I've used this GPS for a month or so now. It isn't my first Garmin, so I had great expectations for this unit. This product works great, and I love the screen size. The only thing that was a little discouraging was that it didn't come with a USB cable, but since I already have a Garmin, the one I had fit perfectly. It is great to have this peace of mind when you are traveling in an unfamiliar area. Thanks for a great product!

Nice unit can be used on vacation and also has traffic for life. Very long download for US map.

I shopped around for the best quality GPS at an affordable price. I really like this model. I read different reviews and decided this one suited my needs.

This is our families 2nd Garmin GPS and we are very pleased with the paerformance of both .

the box printed is 255WT but the device is 255W. make sure you get the right one

Garmin's product is what as is advertised. So easy to use that my 5 year old can work it.

Overall solid GPS, price and functionality are competitive with other offers on the market. FYI I got it on sale for around 140. The traffic alert feature in theory is nice,however I haven't found it to be very useful. Possibly as more roads are monitored, it will be become better appreciated.

I bought this unit after Christmas and was excited about the traffic feature. However the traffic feature only works when the charger is pugged in. Other than that it is AWESOME!!

You know people can find the funniest things to complain about. "The voice sounds robot like" Dauh! Thats what it is, is it not? It has several accents to choose from. The speaker does not distort. I read every review out there in this price range. Went to Best and bought it. I like it. It does the job. Probably all of them will have a quirk every now and then. I'm new to this so this one gets me there.

I had to return the first GPS I got because you could not enter an address. The folks at Best Buy took it back no questions asked. I decided to call Garmin to see if they could help and the wait time was at a minimum 45 min. It is a great GPS for the price I paid. Lucky I got it on sale.

Ease of use. Lifetime traffic is a great feature for navigating through major cities.

I use this for business and travel to drive to many different locations so being able to save my Favorite addresses is convenient so that I can quickly find them later. The points of interest finder for various things like restaurants and shopping centers is nice as well. It doesn't take very long to learn how to use it and the different features it has. Battery life is sufficient with the charger.

I bought this on sale for $130 and am very happy with the performance for the price. The traffic is not perfect, but it still helps. The user interface could use some flexibility (e.g., I like to have distance to destination on the main screen). Overall a good value and a good product.

Price was excellent!! Grabbed one at the store before Christmas for one daughter and after Christmas *had* to find another at comparable price. Probably will wind up being an "older" out-dated model, but the features and ease of use are just fine. I have the 265WT and this is virtually the same (no blue tooth).

Picked this GPS for a gift for Christmas. It was on sale online only, what a great price, have not seen the price as low yet. Have used the GPS a few times and we are quite happy with it. Very simple to setup at the start and easy to use. Recaluculates quite quickly once you go off the original route. It has "Live Traffic Updates", great when heading into Boston. Great purchase and great find!

For about $150, it was one of the best GPS units around. Nice that it has text to speech, although it doesn't sound as great as I'd hope. Lots of language choices, especially since I understand a few dialects of Chinese and French and have foreign relatives that would appreciate it.

I liked a lot of things about the 255WT including the very clear large screen and the speed and acuracy of the GPS. But one of the most basic reasons that I want a GPS is for the map function. While the street shapes, curves, etc are very acurate, the actual street names while you drive are missing! Imagine driving at night and it's raining and you're looking for street names on the signs as you drive by but you can't see them. That's why I have a GPS so I can see all the street names upcoming or a block over. I also would want to be able to zoom in and out without it changing on me so I can see the layout exactly as I would like to see it with all the street names. My old GPS did this, but had an inferior GPS system (5 years old) and would take forever to lock on to my position. This unit is great for that, but it's very frustrating that I can't see the street names. (if you tap on the screen, the names magically show up but your little car drives off the map! It won't follow you.) I called Garmin and they told me it is hit and miss with their software updates whether it shows the name or not. They suggested I email the software developers my comments. Not too comforting to me. I'll be taking mine back today and exchanging for another model or brand. Too bad because I love everything else about it!

This unit is excellent. I have a Garmin GPS V and this unit just blows it away.
