Bought it over Black Friday, have used it for going to NY and it worked great. The life time traffic updates work great... if only it would work on other than highways. The screen looks great with alot of info on it. Would recommend Garmin over any other brand.

For those reviewers who said this is "garbage" they are complete stubborn idiots. Even a baby can learn how to use this awesome GPS. Highly Recommend over any other GPS in the market & much better than TOMTOM units. Trust me buy this and you will not regret it.

I bought this unit for my wife who had to make a trip to downtown Philadelphia on her own recently. Upon setting it up, we tried it out locally by using it to locate places we already knew. The directions given weren't always the most direct or logical however; it did get us where we wanted to go. There is nothing hard about setting this up for the first time. In fact, it's almost so easy that you don't need directions. Essentially, you plug in an address and tell it to "go". As far as "Garmin" quality goes this is the second unit that I've owned. The first being a GPS for my boat, which also provided waypoints and depth findings. "Garmin" is a fine instrument for the money. In terms of what model is right for you, it depends on your personal needs. Sometimes it's better to simply have what you know you'll need without all the "bells and whistles". Would I buy this unit again? Yes, absolutely.

This unit is clear and easy to use. Simpler than the factory in-car version on one of our cars. Took it travelling and it was great! Haven't figured out traffic portion yet.

I love the auto night dimming feature. It is very easy to find and save favorites. I haven't yet had a chance to test the traffic advisory feature. It's easy to see where you're going, but I think there is probably room to show more upcoming minor streets.

Waited a long time to buy a gps. This one has features that I like.It's easy to use. If you make a wrong turn it recalculates quickly. It shows local gas staions and local businesses.I could view my pictures from my SD card. I would recommend this product.

This is my second GPS, replacing a make which is no longer supported (not Garmin). As with anything, you need to perform some tasks differently. One thing that seems to be easier: Setting a 'favorite' spot for your current location. Ran a couple test trips & it worked fine. When necessary, I was able to alter the route (using waypoints) to match my given route preference. I either have not had a traffic issue or don't have the Navteq in Chicago so I can't comment on this feature. Besides my personal unit I also bought two more, for my college age kids who need to travel to clinicals, student teaching sites, etc.

I live about 30 minutes away from where i work and that is without traffic. the traffic feature is great cause if it bad, the garmin will reroute you around the traffic.

so i bought this for my dad's birthday(55) he gets lost really easily so it was a perfect gift for him. he took it out of the box and figured out how to use it very quickly, after 10mins of wating for the sat's to sync up, he now uses it all the time.

It is real easy to use. I was able to download a free update as soon as I registered it.

This is a great GPS! It tells you about up coming traffic, keeps you informed of speed limits, the moment they change...very cool. I typed in a friend's address (in a very remote location) and this gadget took me directly to his house! I love it!

I had this for about a year and a half to replace my 7 yr old 2820 clunker. The 2820 is still chugging along in my daughters car and my 255 just died. When it worked it was very user friendly and much easier to read than the the older models. My one complaint was the lack of a directional arrow. In order to find out the direction you were driving you had to jump to the trip calculator menu. My old unit had an arrow always showing North. I did think the ETA was much more accurate on this model as well as the routes overall were better. The traffic was very inaccurate but I learned to ignore it. Had this unit lasted like it should I would have given it 3 - 4 stars based on the value. Now I have to call it a poor investment

Just needed a simple Garmin without all frills like resturants, etc. This one is great. Easy to program, easy to understand. Recalculates route quickly if you want to take a different road or miss your turn. Very happy with the Garmin we bought

Again, easy to setup, easy to use, easy to dismount to avoid it being a target of theft. Haven't done any updates or anything to it, I'm in no hurry..... I purchased this to help my kids get around and its worked out great for them. Great unit.

I have had the product for a few weeks now and really love it. The included Lifetime traffic does give you an ad or 2, but it's well worth it. I got it on sale for $129.99 which was a steal in comparison to the other models, even the Nuvi 255w was priced the same. There are only 2 minor drawbacks from my streetpilot 330c. First, there is no volume control except for the "built-in digital on-screen"control. Secondly, The is that the charging cord must be plugged into the back of the unit each time it is to be charged or used plugged in. I liked the feature on the 330c that the charging cord plugged into the base and the unit had contacts that would connect when the unit was snapped into the holder. Other than that the unit accesses the sats very quick and gives great and accurate directions. In my opinion, it's a great unit!

Bought this about 3 weeks ago, works great. Finds satalites right away with out any issues. I only paid $160 as it was on sale so it was worth the money. Highly recommend this product.

I like the accuracy and range of information I can get. For a couple of bucks more they should have included some of the "accessories" , that I call necessities.

Excellent price for the features in this Garmin. It was my present to myself and have only had it in my car twice since Thanksgiving. My wife stole it!! Would recommend to anyone to buy it, very user friendly and just enough features.

This product is great. I use it for just about everywhere I go- even in my local city. It always recommends the fastest way to get to your destination and it has options to avoid freeways, tolls, etc. Great product for a great price!

Simple to use. Easy to attach to windshield. Took it on trip to Vegas, plugged it into the rental car, and we were never lost. Went to 2 golf courses, about a dozen casinos - worked perfectly. Great entry level GPS - Period!
