Very decent GPS for the price. Map updates included.

This GPS was bought to help me navigate the busy Houston, Texas and surrounding area roadways. It was a great help and helped me to feel more confident in a very traffic congested city that I was new to. It was easy to program and even helped me to find places that I did not know the addresses of to place in it.

This item was not my first choice, but somehow I ended up with it. I have always used my phone, but because I just moved to another state and was told by some that dedicated GPS was better than the phone. I see no difference aside from the screen size. It is however, a nice new electronic toy to have.

Another quality product from Garmin. Upgraded from my old Nuvi which was about 7 y/o and I'm glad I did...this is a far superior product, very happy with it. There are times when a dash-type GPS is simply superior to the phone version and the price I paid ($99) made it well worth the purchase. A+++

I traded up from my older Tom Tom after reading reviews from multiple sources. The Nuvi 55 was easy to connect via the inter-web, and the updates started immediately.....Tom Tom wants $79 for a yearly map update......uhh, no thanks!

I have several Garmin GPS units. This model is very easy to use. The only difference between this model and most others is that when you type in the street address ... it gives you all the towns nearby with that street address. Most GPS units have you type in the state and the town first.

This is our first navigation system. We bought this for my husband's new job as a bus driver. He has very basic computer skills and says this Garmin is very easy to use and would highly recommend it to beginners and pro's alike!

I used to get lost all the time while taking my son to his basketball games until I purchased the Garmin GPS. I love it! Should have bought it years ago! Big screen. Voice direction. I can go everywhere now!!!

anything from Garmin is to be recommended, as far as I'm concerned. Never had anything I didn't like. Best price online, that I found when shopping for this.

I bought the Garmin 5 GPS for when I go on trips out of town. I've be on several trips lately & this works great. AND with the lifetime maps update, I don't have to worry about paying for upgrades.

This GPS is great. It's user friendly and great to carry on the road when using different rental cars. Can load frequent locations in address book. Love it!

I love this GPS. It relies on satellite signals. I have yet to go anywhere where I do not get a signal. AND its very accurate!

I bought this to use with my job and I couldn't be any happier! It's very detailed in where to go and lets you know enough ahead of time. A lot of the others tell you to turn at the last second.

Does pretty much what it should. Mispronounces a lot of Spanish names. Doesn't know about quite a few left turn locations in Santa Clarita CA (so sends you on a long U-turn). Otherwise, easy to use.

Basic funtionalities are good in this Garmin GPS device. I could update maps to latest using laptop. It is great if you install sound packs and vehicles (pictures). Chipmunk sound was great....

Works as a GPS system should. FYI the screen isn't split screen all the time as it shows on the box. It is normally a full wide screen map, and then when you get within a mile of an exit ramp while driving on a free way it goes to split screen. Also a cool little feature is it shows little arrows at the top left of the screen which indicates what lane to be in when on a multi lane street so you are ready for the next turn.

I finally got this brand new GPS afte having a Ton ton, I like the fat that the screen if 5 in and the touch screen is very sensible (do not push hard) which is good compare to my old gps

Other than the fact that the language was foreign and had to be changed, this GPS is easy to use and much better than our old Garman. I registered the GPS and there was an update available. Update went smoothly and I didn't have to do a thing.

It had what I needed to replace an older Garmin that had died. Has a few more options that are nice. I didn't need or want ALL the bells and whistles.
