It’s a very nice watch, the battery lasts more than a week, it has great features for sports, and it's really good. I haven’t had any complaints about the product, 100% recommended. Plus, it has a very youthful and sophisticated design.

I have had an Apple Watch & a Fitbit. I love how I can wear this out and it looks like a regular watch. I love everything it tracks and how it presents it in the connect app. Fit bit closed all their "communities" and I really missed that. Garmin has "groups" so it helps me, since I am not good at working out on my own so it's nice to see what everyone else is doing. Battery life is great. I do not have any CONs but I will be back if I find any.

This is a good product, but it isn't great. If I had it to do again, I would probably have purchased something in the lower price band. Pros: GPS is awesome, but occasionally takes a while to acquire. Software for phone is pretty neat, and many features are adjustable. Has some features that are not available at lower price such as pulse/ox, but that feature can be difficult to use and inconsistent. Screen is practically bulletproof. I'm brutal on watches. Some paint has worn off the bezel, but the screen isn't scratched yet. Cons: Inconsistent results. Sometimes, while working with my trainer, the pulse will be so obviously off by 50% or more. This makes it much less useful. As mentioned before, GPS can take a while to acquire. The band did not agree with my skin, so I'm going to try a different type. Your results may vary. Third-party ecosystem/apps are just plain not of any value. Overall, 3/5 stars because Garmin could use some help on its UI and the somewhat inconsistent data is annoying for the price paid.

This watch is definitely a must get. The battery life last about a week, and the display is beautiful. There are so many features this watch has and I’m still learning them. The body battery has proven to be accurate as well as the stress indicator. I’ve noticed the sleep tracking feature seems a bit off. It’s very stylish, and it can be worn anywhere from a business meeting to a family picnic. The face of the watch seems sturdy and durable. I think this an excellent watch for tracking workouts and a must buy.

The Venu is good but with some annoyances

The Venu replaced my Fitbit Versa. I left Fitbit because their devices would never last me more than 6-8 months. I wanted a fitness watch with GPS capabilities for run tracking and music storage so that I could leave my phone behind on runs around my neighborhood. Every new watch I buy is always up against the Apple watch and the Venu won out on price and battery life but it comes with small annoyances, in my opinion. Good: - GPS lock-on is normally pretty quick and fairly accurate when I review walks and runs. - Battery life is normally good for at least 4 days from full charge. - Downloading a Spotify play list was easy and my wireless headphones connected easily for "phone-free" running. - I prefer the Garmin App over the Fitbit for stat display and tracking. Annoying: - The default watch faces have minimal stat display. There's a Garmin ConnectIQ app which is an "store" for the Garmin devices where you can download 3rd party watch faces but I've found they usually come with a fraction of 1 second delay when waking up the watch face. So when you look at your watch, you have to hold for a half second to wake up the watch face, this prolongs a quick glance for the time. - I cannot get text message notifications to work with my iPhone. - I cannot select which apps I do or don't want notifications from (fitbit allowed this), it is all notifications, call and text (if it worked) only, or zero notifications.

Garmin has produced a great watch at a very affordable price. The watch has the three features that are very important to me. 1.) The Garmin watch does not have to be charged everyday but after 10 days. 2.) The watch is very easy to review my daily steps. 3.) The watch face can be moved to the information with my finger! The Venu is a smartphone and is very stylish.

Great watch. Bought for coaching and to use Spotify while working out/running/biking. Setting that up wasn't straight forward or quick, had to google instructions but got it eventually. The adaptive brightness is very helpful, and the customization of the watch face is a nice addition. Battery life is fine if you turn it off every night. Would recommend it on sale!

    great upgrade from vivoactive hr

I've been wearing/using garmin fitness (and other) devices for years. My most recent the Vivoactive HR finally broke beyond repair. The area of the case where the band pin screws in, tore out. I wanted to repair it or replace, but figured I got my moneys worth out of it and it was time to upgrade. Enter the Venu... So far after a month or so I love it. Originally didn't think I was going to like it because of the size vrs my HR, but after a few weeks it looks and feels perfect on my wrist. I didn't care much for the band, so that was easily replaced with one more stylish that I like. The extra metrics are nice, and seem more accurate than what the HR provided. The display is WAY better and easier to read than the HR, helpful for my aging eyes. Battery life is better than I expected, and I even with 24/7 pulse ox turned on, etc. If I throw it on the charger every day while i'm taking a shower, the battery never seems to get low. Garmin has always been on the more expensive side, but they've always given me my money's worth in the long run. 2 thumbs up for another garmin product.

Bought this as an upgrade for my 4yr old fitbit. I immediately noticed a considerable improvement in accuracy over the fitbit. Heart rate, sleep tracking, activity tracking, everything is better. The screen is amazing, even in direct sunlight. The GPS is excellent, very accurate against my Wahoo Element Bolt. This thing has tons of features. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Love Garmin in genral but if youre looking for a solid sports watch with great metrics for measuring cadence and other specs while running. I personally enjoy the touch acreen aspect of this watch also but if youre not looking for a touch screen and are a runner the Garmin Forerunner is another series to look into.

