One of the requirements of a smart scale I had was WiFi. I tried to purchase a Withing/Nokia scale but it would not work as intended and wouldn't even recognize me without constantly setting it up again (and I hadn't even setup another user yet). The Garmin scale has been flawless upon setup and has never once incorrectly identified myself or my wife. I knew going in that this scale is was more limited on apps that it will interact with. I try to have Apple Health as my primary application that all apps funnel information to. It doesn't send all information over (some of that is Apple Health limitations) but it also doesn't receive information from Apple Health. Garmin wants you to live within their eco system, just like Fitbit. The Garmin Connect app works well and I haven't had any sync issues with the scale.

Scale worked great. I had none of the WiFi or pairing issues other reviews showed. It gives a plethora of information (bone density wut). Loads into the Garmin app auto-magically.
The only thing I really don't like is that other users have to sign up for Garmin's apps too. It was fine for me because I already have another Garmin device. But stinks for the rest of my household. Garmin Apps are ok. Better on Android, I think. iOS notifications are trash and sort-of ruin it on iPhone.

Set up through my iPhone was a breeze. The location is 3 closed doors away from my router, but the WiFi never fails. The weights are accurate IF you stand in the same EXACT spot each day. Any deviation can add 3 pounds! I love not having to manually log my weight every day.

I had the Tanita Ant+ scale but it required me to bring my Garmin Edge every time I wanted to weigh myself and upload the results. I bought the Withings WS-50 but the data didn't transfer to Garmin Connect where all my cycling and workout data is. I'm very happy with the Garmin Index. It weighs me quickly and uploads the data almost instantly to the Garmin Connect platform. All my exercise data is in one place now.

I purchased this scale because it offered better integration in the Garmin ecosystem than similar models by other manufacturers. I have been very pleased overall with the accuracy, ease of setup and use. The only ding that I can make is on switching users. The manual says a foot tap should allow you to switch to a different user. But in practice the window that you can do this is fairly short, and if you don't tap it just right it misses the change. That said, a second or third attempt usually succeeds.
In any case it is an excellent scale overall and the integration with other Garmin athletic products is a multiplier. Ditto for other third party apps such as My Fitness Pal.

This is my first digital scale and I love it! It measures not just weight but BMI, Body Fat %, Muscle Mass, Body Water % and Bone Mass! It will show you your loss or gain and even a graph! Setup is easy. Download the app, create an account, then bluetooth your smart device to the scale and sign on to your WiFi and you're done! The scale connects to your WiFi each time and uploads all of it's data to your Garmin account. Opening their app will also transfer all of it's data to Apple Health if you want to use it instead however the scale will not directly connect with Apple Health.

I'm loving my Garmin Scale! I love that the data is transferred to my Garmin connect. It gives me the accountability and also lets me see a graph of my body weight, mass, ect. I also think it's really cool that you can add up to 15 users to use the scale. Which is pretty awesone especially if you have clients that you're helping. The only thing that took me forever to figure out is that there was no clear instructions on how to actually add different people, the instructions are vague and suprisingly there were no you tube videos either! I finally did figure it out, you have to go to your Garmin connect on your desktop to add different users.

It seems pretty accurate and it is very easy to use. It actually recognizes the person that is stepping on the scale and just uploads all the information after displaying it to the Connect program. I am more app to use the scale on a daily basis now. Before I had to write it down or typing it in the app. Beside the way that all the other apps interact with it, it makes it easy to track calories (food app) and results. Looks a lot nicer, very thin, than the previous scale I had which was one where you had a grab a handle and hold as you use it.

1st have to say love this smart scale. No one does accuracy or Data better than garmin. Syncs with Garmin connect which can sync with my Fitness pal, apple or google fitness app etc.
The only downside is if you have a child or toddler who keeps stepping on your scale will register as YOUR WEIGHT and no way to prevent this since garmin doesnt let kids be added to the smart scale so pain in butt to either store in closet or if you keep it on the floor be prepared to reset it constantly . If you will not have this issue then get this smart scale I have tried many and I will say hands down the best out there.

The Garmin scale is definitely on the higher end of consumer fitness scales. I use it for relative monitoring to watch weight, body fat, muscle weight , etc. it syncs really well with Garmin's Connect App which I use in concert with my Garmin Fenix 3 watch. All in all probably one of the best systems out there. More hardcore than Fitbit (but so are Garmin users in general. ;)) highly recommend.

Does a nice job in measuring weight, BF% as well as other stats. I am not certain that the BF Stats are accurate however they work as a good benchmark.

This scale can do it all! The best part is that it uses WiFi to upload all of my stats (weight, BMI, body fat %, body water %, muscle mass, and bone mass) to my garmin connect IQ app. I also use the Garmin vivoactive smart watch, so I have all my metrics in one place. This scale is a quality product, and from what I've noticed it is quite accurate.

Setup of the scale was easy and quick. Integrates with MyFitnessPal and Apple health. However, something in the integration was overwriting all scale info except weight in the Harmon connect ap. Struggled for 2 months, disconnected Apple health, then eventually the issue randomly stopped! Accurate scale, attractive appearance.

This scale delivers really helpful information beyond extremely accurate weight measurement (we have an old doctors scale in our workout room to compare readings). The info on my hydration level, for example, is really important given I'm a road cyclist who needs that data before and after I ride. The set-up is a breeze to get it linked to WiFI and linked to my Garmin account, add my wife as a user, etc.. After several months, no issues.

As a Garmin user for all my workout devices this was a great addition. Once the setup has been completed and the scale is connected to WiFi the rest is as easy as stepping into the scale each day. The data collected is great, measuring your body water mass, bone mass, muscle mass and calculating your BMI in a few seconds after standing on the scale.
Accurate, consistent, fast and easy to use.

So far the scale appears to be accurate in measuring my weight in an easy to see format. My only complaint about this scale is more about the app and lack of easy cross app data providers such as not directly compatible with Google Fit.

My wife and I really like this scale. Having our information automatically uploaded into the Garmin Connect system is a nice feature to help with our goals. It takes the tediousness of data entry out of the equation for your app of choice (assuming it can sync with Garmin's service).
I use different fitness gear and apps that synchronize with Garmin connect. Having my weight updated daily allows them to give more accurate calorie burn rates.
It is a little expensive for what it does, but if you are bought-in to Garmin's suite of watches, apps, fitness gear, etc... then I think it is worth it so it get my conditional recommendation. As a standalone scale, I would probably go for something a little cheaper. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because of the price of it, I feel like it should be more in the $90-120 range compared to other smart scales.

I had a scale from another vendor but when it quit working and they refused to assist me, I went to the Garmin. I already have several Garmin products and they all work quite well, so this was an easy decision. This scale gives so much more than the other with weight, BMI, body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, and more. Also, unlike the other vendor, this one works!
