recording capabilities. Linked to a GPS for where you are/were while recording. Fairly simple format of options of recording. Doesn't record sound. If your music is too loud it will CONSTANTLY 'saving video' from just the bass frequencies. THATS annoying.
