Positive feedback also highlights the helpfulness of features like voice commands, live traffic updates, and lane assist. A common concern, however, centers around the device's battery life.

Best 6 inch GPS currently on the market

I have been using this GPS for a couple of weeks now, it has been very stable, the screen is double the resolution of the 25xx series, at 800x480. Its screen is bright and has good viewing angles, colors are very saturated compared to the poor 2013 models like Nuvi 2597 or 2557 that have a very poor contrast that the 2014 models have replaced. Screen is multitouch, bright backlight and comparable to the Nuvi 3597 in screen quality. The screen has glass so it's very reflective, if you put an anti-reflective screen filter, that solved it for me. Voice command feature works pretty good, if you are saying an address, say it fast with street name, city and state without pausing and it usually works, if you pause when saying it then it thinks you are done and will usually end up with strange addresses. Navigation is very good with very human sounding and clear sentences, no issues, POI database is huge, now Foursquare POI is also added to it, It has been able to find anything I have searched so far, even some small restaurants that I didn't think would be in its database. Voice volume is very loud, I usually keep mine at 60 % and sound does not distort when you crank the volume to 100%. The traffic receiver is built into the unit so the power cable does not have a bulge like some older models and is small profile. So far when it has told me of a delay, they usually is. The screen is large enough to snap the Up Ahead feature or more driving indicators to the right side of the screen without affecting the display map area. So far I have been happy with all the features ... To many to list.

Overall a good navigator. Very accurate position and maps. Biggest complaint is that the voice command function is not very good. Requires repeated attempts to get it to recognize some words or commands. As long as you don't use this function, you will be very happy with it.

Big sharp screen, fast routing -- but some caveats

I have had many Garmins over the years and this is one of the best of the bunch, with a few reservations. The good: Excellent screen. Big. Bright. Very hi res. As good as most smart phones.; Very fast internal processor means routing is quick and there is little lag on voice commands, which works well as long as you speak clearly and there is not a lot of ambient noise. Maps updates are pretty fast too; New natural voice approach to guidance is an improvement. Turn directions sometimes say "turn at the stop sign" or "at the traffic light" or some other landmark. At major interstate junctions, you get a voice prompt to tell you to use "the right two lanes" or something similar: Improved traffic notification. Still not perfect but traffic alerts now slide out from the left side, pinpointing distance to the delay and how long it is. But is often wrong about delay times and may not warn you until you are already stuck in traffic. Even with faster HD traffic service (slightly more expensive model that ends in (99 instead of 89) .; Improved lane guidance. More realistic representations of interchanges are shown and new live lane guidance helps ensure you are in the correct lanes. But if you live in area with lots of road work going on, expect even the most current maps to be wrong in areas where interchanges are being reworked. It takes quite a while for these changes to be incorporated into the map database. The bad: Routing continues to be the the low point in the Nuvi line. It will always get you there but usually not by the fastest route. As with all recent Garmins, this one wants to keep you on interstates or wide divided highways whenever possible, even with that is often the worst way to go because of traffic congestion. Routing on Garmins used to be quite good. Now it is mediocre at best. But no worse than any other GPS device. Still a pretty nice unit for the money. You can save even more if you can find a Garmin certified refurb.

I had to return this item because it was not compatible with Windows 10, and Garmin refuses to recognize Linux as a viable desktop platform.

We didn't really need a new Garmin, but after we saw this one, we had to have it. It was a great purchase. The screen is so much bigger and brighter. It's much more user-friendly. The Voice Command works flawlessly and saves so much time and is a great safety feature. When I say a command, the response is instantaneous. It is so fast that it's amazing. I love the big glass screen, but there is a little glare when you're driving into the sun, but that is a small price to pay for the large bright screen. I didn't think Garmin could get better but they did.

Bought this for our trip to Florida. Overall it worked well and got us to where we were going. However it did take us on some crazy trips. Used my IPhone map to assist. Between the two of them we got to our destinations.
