I wanted to find a tool to replace my use of onstar to save money. This was a great purchase for a great price. I was happy with the many features this model had on my recent road trip.

Not as user friendly interface as old GPS, unable to make multipoint trip planning, no remaining distance to travel

i set the machine for the fastest route and it took me all the way to hell and gone. it was not the fastest route.

I am pleased with this upgrade from my former gps. It does all of the things that I expected when I bought it. The directions for the advanced features could be a little more clear.

Bestbuy is the only place where you can get a traffic version of the nuvi255w. The price was about $90 off the normal price. The unit includes all the absolutely necessary features.

I own a Garmin C240, but this is superior by far. If you own a GPS, you know map updates are rather expensive. It was worth it to upgrade for almost the same price as the map!

My wife won't leave home without it,and it is going to come in handed when we travel this year up north where we vacation,and upper Mich.where they have very few street signs

My first GPS - are my expectations too high? I have to return this unit, because it gives very strange directions. Have updated the SW under directions from Garmin support. Examples: under "fastest" settings it routes me along a suburban road with lights and a draw-bridge!!! instead of the Garden State parkway (NJ). Nearly missed a flight when on the way to JFK from NJ it told my son to pull off the the freeway approaching Verazano bridge and routed him through suburbs for 40 minutes or so. Same again on southbound NJ Turnpike, with about 20 miles of clear freeway ahead told me get off the freeway. (I did not - totally suspicious of any directions from the unit by then. Cannot tell freeways with with express and local lanes, got totally lost on rt78 west of Newark NJ until I pulled off at my exit, then it recovered. Not acceptable to me. It's a shame because generally the unit gets such good reviews from everybody else. Are the bad reviews not published? Do people who give up - like me - not bother to write?

While I like the ease of managing favorites and address searches, I am less than happy with the speed of directions while you drive. Very often you get voice directions once you passed a critical junction. Or it takes forever recalculating when you just missed that critical junction...

Good unit. Slight upgrade from the 225W. My daughter especially liked the French voice for her choice.

i LIKE IT, I GOT IT FOR 120? 130.. good stuff.. if you have money though I will buy something better..

This GPS fits all of my needs. It gets me straight to my destination, and with the traffic feature, it averages the time of arrival. Perfect item all the way around.

Unclicking "avoidances" in setup should solve problem with being routed locally rather than highways.

I got the Nuvi for Christmas and so far I am loving it. The only thing I wish it had was a different voice to select within the English (US) language option...

i enjoyed using this product however i am still looking for my dream product which gives real life images of the roads and videos at a very competitive pricing.

Thought he product is good, trying to find destinations addresses is not user friendly at that price. I could have gotten a cheaper one that did a better job

We used it to go to Groton, CT it kept saying to take 95 which took an extra 40 minutes. We ended up taking friends of ours suggestion to take 287 one of the trips and it was much better. I tried to change the preferences to match our route and then it took us on all these little tiny roads. There should be a way to save a preferenced route.

The unit worked fairly well, but it was very apparent to me that this unit was designed just well enough for it to go out of warranty, and then it completely falls apart. 1. The battary was the first to go. 2. Next the software updates stopped working as they should. 3. Finally the screen stopped working. If you want this unit "for years of use" DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!

SPEAKS ALL THE STREET NAMES - HAS LOTS OF EXTRAS. POSTS CHANGES IN THE SPEED LIMIT. LISTS GAS STATIONS, RESTURANTS, IN THE AREA YOU ARE AT THE TIME.

I bought this GPS for my son for Christmas and he has been delighted with it. It does everything he wanted in a GPS and some features I did not expect.
