The display is bright and clear, making it easy to read even outdoors. I really appreciate the variety of tracking features—heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, stress management, and built-in GPS. It's lightweight and comfortable to wear all day, which is great since I tend to wear it during both workouts and everyday activities.

I've owned a Vivoactive HR, 4, and recently just purchased the 5. Overall, I love these watches. I use it primarily for nonral workouts, walk/runs (no serious training or anything), and most importantly golf. I feel naked when i dont have it on. Here are my pros/cons from the VA 4 to 5:
Pros: (1) battery life is significantly better on the 5. I was charging my 4 every 5 days at first and then every 2 days after roughly two years of use. I am getting a steady 7/8 days with normal workouts, notifications, etc on the 5. (2) New AMOLED display is head over heels better than prior versions. (3) ability to respond to texts and calls has been upgraded.
Cons: (1) They are getting cheap with builds. Looks like they are making the VA 5 their entry watch, and the 4 was made better. The button are now plastic, and I've seen a lot of people saying it is easily scratched (I haven't personally had this issue yet). (2) No barometric sensor - so you no longer can see elevation during runs or stairs climbed. This wasnt a deal breaker for me, but certainly is a bummer.
These watches have a lot of functions and pack a punch if you are active and want a tool to add to your lifestyle - these are just the majornthings that affected my use of it. I have yet to golf with the new watch, but looking forward to any changes they made there, and even if it is the same I wouldn't be mad.

This has been the best watch after switching from Apple! I have really enjoyed the sleep score and workout options they have. The battery will last me up to 8 days no problems, even sleeping with it at night!

The Garmin Vivoactive 5 delivers exactly what you're looking for: simplicity and strong health features. It's easy to use, offers in-depth tracking across stress, sleep, energy, and workouts, and keeps going for about a week without charging. For everyday wellness and versatile sport tracking, it's a great match. Just be aware that if you need altimeter-based metrics or a very rugged, premium feel, higher-tier Garmin models could be better.

I bought this as a gift and she loves it, with a single draw back: the band. Whatever is on the coating of this band made her wrist develop a rash.
The functionality and esthetic of the watch are both nice. Battery life is as advertised and the reliability of Garmin speaks for itself.

The battery life is great. I charge usually once a week. The watch is very light weight. I love that I can review my sleep, heart rate, the weather, my steps, text messages and emails. It has tons of face options to choose from. The price compared to other watches that do the same thing is fantastic. Highly recommend!

Great watch. This is my second Garmin watch. It replaced my old 920xt forerunner Watch that I had for 10 years. Easy to use. Distance is very accurate. Built in heart rate monitor is great and battery life is great.
All that I need - easy to use - great battery life

It is great. The style is elegant enough to be a dress watch - none of the massive buttons that suggest military. I have read that quality wise it is a drop from the vivoactive4 that had better buttons but since I don't swim or shower with it I am confident not to be hurt by that. I loved that a lot of the setup was by default. This includes the night time face that is dull to encourage sleep, and the morning report that has good info. The choice of free faces could be better but the ones that are not free are not so expensive that you don't want to try them. It picks up the GPS fast enough and it looks as though the GPS is accurate. Battery life is great. I am not an athlete and so there are days I don't use the GPS. 24 hrs without GPS seems to consume 4% of the battery. This will drop over time but I think I am looking at charging every 4 days. That is great for business trips. I wish there were wireless charging but I don't know what features I would have to give up for that. I don't like proprietary cables. The cable is regular USB at one end. It can be regular USB at the other too. At the end of the day I have no deal breaking complaints. Pleased with it.

I know I'm writing a review after this watch was released 2+ years ago, but I figure I have some good comparison to my 2+ year old Apple watch. Grabbed this watch on sale because of the price since I moved over to Android. I think for around the same price point as the Apple SE watch, Apple has a step up.
First the good, I'll say this thing has amazing battery life compared to the Apple watch. Its refreshing not to have to charge my watch every 1.5 days. I'm not a huge athlete or anything, but I do like to monitor my health and workouts, and this does a pretty good at that. I haven't gotten deep into customizations and personal setups, I'm still on the default face until I get more comfortable with the watch. I have Youtube music synced with the watch so its real nice to go on runs without my phone. I like the morning notifications, body battery, weather, and sleep review when I wake up.
Things I'm not a big fan of, isn't not very intuitive, at least for a person new to Garmin. The screen sometimes does not turn on when I tap it, or when I turn my wrist to look at the time. Also, during a workout, its not easy to switch music, look at time, and my progress. Seems like I have to jump around to different 'pages' to get that information, which is not fun to do while running. Again, I'm new to this so there might be better faces/apps that help out with this.
I think its a good watch for the price, and offers more privacy than an Apple or Google watch. It wasn't worth more to spend the extra $100 on the Vivoactive 6 from the reviews I read since there didn't seem to be any major upgrades. It was hard picking a Garmin watch since there are so many, but I think the Vivoactive fits me well for the value.

Great having a easy to read, very cool watch face! It took a bit of practice to figure out all the bells and whistles, but at the end of the day, awesome. Extremely comfortable band. No sweating!! So happy to step away from Fitbit! Only needs to be charged 1X/week. The price was also very reasonable.

After 3 Apple Watches I gave Garmin shot. Never looking back. This is a great watch I use it all the time for tracking my work outs, tracks my sleep and only charge it once a well. You also get all the notifications from you iPhone . Best watch I have own so far.

I was with Fitbit from its early beginnings & would never have left but for Googles decision to make access to data through Google only. I say that to give measure to my new found joy with Garmin. I will bring specificity and say the additional information about the quality of my sleep is very helpful