Battery lasts 5-7 days depending on activity. Lots of features and great deal imo. Downloaded a watch face that shows everything + wx for free. Couldn't be happier. Used for MTB, weight lifting, other general exercise. Has a find your phone feature and app has a find your watch feature

I go back to using the Fenix 3. Great watch, a bit slow, but it had several upsides to its use, at least for me back then. I am an Android user. These watches, in my opinion, work best on an Android device, specifically a Samsung. I have used Samsung Galaxy watches as well. I want to also state that I am not the biggest fan of flipping the wrist to see things on the watch, but with the Venu it is a whole different experience, and the payoff is its reliability and battery life. I have never had an Apple watch. Good for those that find it awesome, but I believe it when they say that you have to charge it every night, and many times before actual night comes. I have the Venu set to 20% brightness and it is exceptionally bright and EASY to read indoors at that percentage. I don't have always on. I set it so that when I flip it toward me, it stays onscreen a bit longer than usual (I selected medium). I don't run so GPS is not a care for me. I get all my notifications and they come in quickly. The screen to the touch is very responsive. The buttons are also quick to activate any part I want to get to. I wore it to sleep and finally showed a 1% drain in battery about 7 hours after having fully charged it. This morning I used it for the first time weightlifting (I workout with only dumbbells and a bench at home). I do a 30 minute max workout that works for me. I set up the watch to prompt me at the 30 minute mark once done, or 300 calories burned, whichever comes first. The heartrate is very accurate and steady throughout (you WILL NOT get a steady heartrate with Samsung Galaxy watches). The battery on a Galaxy watch will drain significantly faster. Apple, I guess, is cute , but its biggest drawback will be battery. After my 30 minute workout, my battery is still at 100%. I took the watch off the charger at 5:52 a.m. and right now as I write this review, it is still at 100% and it is 7:11 a.m. I personally do not care to take a call on my watch. I do not care to speak into it to respond to a text. In the end, and this is for everyone, DO NOT take anyone's word nor review (including mines) on what decision you should make. YOU should decide what is best for you. Some (many actually) like the pretty screen (beautiful on the Venu) on a watch and are okay with charging their watch every night. Many wear a smartwatch for status and "look at me" cool factor to impress. Many users are outdoors all day and climb mountains, ride bikes, jog, run marathons, etc, etc, etc. My review is coming from a guy that is 58, loves to lift his dumbbells every day, wears the watch all day, and just wants to see who is calling, texting, and emailing, and enjoys breaking the 3000 calories a day burned mark, and breaking the 10,000 steps a day mark. That's it. The Venu does that exceptionally well. It feels super light on the wrist. Looks fantastic, and the build is solid. Yes, I have had it less than a day at the time of this review, and yes, I know with time the battery will degrade, but Garmin produces one of the best and most accurate smartwatches in the business. And their battery life far exceeds anything on the market. Their customer service is top notch, everyone speaks great and understandable English, and their headquarters are here in the United States.

I have noticed a significant increase in my physical activity since I got this watch. Why? Because it's cool to see how far / fast I can run. It's very gratifying to see my completed route pop up on my phone when I get back from a run, all without having to bring my phone with me. (This thing has built-in GPS. Rhetorical question: What's the point of having a "smart" watch if you have to bring your mobile phone with you on your run? Answer: None. No point.) The other health features are cool, too. For example, if I'm watching Michigan in a close game, my watch will ping me and say, "Hey - You look like you're kind of stressed out. Would you like to try a breathing exercise?" How cool is that? It's like I've got a friend. A tiny, caring friend that's strapped to my wrist. The graphics are very cool and the build-quality is great. I've got little kids and I'm always banging my extremities into hard objects in an effort to keep my kids from lacerating their heads. This watch has taken a licking several times and kept right on ticking. Also, I love the fact that I only have to charge it once a week and that it only takes about an hour to fully recharge. If I know I'm going to be doing some stationary work activity, I can plug it in and then, when it's charged, unplug it and strap it back on without missing any important developments in my vital signs. I'm very happy.

Pretty good smartwatch with plenty of measurements and healthy information. GPS sometimes takes a little bit to get outdoors for a planned walk/run. The GPS and music capabilities were a must for me and the third point was the battery life between charges as my former Android watch only lasted 24-30 hours. This watch lasts 5 days under normal wear and a little less when running using GPS and music.

    Favorite Garmin watch!

So this is the fifth Garmin watch I've bought, and it's my favorite to date. Unlike my Garmin Fenix 5 Plus, it does not provide advanced running metrics and open water swimming, but other than that it's the perfect watch for me. I find the health monitoring features to be excellent, the variety of workouts available (with videos demonstrating the exercises) are great, and the battery life is quite long (although not as long as the Fenix series). The screen looks fantastic, and I prefer the smaller, dressier band it comes with compared to the Fenix band. But my favorite feature is the light weight compared to the Fenix. I only take my watch off when I shower (and charge the watch at the same time). Wearing the Fenix 24 hours a day was a bit uncomfortable given the substantial weight of the watch. I don't even notice this Venu on my wrist. I'm very pleased.
