I enjoy garmin products because of GPS and usually pretty good battery life. My watch battery has been getting worse lately but nothing to honestly complain about. Great at keeping count of steps. The golf feature is very nice but if you really into golf i would get a version that is built for golf. LOVE GARMIN PRODUCTS

I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive HR as a replacement for a Fitbit Charge HR, which kept dying (3 replacements in less than a year). I've had the Vivoactive HR for about a month. I like the fact that I can wear one device while playing golf that counts my steps, monitors my heart rate and activity level, AND provides GPS data for the golf course I'm playing. Apps available for many different activities, most come pre-loaded on the watch. Sleep measurements need improvement; it often does not correctly register when I lay down to go to sleep and when I get up. I like the Move! alerts to remind me to get up and move. It only takes a few hundred steps to clear the Move! bar. Notifications from my phone (texts, calls, calendar reminders, voicemail, email) also work pretty well. Many available watch faces from the Connect IQ store within the Garmin Connect app. Occasionally have to re-pair the Vivoactive HR with the Connect app. Outstanding battery life - lasts 36 holes of golf between re-charges, and with no golf doesn't even reach 50% battery level after a week. Charges pretty quickly, too - from ~50% to a full charge in about an hour.

Vivoactive is a great fitness tracker. It does what it's supposed to. It has great battery life (4 days easily with light gps tracking). The only problems I had with this watch is that the heartrate goes crazy while swimming. Also, It would be great if garmin added the capability to store music in the watch like tomtom.

First off let me say thank you to Best buy who went above and beyond for me. Now let me say that this item is a great device but the price in my opinion is rather high but I think that prices are high in general these days. If you are considering a sport watch tracker like this think less about the brand and think more about what it will be used for and how you want to use the device. I paid 119. for this one on black friday. It's gradually gone up in price. It's base prices is 249.99. So before making your choice just think about what you will being using the device for and how it will be used daily.

I wanted a new GPS watch for running purposes and this has so much more than GPS for running. Keeps track of several activities outside of running. Was happily surprised with the Golf GPS which I didn't realize it had until I started playing around with the watch. Also, keeps track of sleep, heart rate, has some custom apps that you can download that give different watch interfaces, graphs of activity, etc. Highly recommended.

This blends all the best things about a Fitbit (counting steps, calories, heart rate) with GPS. This provides accurate information for running and other outdoor activities. As a golfer, I also like to golf features. It's also waterproof, so you can shower and even swim with it on. Battery life is better than other GPS watches I have had.

Very happy with this purchase. GPS locks on very fast. Took it on an 8 mile hike and the GPS tracking, heartrate, and charts it produced are outstanding. I love the battery life - many days without a charge is no problem for this unit. Also really like the customization available with clock/watch faces available for free download. I've had a few other trackers before - this one is definitely my favorite.

I got this Garmin primarily to monitor my sleep (it shows I have no deep sleep, a couple hours light sleep and a LOT of movements every night). No wonder I've been tired. Anyway, I like the instant notifications when I get phone calls and texts because I don't always have my cell phone near me. The heart rate monitor function is pretty accurate. I usually use my Polar heart rate monitor during workouts.

Big selling point: can go in the water with this Garmin - lots more features than my Fitbit Charge HR too - love being able to read my text messages on the screen. Comparable reports to fitbit and getting even better. Actually Fitbit reports just started looking like the Garmin reports. Only improvement: wish it had a brighter screen.

I bought this watch because it claims to be waterproof and I wanted to utilize this feature to swim laps. After 7 Months of use, I went to swim laps and long story short water got into the device and it was toast. So it is covered under a 1 year manufacture warranty, so I contact support and they set up a ticket to replace. I had to ship in my own box as well as pay for shipping. No big deal, I shipped it priority and it got there next day. They reviewed and shipped around 5 days later and shipped DHL, needless to say it took about a month to get my device back. Other than that the watch is great, the notifications are very nice and the actual exercise portions and tracking are pretty spot on. HR monitor is almost spot on to the chest strap I utilize. I would recommend this product for all touted features except the swimming aspect.

This is my first fitness tracker and I am completely pleased. It not only tracks my movements and my heart rate, it motivates me to workout harder. I use it mostly for tracking distance and time on walks and runs. At the end of each mile, the watch vibrates to get my attention and tells me the time for that mile and the cumulative time to that point. At the end of the workout, I also get a record of my heart rate changes during the activity. All of this motivate me to set and achieve better workout goals. After just one month, I already feel better as a result of better workouts.

This is so far the best fitness tracker I have owned so far. It has been great for tracking activities and heart rate. The step and stair tracking functions are not always accurate but are close enough. It wears comfortably even when I sleep with it on. Display is large and easy to read in all types of lighting.

I am entering the Triathlon world and found in this device a nice tool to keep track of all my activities and progress. Customization is great from Garmin or other developers, and iPhone interface for music control and message viewing is a great plus. GPS is very accurate and so is lap tracking when swimming indoors.

I bought this watch to track my walking activity, to monitor my heart rate and sleep time, and to use as a replacement for a Garmin Approach S2 GPS Golf Watch. (The Approach S2 has always been a battery hog and was difficult to recharge). My expectations weren't very high that the vivoactive would have all the golf features that the Approach S2 provides. I was pleasantly surprised! In addition to providing the expected features of a sprots watch, the vivoactive does virtually everything that the Approach S2 will do. I can download almost any golf course directly to the watch. It keeps up with the hole number, and displays the distance to the front, back, and center of the green from wherever I'm standing on the course. It can also measure shots, keep score, and upload my score at the end of the round. The battery will go at least a week without recharging, (while the approach usually ran out of juice after one round of golf, if not sooner). All in all, it's a great multipurpose watch.

I wanted to get this product for being able to track my calories and steps during my workouts, but I think this is not for me. It's a great product but I guess I realize it's not really necessary. I also kept reading that the calories burned is over-estimated. I really liked the heart rate monitor portion. I think it's all about how it fits your lifestyle.

Love the ability to swim and get this unit wet. I reviewed many different brands and models and found this one to be superior in looks and function. I also checked out the iwatch, but I found that it had too many functions for my needs, it was too expensive, and I traded my iPhone in for a Samsung S7.
