Rock solid watch with accurate HR readings

Solid watch that seems indestructible and appears to give accurate HR readings with chest strap and HRM. Still learning about all the features, which takes some time to get used to after becoming familiar with the Polar system. In regular mode, battery life is impressive. Watch is not for everyone due to high cost compared to other options, but I'm not sure I'll own another fitness watch for a long time because this one had everything I wanted and has performed well. In other words, if you can afford it, I think it's the best all around fitness watch/HRM available.

    PERFECT TRAINER/SPORT Watch!

It does everything you need to track basically all training activities and then Some. You can even use it as a remote control to take photos of your android phone. I just can not take it off. Tracking my sleep HR. Controlling my Cadence and Heart rate virtuously real-time in training. Pair it with a HRM-RUN or HRM-Swim and you are completed with all the stats to improve and elevate your performance. GPS is great for staying on route and tracing back your path. It is Sapphire Crystal. Maps visibility from Finex 2 where taken off but there are a few option using your Smartphone to see the map on your Fenix 3 HR. And you can see your messages and email notifications. And see the incoming callas and answer them without taking out your phone when training with headset. It is a AWESOME Training TOOL.

Absolutely love it. Comfortable to wear. Very good battery life. Accurate GPS. The built-in HR monitor is very good, but tends to read slightly lower than actual rate. I definitely recommend it.

I’ve had the Garmin Fenix 3 HR now for about three weeks and love it. GPS tracks fairly accurately, the HR Monitor seems to be accurate as well, and there are tons of features. The face can be changed to almost anything you could want and the phone app that pairs with it works well a well. I was concerned with the size of the face being too big because it is rather large but I quickly adapted to it and like it too. The waterproof claim is true too. I’ve had it in the water plenty of times with no issues. The battery last me about a week on one charge and that’s with using the GPS to track runs and etc for approximately 30 minutes about 4-5 days a week. Definitely a good buy.

Excellent sport watch, some decent smart features

Let me first start off my saying I'm not a smart watch fan, but have some higher-end automatic watches. I am also previously have had a Garmin sport watch, but this is above and beyond what I am used too..I am extremely impressed with this watch. Let me start off by saying the smart features are extremely limited. You can control music, get texts, answer/dismiss phone calls, see weather, see calendar events but that's basically it. If you want a fully functional smart watch, this is not for you. However, it has LOADS of features for tracking activities, dashboarding information, and trying to provide insight into activities. Battery life is amazing. I recently hurt my foot and haven't worked out for close to a week. The battery is about 50% still since there hasn't been a drain on GPS. If you are used to heavier, fashion, or automatic watches, this is a big departure. However, the crystal display, and the rugged look allows for a lot of flexibility with casual wear. It doesn't get scratches or look as casual as you typically would think of a sport watch. Here are my pros and cons list: Pros: - Great battery life - Really good HR (for wrist deployment) - Loads of activity - Great customization for display by workouts - Very intuitive to use (even without a touchscreen) - Enough "smartwatchness" (made that word up) Cons: - Display could use some help, it does the job, but it could use refinement...especially in color - Size is uncomfortable under long sleeve/button ups - Some customization won't work on the watch, need the phone app Overall, I would say this watch is a very good buy. I got it during Amazon Prime Day and Best Buy was price matching, so I'm very happy with the price I got.

I purchased this fitness watch due do the always on screen. The battery life is excellent. Can usually go for 7-10 days if I don't use the GPS feature. A bit bulky, however light.

I got the watch for the heart rate monitor and running. It does a good job of tracking my runs, I've been using it to monitor my heart and sleep also. The charge life is good also. negatives, the screen is dark and can be hard to see.

Battery life is great, over a week per charge. Heart rate monitored more frequently than Fitbit or Apple Watch. GPS is great! Calorie count is same as other watches I’ve used.

    Why buy an I watch

It is amazing. Why buy an I watch when this does the same thing is. Is water proof, battery lasts a full week with major use of GPS and all day long heart monitor on. The only slight down side and reason why not 4 stars is the screen brightness. You don't get an option on how bright the screen is but u do get an option for when u hit the light button. I would like the screen to be a little bit brighter but it still works great. Crazy amount of options and the golf app works amazing. I tested it against my Lazer range finder and it was spot on.

Market has been flooded by smart watches. These devices are being pushed by the large marketing based companies such as Apple. The garmin fenix 3 is the hidden gem. Perfect middle ground for those people that are not early adopters of smart watches but do want some more capability on there wrist. Co-workers have apple products and they are always asking about my fenix. Classe looking and unique platform. Certainly, Geared towards health and wellness. However this watch offers the core smart watch functionalities: Calendar alerts and texting notifications. Outdoors people will not be disappointed. Product is rugged and can survive in the elements. Water proof, sapphire glass is strong and band is comfortable. Battery life is untouchable compared to other wearables. Easily get more then a week from 1 charge and that's with moderate use of GPS features, notifications and sensors. Screen is great in regardless of environment. The drawbacks are the size. Really not an issue for me because if you want this much technology on your wrist then something needs to give. There is an Issue if you want to wear the watch to work. Watch does not fit under the cuffs of most dress shirts. I also do not like that the watch face is flush with the bezel. Has not created any problems for me this far, but it is easy to hit the watch face on surfaces during course of the day. App is also easy to use and intuitive

I have tried many products in the "wearable" category and this one takes the cake! Accurate, easy to use (once you get used to using buttons rather than touch screen). Battery life is incredible (over a week). I've already had one colleague purchase it from my recommendation and he's thrilled! Top it all off it's really waterproof! The Chrystal is very durable as well!

