The watch and the app are easy to use and overall user friendly. It tracks heart rate well and the app partners with my fitness pal. The only issue I have is overstating of calories burned during workouts or daily activities. It works well for golfers but your stats get thrown off if you ride in the cart. It has golf dedicated pedometer which is pretty accurate. Unfortunately the main step counter keeps going when you ride so your overall stats get thrown off. Works well for swimming. Golf GPS is very accurate. I compared it to my range finder and was very pleased on 5 different courses.

This was a big commitment to dive into a $600 watch. But I did it and have loved it every bit of $600. I truly use mine. I wear it to work in the construction field. I intend to use these types of items when I get them. I use it to map out my bike rides. And to monitor calories burned. Battery life is really good. I can go probably 5 days or so. Sometimes less depending on how often I have the gps on. I usually just charge it every night so its on a full charge everyday.

I bought the Fenix 3 HR as a mariner for two reasons: 1. never hurts to have an easy way to be able to report an accurate position if in trouble at sea 2. tide tables around the world (I can't confirm this quit yet, but works everywhere I have been so far on the east coast). What I didn't expect was how much I like many of the other features from biking, to walking, to email alerts without having to pull your phone out. I think it is a great watch and worth the high price.

I absolutely love my Garmin fenix 3HR. Have been looking for one of these for a while and Best Buy had the best price. The Geek Squad even helped set it up. Love the customer service.

Needed a new Garmin for running and this seemed like a good fit for an everyday watch too. I have been wearing every day since Dec 2017. Its great! I love that it pushes my texts to the watch. I also golf and the golfing app is fantastic. I probably only 10% of it possible functions but I still love it. I only did 4 stars though because I just wish the heart monitor sensor didnt have to be a little bump like it is. I got used to it but if i could change one thing it would undoubtedly be that.

GREAT CONCEPT – POOR EXECUTION

Over the years, I have used a number of fitness tracking products including Timex and Polar which have fewer features than the Fenix 3 HR. The Fenix 3 HR seemed to have all the features, primarily GPS, combined into one unit. The Garmin apps have a wide range of applications and are more than adequate. However, the unit has several problems:
1) The screen as noted by others is very low res and dim. It is difficult to see and the colors are extremely faded even at maximum brightness and with auto light feature turned. The advertising images of a bright screen are very misleading.
2) The wrist heart rate monitor is very erratic even after trying a number of positions and tightness on wrist. I ordered the chest strap monitor which partially solved the problem.
3) The unit freezes periodically and requires reboot.
The good news:
1) Multitude of apps for a wide variety of fitness routines including running, biking, etc. available through Garmin Connect IQ.
2) Great summary of activities through Garmin Connect.
3) GPS works well.
I expected more quality from a Garmin product. I would recommend looking at other brands before purchasing a fitness tracker.

I wanted a GPS watch for hiking and biking. It had a hiccup early on when the HR monitor wasn't changing, but it worked properly again after some toggling it on and off a few times. It tracks distance decently on the road, but for mountain biking with many switchback it will have greater error. However, that is expected and not meant to replace a cycling computer for distance. Still exploring its options. I got it on sale on Amazon Prime day as Best Buy had a matching deal.

I recently started running half marathons and was interested in getting a fitness watch to help me track my times, run distance, heart rate, etc. I did a lot of research on the fitness watches currently available and felt that the Garmin fenix sapphire 3HR was the best way to go. It's a little pricier than the others on the market, but well worth the investment in my opinion.

The watch is great, has every functionality that one can want in a smart watch and is very well made.
It can be a bit big though if you have a small wrist.
Try it once before you buy

I purchased this item looking for a smart watch that offered all the tracking modes that I needed for running and biking as well as gym workouts, this watch did not disappoint. It has multiple tracking modes to fit most needs if the active person. My one complaint is that it is a little cumbersome negotiating between modes. A touch screen would serve it well. Over all I am very pleased with the purchase. I would recommend this product for the active person.

Great watch, one too many functions; however, not accurate as my Garmin forerunner 230. Garmin - fēnix® 3 HR was under the impression that i was walking while i was driving to work.

After a injury that took me out of running for 2 years I wanted something to track my progress and keep me motivated. This watch has fit the bill so far. It's easy to operate has decent battery life and is stylish enough to wear to the office. It is a little big and if I was a baller I would have gotten the Fenix 5 sapphire. The GPS stopped in the middle of a run once but it hasn't happened again. Other than that I haven't had any issues.
