I’ve had this for over a month and haven’t had any problems with it. Since I traded up from the Garmin Vivosmart 4 the Connect app was already installed on my phone; I just had to delete the old device and pretty quickly the app found my new device. Other apps connected to my old device just changed seamlessly to the new Garmin without me having to do anything. I haven’t lost the connection between my phone and watch once. The charge lasts about 5 days, though I haven’t let it go below 20% before charging. I also only wear it overnight 2-3 times per week so that could lengthen the battery life. Before Garmin I used a Fitbit and I think Fitbit does a better job tracking sleep. The screen face is bigger than I’m used to but it’s definitely not too big. If I have to nitpick anything: the move now reminder doesn’t always display every hour, I think it’s also supposed to vibrate which isn’t consistent. Also the Health Stats screen is 2 screens and the numbers load but before I can read them the display has gone to screen 2. No regrets trading up and and staying with the Garmin brand.

    Great overall but falls short

I have had this for about a month now and I must say it is everything that I wanted but does fall short for what I really wanted. I wanted a smartwatch that would allow me to download music so I could listen to music while I ran, track my runs, and just give me plain old notifications from my phone. This watch does all of this. Maybe not great but good enough. The music playing is perfectly fine. The tracking is okay. I think this might be more on Garmins end than the watch (Can't troubleshoot with another watch because I just have this one) or even that I am in a forested area but the GPS is not great. It misses about 0.1-0.25miles per mile ran. So for a 1 mile loop it'll show up as 0.75 to 0.9 miles ran. It can be a little frustrating but it doesn't bother me that much because I already know the total amount ran. It does sometimes miss a notification or two which is fine. This watch is great as a starter watch in my opinion because I think I will get a better watch if I become more serious in tracking runs but for right now it works and does what I want it to do.

It's ok. Too small to read and not great for running and not great for everyday smart watch. Go for Apple watch or Garmin 245 instead.

Perfect watch for some, but not me

Pros: the size of the watch is great. It's light and comfortable. For some, they would like that it looks like an Apple watch (I don't particularly care about that) Cons: the watch face is triggered by movement and is either impossible to get to turn on despite shaking my wrist and bringing it up and down (i.e. it's useless as a watch with which to tell time!) or you can change the settings and it's slightly better but then it is on more often so it drains the battery in a day. That's not great when I'm on a several hour hike and still want to see the time or use my watch for the rest of the day. The buttons on the side are continually triggered by my dog's leash on my wrist so my dog is either turning on the GPS or setting my laps. It's extremely frustrating.

Very disappointed in my first Garmin product purchase I thought it would be better than my previous Fitbit Versa 3 but it is very unreliable for instance the step counter is way off and so is the heart rate and a lot of times the watch venu sq music version says it’s disconnected from my phone even though my phone is 3 feet from me it is constantly disconnecting from my phone I am very disappointed in this Garmin smartwatch I was expecting much better performance from Garmin maybe I just got a bad one but my return window has closed so I will never buy another Garmin watch again.

This is the second Garmin Watch I have owned. The only thing I don't like on this watch is I do not get the 6 days of battery. I get 3 days tops. It also takes longer to charge then my original Garmin watch I had. All in all a good watch.

The Body Battery rating system seems to be reliable and gives a more generalized picture of energy and fatigue sources. Nice for counting steps and monitoring sleep stages.

Can't say I love this watch, when running it sometimes won't wake up and show the screen unless you shake your arm. Also, the text is really small. I love the Garmin platform but just not this device.

I am a physician and wear this to work so that I can run during my lunch hour. It looks professional and provides me with all the functions I need to track my performance. So much easier to use and much more functional than my Fitbit.
