Never want to take it off. Excellent sport watch which is highly customizable. You can create myriad different workouts which can be preloaded. I find the HR monitor to be pretty much spot on. Great purchase.

This watch has everything short of a touch screen. I had no real need for a touch screen and the features are surprisingly easy to access with the 5 buttons located on the sides of the watch.

I had a Fenix 3 which I loved. The Fenix 5 has a heart rate monitor which swayed me. Somehow even with the HR monitor the watch is smaller. It's my every day watch as well as my road cycling computer. It's not cheap but for me it's worth it. I get a week between charges and I cycle for 1.5 hours 5 days per week. An Apple watch needs daily charging. Too much hassle for me plus the Garmin looks different. And cool!

I have reviewed many watches brands, you name it, the Fénix 5 is so far the best of all fit watches, phone watches, the design look and feel is outstanding! You got to read the manual though, watch videos to learn how to use all the features and avoid getting navigating in it. Mi coworkers and golf buddies are jealous when I show off my Garmin Toy... Merry Christmas all!!!

I really love this watch. I wore this watch for up to 4 days and the battery was still at 80%- it does have a long battery life and seems to have accurate steps tracker, stress and sleep. Even though I like this watch so much, I just feel like it's not for me, it's for people who are on the go and very active. Only thing I didnt like about is, it was having a hard time connecting to my android phone. I dont get a call or message notifications then again, maybe I just didnt know how to fix the settings.

You get just about everything needed for an activity watch. It’s much bigger than my Apple Watch but does more with features that are more reliable and doesn’t require 3rd party apps. Battery lasts for 8 days with notifications and activities tracking 6 of those days. Everything just worked for me once I got used to the interface and no touch screen.
The only con is the price and seeing the screen in low light requires using a light button. So the screen is better on the Apple Watch and gear s3 but wasn’t a deal breaker for me.

Had the Garmin 310xt for 5 years. Decided it was time for an upgrade so I purchased the Garmin Fenix 5. Excellent for recording data for almost any activity. Love the wrist heart rate monitor..it is pretty accurate, but at times it is not. Still beats the heck out of an uncomfortable chest strap. The Garmin Connect app is convenient as the data is sent directly to your other devices...phone, laptop, ipad..etc.

This is an outstanding multisport gps watch. I'm primarily a runner, but it's nice to have the additional capabilities built into this watch as well. I was worried that it might be heavy, but I really don't notice that I'm wearing it during my runs at all. The device is very stylish, seems to be accurate, does it all, and has outstanding battery life. I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of price. Yes, it's expensive IMO.

There isn't another watch like this in the market today. Measures and dashboards any and all stats that matters (and many which I have no idea how to use yet). Charge lasts all week, syncs perfectly with iOS, displays iPhone notifications, customizable display.
Buttons and screen takes some getting used to. Pricey but worth it!!

Was between this and an iWatch. I'm glad I bought this. Great fitness tracking, and amazing battery life. Battery lasts for over two weeks between charges. Also enjoy using it for yardage on the golf course. Would definitely buy it again. Bought a glass screen protector for watch face and no issues seeing anything.

This tracker is easy to read day and night, battery life is excellent and recharge is fast. The tracker will provide all sorts of information. some features I am still learning. GPS shows where you have excercised very accurately. This tracker is helping me with cardiac rehab following surgery

Best sportwatch on the market but more expensive than it should be. Don't mistake it for a smartwatch but it does have some of those features and they work well. Battery does last 2 weeks between charges as advertised. If you can deal with the price - buy this watch you won' regret the purchase.

I was surprised with how good the battery life is. I have always been a garmin fanboy so take it for what it’s worth but very solid watch. I thought about getting the sapphire and glad I didn’t not having any issues with wear. The band is comfortable.

Garmin pulled it all out with this watch. This is a 110% fitness focused device with just enough smart features to keep you connected. Bands are super easy to change, you have a variety of watch faces to choose from & the battery lasts 2 weeks. I’m beginning to train for a triathlon and this watch collects a ton of data and displays it in a simple/easy read way. Watch is high quality.

Great upgrade from Fitbit

I upgraded from the Fitbit Surge and have been very happy with my purchase. I was most concerned about the size of the watchface relative to my wrist, but it turned out to be worrying for nothing.
Overall, the big positives are: much better battery life (getting a little more than 10 days while still using other features including all day sync); customizable watch face (albeit a relatively limited number to choose from- still found a few that I switch around); color screen (don't really use the back light unless it's late at night); useful stats to give more feedback about my runs (have really liked seeing my stats like VO2 and training performance improve); not having a touchscreen (don't have to worry about stopping my timer accidentally like on my Surge); GPS system (not dependent on my phone); comfortable watch band with 2 retaining loops (been wearing it constantly except in the shower and no rash like my Surge)
The negatives would be : price (wish it was less expensive); Not many 3rd party apps that communicate (ie, Fitbit and Garmin); no touchscreen (user preference if it's good or bad)
Glad I waited for the Fenix 5 instead of getting the Fenix 3. Would recommend it to others if they can get past the price.

Bought it primarily for the longer battery life and use on running and trail running. The buttons are not quite intuitive, but the watch has high functionality. The size at 47mm was about as big as I was comfortable with. I preferred the 5X, but it was too big on my wrist. I was hoping for a sapphire version, but could not find one in the short time frame that I was looking. Hopefully, the non-sapphire version holds up well. I need to check out the GPS, vs GPS + GLONASS + Ultratrac settings. Using GPS only, led to inaccurate distance tracking on a recent 20 mile hike. My Fenix 5 showed +10% mileage compared to 2 friend's Fenix 3 watches with GPS + GLONASS.

Got this for Christmas for myself :). It is an amazing watch. The amount of data I can get from this is fantastic. I go to the gym 3-4 days a week but am not a fanatic. The running and heart rate information is very helpful for me as I try to improve as a runner. Still tons of data and info I haven't even delved into yet. I was a little nervous on the size of the watch as I do not have big hands or wrists. Once I got it and tried it on I was fine with the size and weight. Very happy with my purchase!!
