This item was purchased as a gift. It is quite pricey, but it seems to be holding true to its durability claims. Battery life is great and it tracks ones fitness statistics well. Still a bit hard to read in daylight though.

This is the greatest fitness tracker I've owned so far. After the failing of about a dozen or more various fitbits, it was time for a change. I got so tired of f going to Best buy and exchanging fitbits every few months. This watch is ten times what the ionic was. Smooth operation, easy to learn functions and a battery that lasts a minimum of 9 days while exercising everyday. And as much as 13 days when not working out too much. Its a beast of a battery and awesome to not worry about charging your watch all the time. The bonus also is that this watch connects to a chest strap heart monitor for great heart monitoring wxoerience

Garmin has given a truly remarkable watch in many ways. I have gone through multiple fitness/smart watches over the past few years. I will emphasize fitness watch over the smart watch. It has more sports and activities in it than most others. Its stand alone GPS is amazing for hiking and trail running. I think a truly favorite feature for me is battery life. It lasts for 2 weeks with single charge. Although that I’ll shorten with activity tracking. Golfers will also enjoy this. It tracks location and strokes to ensure you can get a proper feel for your fairway and approach. Upon review of the activity on your app, you can see every stroke and track yardage as well.

I was very skeptical getting a "smart" watch at all, but really wanted the mapping features of this watch, so I went ahead and purchased. I have been extremely pleased. It is by far the most accurate tracker I have ever encountered; the GPS is accurate enough to show me which side of the street I was on at every point in my run/walk/bikes. It also is extremely useful for step count. In addition, the tracking feature has already saved precious time during a trail run, where I needed to use the "track back" feature to return to a prior point after getting lost. Regarding size; I have a fairly smaller wrist, but this really does not cause too many issues due to size. The Fenix 5 is probably the PERFECT size, but the added map features definitely needs the extra size. Very happy overall. Thanks!

Stoked on the watch. I bought it on sale. There are new Garmin watches on the horizon, but too fancy for me. This watch has all the options I want without any fluff. I’ve had it for a month, so still learning all the ins and outs, but the interface is pretty intuitive and the app is solid. Well built, no concerns about damaging it through normal wear at work and during PT. My one small gripe would be the band. This watch needs to be worn snug for best data read and the result is a case of stank-wrist if you aren’t careful or wear it for too many consecutive days!

Great watch! Light weight and plenty of functions to do what you want and a few more that you didn’t think of. Switched from an Apple Watch mainly because of battery life and I wanted a bigger watch. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase even at the higher price point.

I was undecided in betwwen the Nixxon mission and the Fenix 5x so I decided to go with the 5x even though it was $300.00 dlls more expensive at first I wasn't too trill since the resolution on the watch is kinda dim compared to the s3 I already have and the fact that it wasn't touch screen was a little more disappointing however once I kinda figure it out im so glad I decided to keep it. I had purchase several fitness watches in the past and this one is by far the best one I ever own. The battery last me about 10 days compared to the other smart watches only last a day or two

This thing is fantastic! Still figuring out how it all works, bought the Tempe, foot pod, hr Tri , runners pod, and 6 different color bands. Then went back and bought the scale! Works very well battery last longer than I expected. I would buy it all again.

Have had for almost a month now. Wear it night and day. Just completed a half marathon with it. If you like data, this thing will make you better. Battery is awesome. And love the Phone notifications. Specifically love getting the notifications on my watch For viewing but not being able to respond. Allows me to leave my phone in another room at night...which has improved my sleep. All around....highly recommended for high end athletes. If your not hard core, probably don’t need all the features.

Biggest issue is with HR as it has not been very accurate. I have tried the recommended suggestions through Garmin and it's not close to being accurate (way way low) at CrossFit and on runs it runs definitely on the higher side. I have had a little issue with the GPS (use with Glonas) as a couple days runs have been off. I've also seen inaccuracies with my current pace just being off. Today my second mile kept me at an 10:30-11+ minute pace but my avg pace stayed steady at 8:15 from my first mile. Those were the main two reasons I bought this watch was strapless HR and GPS reliability and it has not impressed. The good and the third reason I purchased was battery life which is great. The watch also looks great. Yes, may be a tad on heavy side, but I think I'm getting used to it. I have not rushed into the review to see if this works out. I've had the watch 6 weeks now and use it as a fitness tracker as well and am constantly using this for workouts as well. For the price I paid in upgrading from the Forerunner 620 I have not been overly impressed but hopeful through updates accuracy issues will be cleared up.

I had been going back and forth between the fenix 5x & the forerunner 945, going with the former. The price was about the same, the deciding factor being that the fenix 5x has a larger face and apparently easier utilization of functions. I swim, bike, run, hike, and walk regularly, plus mountain biking and snowboarding and mountaineering whenever I can. The battery lasts for days, and that's given that I'm using GPS every single day. I couldn't be happier.

The smart watch / fitness tracker is pretty good. I think it should be 500.00 instead of $700.00. But the battery is pretty good it last at least 7 days and that is pretty good from coming from a Apple Watch 0. The watch does what it does.

The Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire is probably one of the most expensive smart watches you can buy on the market these days. Is it worth the money? Besides step tracking, the watch also comes with a barometer, altimeter, GPS tracker and a ton of apps to track your workouts. It can track the use of different machines and weight lifting, including tracking sets and reps. While glitchy, it doesn’t appear that steps and reps consistently, it will mostly definitely improve the quality of your workout sessions. I’ve been wearing it fanatically for about a month now and each battery charge lasts about a week, so that’s fantastic. Hopefully, the watch lasts for many years to come. In conclusion, if you have like 700 bucks to spend for a smart watch, go ahead and pick it up, for me it seems to be worth the money.

I bought two watches, one as a present and other for me, I really liked them but have to returned one because it’s quite big for me as woman, even when I have my wrist isn’t so small. Think looks better on men because the seize I would pay full price for the watch but fortunately I paid the half on Black Friday, so Was the best Christmas present under the tree for a really very good price The material is tough, excellent for many sports Whatever can imagine, garmin have it

Moved over to this from an apple watch due to all the various additional things you could track/do as well as one of my biggest things was battery life on the apple watch. Got tired of having one more thing to remember to plug in every single day or it would die. Regularly get about 9 days of battery life with this device. Going up into the mountain back country to snowboard or ride snow mobiles great to be able to have map function right on your wrist without a standalone unit to see right where you are and need to go. Very impressed

I upgraded from a Garmin Fénix 3 (non hr) and this watch certainly is worth every penny I spent for this upgrade. In the past I tried Apple Watch and suunto watches but nothing like Garmin. Fénix 5x has built in maps and gps. You don't need your phone around. It auto calculates up to three routes when you ride your bike or run or hike no matter where you are at and guides you. Also the new way of changing bands in seconds is amazing. It's built tough and rock solid. Garmin did a wonderful job for us sports enthusiasts out there. Thank you thank you thank you Garmin!!

I did a lot of research before I bought this watch and I wasn't let down. It is easy to use, very functional, very durable and the battery last on average 2 weeks for me. If you are looking to purchase this for yourself or someone else, you won't be disappointed. I only have it a 4 because sometimes the sleep tracking doesn't always track properly.
