I waited a while b4 I reviewed this cause I wanted to see if the negative comments were right. They're not. This thing is wicked pisssa. Works great. When you first turn it on it may take a minute or two to find a signal, but really?.. Who cares? It does what I need it to do. I tested it out on some known trips.. Right on. Tried it on some unknowns, came home checked out different routes on Google.. It was right on. Works great at a fraction of the price of the more expensive ones. So you there in your Benz with the thousand dollar GPS.. Good job there yoo hoo.

Well i bought this as a gift for my husband... Everything was perfectly fine with it, i mean its easy to use, comes with preloaded maps, reroutes you if you vear off course (which is wonderful for my husband). It was great. The only thing that it did that we werent so pleased with was, we barely used it for about 2 weeks and it somehow reset itself. All of our locations were erased. Luckily it was only 2 weeks in so we didnt have many locations on there that we didnt already know.... But everything else was just as expected. i just hope it doesnt happen again.

Needed a GPS for work. Looked at Consumer Reports and this was one of their Best Buys. Really like the wide touch screen; very easy to use. I work on an ambulance, and the "Where am I?" feature is one of the reasons I bought it. At the press of a button it will tell you nearest hospitals, police stations, and gas stations. The traffic feature is hit and miss, but gives you the option to reroute around traffic. Keep it in my car and ambulance all the time, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, quality, affordable, and easy-to-use GPS

This is my first GPS. Purchased online. Worked fine right out of the box. No trouble finding satellites. 3D map view is easy on the eye. Sound is OK. USB cable from my MP3 Player hooked it right up to my PC. Did a software update and free MAP update. That took a while (about 4 hours all together)! But worked fine, first time. Easy to navigate menus and just discovered how easy it is to find a location on Google maps and send it to the Garmin! Great feature! Only had it a few days now, so I can't comment on the durability,but so far, so good. No regrets!

The Nuvi 255wt was the first navagator I have ever used so didn't know what to expect. I was in a strange city and it worked perfectly to get me to pre determined places. I only wish you could over ride some of the directions as it took me on many side roads and would have been easier (after finding my way around myself) to use the main roads. It does re-program itself rapidly if you don't follow Samantha's directions but if you are not already familiar with the area that doesn't do much good except to get you on the right path should you get lost.

The incredible Black Friday price for the 255WT convinced me to buy my first GPS unit. I was very impressed with the bright high resolution screen. The unit recalculates quickly when I make a short deviation from the planned route. It quickly acquires the satellites and its display of the car's location is spot on. Volume was fine at 70% even with the radio on. I was disappointed that the users manual didn't come with it. I know its available online but that is not going to help me in the car. I recommend reading the manual since some of the functionality is not obvious. On the negative side, the unit could not find my son's house even though the subdivision is 10 years old. Google maps could not find it either but Mapquest could. I was able to input it using Lat/Lon. The route it generated for a new store took me past the correct intersection by a quarter mile. Google maps had the correct turn. The user's manual lacked instructions for modifying the generated route. By using Via points I was able to modify the route. The Garmin web site is not intuitive but after some frustration I was able to download a free map update.

255 WT comes with the GTM25 lifetime FM car plug no service fee required and is plug and play. Love the fact i can use Google maps to find an address and send it to my favorites on the 255wt makes it so easy to build a list of places we travel. after updating the maps and installing all the vehicles and voices from my garmin works great. i wish they had a few more voices in english to choose from but not a big deal. It doesnt come with the mini usb cord but so many other things i have use it wasnt a big deal i just borrowed my usb hard drive cord.

Got this GPS because I moved to a new area. Easy to use, accurate maps, and efficient. Point of Interest and traffic is an excellent feature.

This unit is very easy to use, reliable and overall a great value for the price. I read reviews on every single unit with similar characteristics and the reviews all pointed towards this being the best unit for the features and price. They were all correct. Only feature I think is lacking a bit is the buttons on the screen are a bit small and sometimes it is esay to press the wrong letter or number. I am being a bit picky though, since I could have picked a larger unit if I was truly concerned about this. Can't go wrong with this one!

This gps was up and running with minumum fuss. It is easy to use and i have found it to be very accurate. I am really enjoying this product.

I typically shy away from 'gadgets' because of fear of using them, not understanding them or not knowing how to use them. This, however, is very easy to set up and use. Saved me 45 minutes on a 3 1/2 hour trip the first weekend I used it. If you travel much get one now!

Gave to our kids for Christmas and they called to tell us it was the best gift ever. Easy to set up, easy to use, accurate. They love them!

My boyfriend bought the device for me for Christmas. Best Buy is the only place that sells the 255WT (included lifetime traffic). I have used the GPS for about a month. Pros -Easy to use out of the box -The traffic has been wonderful for since i live in Baytown but work in Houston -Found shorter routes on everday driving trips -Metric converter comes in handy for my 9-year-old daughter -Can change the vehicle icon -Caught it on sale for $130 Cons -Takes about 4 hours to do map update (probably don't have to do immediately)

I owned an older nuvi with a small screen. This one is much easier to use and it has more features. I really love the traffic alerts.

The new Garmin has some added features my Magellan didn't have that are nice. It is far more accurate then the Magellan was however. Perhaps the Magellan was just getting old and the maps were out of date. I miss how the Magellan gave me a chime when I arrived where I was supposed to make my turns. That is very nice to alert you in areas where the streets aren't marked well.

I researched the top 3 brands & several models before landing on this one. Received a great price, thanks to the Black Friday sale and have been extremely pleased with it ever since. It's easy to setup, entering your destination is simple and it's even helpful around town, since it shows most of the posted speed limits. When it goes from 55 to 45 to 35mph in less than 2 miles, you need some help keeping track. This unit does it! Haven't had any of the problems given in feedback on other makes/models. Very pleased!

This is my third Garmin device, two others were made as a gift to my friends, then I bought Magellan, boy was I wrong - I had to keep on button for 10 secs to turn on/off device and it was taking a while to lock satellites. This one is a way faster - easy turn on/off button - fast load, fast satellite lock but shows total time - it is useless to me, others also agree.

Easy to use, clear maps, vocal prompts understood and giving at appropriate times. Best feature is the rerouting during traffic. I was heading to a conference and hit traffic on the highway. Before I can panic, thinking I'm not going to make it on time, the Garmin nüvi 255WT GPS immediately told me to take the next exit and directed me through a different route off the highway, making the conference with time to spare. Truly a piece of equipment to have if you travel to places you are not familiar with.