Overall - I was looking for a combination gps, workout, attractive watch - the Fenix 3 fits the bill. Positives: - Battery life if you don't use the GPS a great deal is about 6 days, that includes continuous heart rate and daily workouts with a weekly run mixed in. - Looks - Although not a small or slim watch, it is very attractive and since the face can be customized, you can make it look "classy". The included watch band is the standard plastic and I replaced with a dark brown leather band - I get numerous compliments on its looks. - Function - there is a learning curve as you work between widgets and apps, but after a few days of continuous use the menus and button functions are easy to remember - again, can be customized to make it easier. The built in heart rate monitor is not accurate during workouts (this is where the -0.5 comes from in my rating) so I purchased the chest band separately for use during workouts. The bluetooth connection is simple and works well. Negatives: - Price - definitely more expensive than a similar SUUNTO, but has built in heart rate and sleep monitor, which was not available on any SUUNTO systems when I purchased this watch. I believe the heart rate monitor should always be included, not just with the Sapphire bundle. - Included watch band - if you're looking for something classier, you need to spend more money and get it separately. Overall - I'm very happy with my purchase.

I work a lot with my hands, i needed something that could keep up and take a hit or soak. I'v looked into other options and as flashy as they were nothing seam to hold up to what i needed. This watch fit both work and playing with my kids. i didn't need to worry about rain or swimming and could take the scars of work. More options then i need but the main options of steeps, heart, and water resistant up to 100M were key. Music controls, find my phone, and compass are just added awesomeness. It's more price wise than LG or Samsung but I'm not babying my watch to keep it from getting hurt. Setting up options or menus took a bit but overall takes care of what i needed. I do wish it had more alarms and a way to link things online like fitbit.

I've had and tried almost all fitness watches, from pebble, fitbit, Moto 360, Asus Zen and Ms band 1 & 2. Fenix 3 by far is the best looking, feature packed manly watch. I was debating between the Suunto and and the fenix 3. I am in the military and most of my friends have the Suunto. I'm glad I got the fenix3, I use it for biking, swimming, track steps, sleep etc.. did I say it looks good on the wrist?.. =)

My Fenix 2 battery was dead so needed a new watch. Planned to get the Fenix 5 until I saw this was on sale. Turns out it has nearly all the features of the Fenix 5 so really happy with my purchase. It's a significant upgrade from the Fenix 2 with color watch face, built in HR monitor, step/stair trackers, sleep tracking, etc. Buy it!

I have only had this watch a few days and I'm already in love! This watch has so many features that it will take me a while to learn everything that it can do. I was previously wearing two Garmin devices, one for GPS and one for steps and sleep, I absolutely love that this watch does all of that and MUCH more!

Great experience. Initially, I found the display a little dim but great visibility under the direct sunlight. HR works great, no more bands to wear. This product is awesome if you're doing sports like running, biking, etc. I recommend Acti-Face if you're looking for a good sporting watch-face. Also, there're are hundreds of Data Apps and watch-faces you can download from Garmin to change the aspect of the watch. This is my wearable watch, there's no need to take this watch out from your wrist as it monitors everything, from your sleeping to your daily activity steps, goals, etc. The battery is awesome. Finally, this is for sport people. If you're an ocasional runner, I don't recommend this watch because it's too much.

It has precise footsteps counting and heart rate monitor. Lots of people say that the altimeter is not accurate is because you need to calibrate it when you have a chance to reach the ocean. Even though the auto calibrate is on, the system makes the measurement based on the air pressure I think so best thing to do is to calibrate at sea level whenever you get a chance. I live on west coast so it is easy for me calibrate it. Great battery, better than I expect. It could last for two weeks when I don't use the GPS and hinking function. It would last a day or two if you download the map and use it for trial. Good enough for me but may be not good enough for professional sport athletes.

I love that I can use this watch to track my miles run or biked as well as monitor my steps. I haven't used it for swimming, but love that it is waterproof, so I don't need to worry when running in a downpour. When paired with a chest strap, I get tons of data on my runs and bike rides. Although I'm not sure I can use both the Fenix 3 and my Garnin Edge simultaneously with the chest strap. I tried that once and something happened to the data on my Edge, but I haven't fully investigated if it was just user error or a problem with the chest strap being paired with two devices simultaneously. The other downside of the Fenix 3 is it's size. I am petite and the watch looks HUGE on my little wrist. It measures my heart rate accurately and is comfortable, but I have to use the absolute last hole on the strap to keep it in place.
