This Garmin GPS has many features found in a higher price unit. Love the screen size, the text to speech feature and the lifetime traffic alerts. The kids like the ability to change the speaker's voice. We currently have an Australian guide, Karen. Really helps when we visit out-of-state.

We went on a trip for 4 days and traveled all over San Diego and this little device really came in handy. It makes it hard to get lost. The kicker was when my wife was playing with the controls, and all of a sudden it was speaking in a different language. That really make my mom happy.

I've used this GPS in Tulsa, Kansas City, Chicago, and also locally and have never been misled. It's very easy to manage, and would even be easy for someone who does not work well with electronics. My only complaint is that I wish the price was a little lower, but who doesn't?

Before I bought this Garmin, some reviews mentioned the questionable sound quality. I also have a TomTom 125SE. The graphics on Garmin are superior, but sound quality is important to me since I have some hearing loss. The TomTom's sound quality is EXCELLENT. My wife has perfect hearing, so the quality of the Garmin sound doesn't bother her as much; however, she definitely notices the superior quality and clarity in voice commands with the TomTom vs the Garmin. Bottom line: If you don't mind a muffled like sound quality, go with Garmin............but if sound quality and clarity is important to you, then think about another option. Give it a thumbs up to my superior audiology friends

Love the speed limit postings on the unit! This is our 2nd Garmin, and I love the ease of use. Great little GPS and was a steal while on sale.

Has a tremendous number of sites already loaded in gps. Gives very precise directions and has worked great so far. If you're going on a very long trip though......please make sure to reattach the windshield mount every couple hours just to make sure it doesn't fall. Excellent unit

I've had this since Oct 2010. I've used it in many part of the country with no problem. Always worked with no problems. Directions are very easy to follow. I would still have it if it weren't for my dufus friend who lost it when I asked them to hold on, after getting out of the car. I am purchasing another one. Thats how much I liked it.

Needed a GPS unit easy enough for my in-laws to use - lifetime traffic alerts will be perfect for them since they live in Chicago - got a great price by buying it at 12 AM on Thanksgiving day.

So far I've used this GPS on one trip from Indiana to Florida and it did a good job getting us there and back. The audio driving instructions are really clear and understandable and the screen is easy to see in numerous conditions. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. If there is any negative it would be that the unit seemed to get confused on the best route to take when making multiple turns in a short time period. I noticed this when I would pull off the interstate to get gas, a couple of times it tried to re-route us to local roads versus back to the interstate. Once I turned back onto the interstate it would recalculate and I would be back to the original route.

I recieved my Garmin GPS as a Christmas present from my parents because I'm always getting lost. It was very easy to program and set up. I use it everywhere I go. The only problem I've had with it is that the battery doesn't last long enough and it needs more features on it.

I bought this product on sale at Best Buy and I am thrilled. Never owned a GPS before so I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was able to get it up and running. The only negative with setup is that It took at least 30 minutes for the unit to get an initial satellite connection. Fortunately, that is a one time thing. I've been using this unit during the holidays and it has helped me to track down several locations of a retailer so that I could track down a sold out item. This GPS also directs you to the closest food or gas station. Great for when you are in an unfamiliar area. It also redirected me to an alternate route when I ran into traffic. So far the directions have been accurate - no more getting lost. The only big negative is the dashboard disc. It is supposed to allow you to mount the unit the dashboard. Well mine just comes right off of my Honda Civic. So really the only mount that works for me is the windshiedl mount

Just bought it yesterday and up and running with little or no experience with GPS's. My 5 mile route to work it suggested a different route than I normally take and I avoided a busy intersection. Worth it for that nugget alone. I will buy these as great gifts going forward.

I recently bought this GPS for my husband and we really love it. We have taken a few local trips with it and it has beens great. We have even taken a few wrong turns on purpose and it picks up on it right away and gives us a different route. We highly recommed the Garmin.

I've used this around South Florida from West Palm Beach to Miami, it alerted me that traffic was ahead on I-95, I made a few wrong turns and it re-directed me to where I had to go. I am very happy with this product overall. All of my friends said Garmin is the way to go!

I bought this Nuvi for my other half who was able to get started using it within a few minutes. The screen is easy to see in various lighting conditions, and the features were plenty.

Easy to use, very portable, long battery life. Bought on black friday great deal!!! You gotta luv Garmin YET TO GET LOST!!! The price on this is much better than all the high prices on the other gps. Compare features with prices please. Make the best choice Garmin 255WT

My wife, who admittedly can't find her way out of a wet paper bag, can now readily drive as needed. This product, for the price, works fine in this regard. NOTE: The unit voice cuts in and out if you have the map settings set to north up. The solution is to set the map settings to 3-dimensional view; then it works perfectly. I recommend this unit, it works real well for the price.

I purchased this GPS for the value and features for rthe price. I wanted a basic no frills GPS, and this is pretty much that. It also has the traffic feature, that I was wanting. Has a large screen with many points of interest built in. Great Value and many features.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. Overall it's a good unit with a nice, bright display. The spoken directions sound a little tinny to me, unlike thoese from an older Garmin unit I saw a year or two ago. We live in central Florida north of Orlando. A four-lane street that connects to the one outside my house was completed two years ago, but still does not show up in the unit's map. (And yes, I logged onto Garmin's website and performed the one-time free map download.) I'm sure that Garmin purchases the map databases from another source so perhaps this is not Garmin's fault, but it does cause me to question the validity of the unit's maps.

I purchased this Garmin because I was moving to a new city and it had all the features I wanted in a GPS. I haven't had any major issues with it. However, it freezes when it has to "Recalculate" directions. A new city this is frustrating because I don't know where I'm going, but I would restart it and then it would work fine.
