Love the size, but …
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I had the Dashcam 2 before and after a short time it would simply not work right, requiring frequent restarts to reactivate voice commands and eventually to perform basic functions. Enough, and I bought the DashCam 3. The “fool me once …” comes to mind. Garmin doesn’t work with VPN on your phone, but that can be mitigated by turning it off during the initial phase (long enough to get the connection). That applies to setup but also for live view. With that hurdle taken, it turns out that the DashCam 3 inexplicably does not have a free short-term Vault option and if you want your videos accessed via WiFi you now have to subscribe for $10/month or $100/year. Seriously? With size being the only real argument for the Garmin, I feel this is some very this ice. My next cam is unlikely to hold the name Garmin.

Solid dashcam from known brand.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good dashcam, albeit image quality should be better in 2025.

Good while it lasted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The app isn’t the best but I could still access clips if I needed to. Only issue was after 5 months of it exsiting in the car it just stopped turning on. Tested different things to make sure it wasn’t because of the car but nothing ended up working.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device because it was a Garmin and I thought Garmin is good for quality, but I’m here to say that this is the biggest piece of crap that I’ve ever bought. I have tried and tried and try to get it to work. Wi-Fi doesn’t work on it. You go through major steps and finally the device tells you to call Garmin so they can fix it. I won’t be buying Garmin again.

Dont buy! Plenty of better options for way cheaper
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rarely leave reviews but I had to share how terrible of a product this is. Even if the camera shows as on and is recording, it is NOT! Ive gone back multiple times to review footage, and the footage is nowhere to be found. On top of that, the footage that does get recorded takes an unfavorable amount of time to cut and download. I have had this for 2 months, and if I could refurn it I would because to this day I have never been able to successfully download even 1 video. Buy literally anything but this, I hate it.

Terrible app
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible app interface. You can’t even get the vidoes off the camera on to your phone without it taking forever. Other cameras and apps work much better.

Had to do the Upgrade.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was told by Best Buy Staff this would sink with my old Apple 7 phone. It did not because my phone blocked out where I was to push accept as part of the software download. Like Garmin and opter to spend more and get one with its own screen. Will pick it up today some distance from my home. Nothing like shopping at Christmas.

LEDs are too bright!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set-up and picture quality looks good for 1080p, no issues with glare. The biggest problem is that you cannot disable the LED lights and they are VERY bright in the cabin at night time. Garmin needs to update to allow the LEDs to be turned off. You can disable the camera sound from the app but no adjustment option for the LEDs.
