Garman needs to make it a little easier to down load. I think it worked but am not real sure

i feel that $90 is too much money for the ability to update my gps on the internet. other than that the product works well. thank you. fred

I was shuffled from one website to another with this and in the end signed up for this that and the other and my GPS maps are still not up to date.

I needed the updates for my gps. This is what I had in mind when looking for a update.

It's a must get for your gps unit. One price and lifetime updates

My first time using it will be next week! Will be traveling to the WI and Michigan border. But in August and my main reason for purchasing this item was for driving to Seattle, WA. Hoping that the GPS will get me there and back home safely and without too many delays.

the advantage of updating maps was not outweighed by the fact that I got only 1 update a year for the maps. The update was extremely long to download but once done, the device was great.

I needed the updates for my maps. And this is what I had in mind when looking for updates.

Could not get it downloaded to my Windows 10 . Had to take it to the Geek Squad to get it to work on my computer.

Was unable to download it onto my GPS. Had to go to the Geek Squad for help and they charge me.

I have an older garmin nuvi device and it was very difficult to load the new maps on to the device. At one point even thought great spent $89.99 for a piece of cardboard and I cannot even use it, but after a few hours of trying was able to download the new maps. Just hope it works.

Had Nuvi without map updates so had to purchase a lifetime card for future map updates. Best Buy had the card. Thank You Best Buy!!

I read other reviews that said it was very hard to install. I had no issues. Installed the update with no problems.

I have not really used it yet but it looked like it was working fine at the store.

No problems getting to Denver and back from southern Kansas!

I am now a member of the club with the others who purchased this card as a web order and it would not activate at Garmin's site. I purchased it in Boca Raton, FL while on vacation, Christmas Eve. On web-sale for $71.99, plus $10 reward certificate, brought the total to $61.99 (from $89.99). The store would not honor the web price, so I was forced to order it via my smartphone while in the store, and pick it up later. When I picked it up at the highly disorganized, chaotic Internet Order service desk, the clerk apparently did not bar-code scan the card since I'd already paid via the web. That's the problem. Per the store Manager, this problem happens fairly often with the Garmin Lifetime Update card. Why? When the cards are sold through the cash register, the clerk does a barcode scan to ring up the purchase. Once it has been scanned and paid for, that particular card is authenticated thru Best Buy's server to Garmin's server. This prevents the easily stolen cards from being used. So, when you get home and log in to Garmin's site, the card has already been validated. Solution - I explained all this to the clerk back home, she did an even exchange for a new card, and made sure to bar-code scan it. Works fine.

The installation process was impossible without finally calling Customer Support. With their assistance I was finally able to get the thing loaded. The problem was that the new "Software Update" would not work in my Nuvi. Map updates were fine and loaded, but the thing wouldn't work. Support finally had me go back to the Older version of the Software, and everything worked properly. Prior to this I had never had any problem w/my Nuvi. Worked flawlessly. I had the unit for 2 years before purchasing the Map Updates. I like the one time Lifetime option, but there were no signifigant updates to my normal travel routes. In all the places that I normally drive where the unit was showing the incorrect speed limit, or that I was not where I was, it still shows the wrong speed limit. In a couple of spots where Construction on I-25 has long since been completed, the unit still shows incorrect data. When Garmin updates their maps, I wonder just what they update? Near my hometown, the speed has been changed from 55 to 60 for 3 years now, and the unit still shows that I am speeding when going 59. Major interstate changes don't show up very quick. A new I-25 interchange, that has been there for 1 1/2 years still doesn't show up. The unit tells me to go several blocks south to get an on ramp, and I can see one right in front of me! All that being said, my dad has the Ford truck with in dash GPS. This thing doesn't even hold a candle to the Garmin. It's hard to use. Difficult to even get an Airport to come up unless you know the exact name, etc. My Garmin gets me there every time! It's so easy to use, and just makes since how it works. Computers may not be perfect yet, but when it comes to GPS, Garmin is the only way to go! The others just fail in compairison. Garmin may need some work on Software and Map Updates, but they are still No. 1!

this item is a lot better and cheaper in the long run then getting the "one time" update. the only disappointing thing (reason for 4 stars) is that you can only update your device four times a year. if you do get this item make sure you use what you pay for. i bought this item for myself and my parents for theirs.

I purchased two of these cards on-line (on sale) and picked them up at the store. The cards work great - when they are activated. Best Buy apparently has a problem activating these cards when you do not purchase them in the store. I had to make a second trip back to the store to exchange them for ones that actually work. One is a gift and good thing I found out now there was a problem before I gave it to the person! The good sale price made up for the aggravation.
