Long battery life (5 days +), GPS, completely waterproof and a great phone interface w/ advanced metrics have left me loving this Garmin Fenix 5S Hands down beats my Apple Watch 2 and I've pretty much switched 100% to wearing my Garmin. Looks great (even for a petite female wrist), great for swimming/pool/outdoor activities such as kayaking and SUP and pretty much any activity you can think of you can create a customized workout profile for. I've had this thing for over a month and I'm still learning what all the features do! The phone interface is great -- gives metrics for all your activity and even sleep. It may be pricey but it will be the last smartwatch you'll ever need. Skip the Apple Watch and just pick this up instead, you won't be disappointed.

This is the perfect activity watch. It's not too large or too bulky and can be worn all the time. It's amazingly accurate and offers more analysis and capabilities than you could ever actually need.

I decided to upgrade to the Fenix 5s from a Garmin Forerunner and I'm so glad I did! The Fenix 5s has everything I need for my activity tracking AND has a beautiful look to it. The quality is much better than I thought it was going to be based on the Forerunner. I did buy the purple Quickfit band for everyday use to keep the white band clean for formal occasions. Although I primarily use it for running, it comes with a lot more activity profiles so I can track my other activities. It is heavier than the Forerunner which I noticed on my first run with it, but I got used to it right away. The GPS tracking is very accurate and it connects fast. I couldn't be happier with this watch! Shout out to Best Buy for having free 2-day shipping and the special financing to help break up the cost.

I read tons of reviews on different watches before settling on the Fenix 5S. It was a bit more expensive than some others but had the features I really wanted, plus I loved the smaller size of it. I am training for a triathlon so use the running, cycling and swimming features. It is so comfortable that I wear it as my every day watch. I still haven’t even explored all the features but it gives great insight on training. Battery life is very good, I charge it every 5 or 6 days. No complaints at all about this watch! At first it kept losing connection with my iPhone but it’s been great now for the past month.

Captures EVERYTHING! Swimming, running, walking. Even captures steps throughout the day. Accuracy is great. Unfortunately, I returned this product and purchased from Amazon, as Best Buy has limited 5S options. Black band and watch not available in summer version (5S).

I usually have good luck with Garmin, and this is no exception. Have had this less than a month and am quite happy with the performance. I love that you can customize with numerous watch faces, It takes a while to get all the settings organized, but i like the display options for running and biking, and I finally can track my swims (using the optional HR-TRI). I have a very small frame for a guy, and any other watch looks ridiculously big on me. The Fenix 5S looks normal, and fits well under my dress shirts for all day wear. The optional suede band looks good if you want to dress it up a little also. The HR monitor took about a week to really start tracking accurately, and the stride measurement is still improving, but it will get there with time. I had another Garmin wrist based HR watch which died after 2 years and it took a few months to get to the point of measuring stride well at different run paces. Overall a really good watch - pricey, but seems to be worth it.

I had the Garmin Fenix 3 and it was a great watch but to big for my wrist, when they came out with the size of 42 I had to have it. The heart rate on the wrist doesn't work as good as the one you wear around the chest but that is not a concern for me. If you get the watch you will not be disappointed. Love it and the battery life is great.

Purchased for the wife to train with. Loves it. Pairs great with the Garmin Running Dynamics pod does additional running metrics. Highly recommend if you are fitness inclined. The size is great and design is nice.

Got this for my wife who is an elite runner. She loves the watch for all its features and the fact she does not need to connect it to her phone. Jam packed with all the needs of a runner

I was hesitant to purchase this watch because of the price. I have had Garmin watches for a while and I was ready for an upgrade...and this was it. I am so happy I bought it. The multi-sport GPS is excellent, the battery life is amazing. I charge it every 1.5 weeks. Additionally,I have small wrists and it fits and looks great. Not bulky or heavy!

I wanted to wait until I had used the Fenix for a few weeks before reviewing it. My primary intention was to use this for running and I did plenty of research before choosing this model. It’s easier to use than I thought it would be, thankfully. The features I love most are the visible map, the speed workout guidance and the notifications that sync with my phone. I didn’t quite understand when I bought this that I would still need my phone with me but since I decided against the Garmin 645 music trusting its reviews, I need my phone for music anyways. I’m hopeful that Garmin will merge with a music app soon but you can control the music on your phone from the watch without an app for it. I still use an app on my phone to track my running and find that the watch reads sometime up to a full minute per mile behind my current pace. By the time my run is finished it all calculates accurately though. So far I have used it for running, hiking and timed exercise activities but have yet to take it in the pool for laps. I’m sure many features remain for me to discover and use, but so far I am completely satisfied with the Fenix 5S!

The Fenix is an excellent watch for running, swimming, and gym machines. I love the ease of selecting the appropriate activity. I had a Garmin 735 before this one and I thought I was in love, but this Fenix has out performed my expectations. The reason why I gave it 4 out of 5 starts is because the watch is heavier than the 735.

I purchased this watch for the style first and function second. I have several garmin watches, and they have all been great. I wear this watch all of the time; runs, hikes and swims. It's a really great watch

Love it. Looks great, Wether sporty or dresses up. Can swim with it, can track all activities at gym an even has made steps challenging a fun game with my husband who also hasn't same watch but men version.

This watch has many great features, but lacks some functionality with it's accessories. First off, the white band is really hard to keep clean and continually look grungy. I recommend you go for another color band. The running pod accessory is a great concept to go with the watch, but once you have the data from your runs, Garmin does not give you any means on exactly how you can use that data to adapt your running style. So, what's the point? It's now just all numbers. Lastly, in order to use other features, you have to purchase the chest heart rate strap versus using the wrist heart rate monitor the watch already comes with...why have 2 heart rate monitors? The reason I bought this watch is so I would not have to wear a chest strap. I was disappointed that I could not use all the features without the strap. All-in-all it's a great watch, but some of the features that are most important to me, and part of why I purchased this which, I cannot use.

Love everything about it. Despite that the battery life for this is shorter than the fenix 5. I couldn’t complain! Love that I can add miles to my treadmill activities and it’ll calculate the steps for me. You can add a top favorite apps then your additional apps. You can always remove it.

I love this watch! I am still learning how to use all of the features that it has to offer! It is expensive but worth the money so far.

I purchased this watch along with the Forerunner 235 to see if the price made a difference and it certainly does for quality. The Fenix is solidly built with stainless steel back and I believe the buttons are as are well. Looks sharp on the wrist and can be worn all day, not just for tracking exercise. The running features are awesome. I switched over from a Fitbit and couldn't be happier. If you're a serious runner it's worth it to pay for this watch.

I originally purchased the Fenix 5s but it ended up being too small (with my eyes at my age, I couldn't read the screen well!). So I returned the 5s for the 5 and it works perfectly. Not to large (I had a Fenix 3 previously and it actually looks much larger), but all the capability with ease of use and the integrated heart rate monitor. I now have a Garmin that I can wear all of the time instead of when I just swim, run and bike.

Great watch. Excellent features and battery life. Easy to use.
