I had a two+ year old Garmin Vivofit that had started to give out and a Pebble that I really didn't like so I decided break down and buy one new device to replace both. Having all the good luck with my Vivofit, I choose to go with the Garmin brand but also wanted the ability to get my messages and things from my phone. After much research, I chose this and so far I have been happy. Battery life is very good and the features are great. Only thing I wish was that screen would come on by just shaking my wrist like my Pebble did in the dark.

I bought this because - at the time - it was the only one that was waterproof, and had all the features I wanted - swim, bike, run, HR. It works fine, but is much bulkier than the new iWatch.

I have been using Garmin GPS watches for running, cross country skiing and bicycling since the original forerunner that looked like a brick on my arm. I the vivoactive hr ability to track heart rate without a strap is nice and seems accurate. It synchronizes easily with my Samsung S7. Curiously, my wife has the same vivoactive HR and the distance tracking is not as accurate for her as it is for me. For example, we ran a 10 mile race together, my Garmin recorded 10.1 miles and hers recorded 9.75. Same course, same time of day and this is a recurring error.We haven't found a setting to resolve this, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I would still recommend this product.

No one beats Garmin in sports and fitness tracking. No the screen isn't fancy, no it is not as smart as an Apple Watch or some android wear devices. Yes it is awesome! You get 10+ hours of active use. 5+ days on standbuy. GPS catches on quick, and I live in Chicago, big cities and congested areas tend to mess with gps sometimes. The accuracy is spot on! I recently ran a half marathon and at each mile marker zone the mile notification would buzz me as soon as I past the marker. You can't go wrong with this watch. It is smart and will connect to your favorite sport/fitness apps. Automatically uploads to garmin connect which you can connect to other 3rd party apps. And if your app is. It available just double connect. What I do is connect the garmin app to Nike+ then Nike+ to Strava. Seamless integration over Bluetooth. Can't beat this watch for the price.

I've been using a different brands of fitness trackers for the past few years. I got more into hiking this past year and realized the tracker I was previously using had GPS that did not track get well. A lot of my friends that I hiked with used a Garmin and their GPS tracking was great. This vivoactive HE has been great, and I wish I would have gotten one sooner.

Wanted a watch that measured hr, distance run. Seems to suut my needs

I wanted a watch with an all day HR monitor and i did all the research i could and while there are a few other watches i thought might work the combination of price and features led me to the vivosync hr and it has been everything i expected and more.

My only problem is with the display. Being 60 my eyesight isn't like it was when I was 20. The brightest setting is still hard to see unless you are in perfect conditions. And with the secondary display info much smaller it's really a challenge. Otherwise very good product.

This is one of the best activity trackers I have ever used. It has great GPS capabilities and is even better when used in conjunction with the app. Notifications always show up immediately and can be set up to show any of them you want.

I lost my four year old Garmin Forerunner 110 so I needed a replacement. Wow! What a difference four years makes! This watch absolutely improves on my old watch in every single way. It not only links to the GPS almost instantaneously, it also tracks steps, aerobic activity, stairs, sleep, etc Some people have complained the wrist based heart rate monitor is accurate during exercise. Just research it and you will find that no wrist based monitor from any manufacturer is remotely accurate during hard movement. You must need a chest strap which although not included, the Garmin will sync with. This is a big advantage over the Fitbit which does not have that option.

I purchased this watch based on reviews posted on CNET. I wear it daily including while sleeping. The sleep tracking feature measures quality, and duration based on one's heart rate. The Garmin does a great job of tracking calories burned and steps. The only drawback is it does not track steps if hand movement is not detected. For example, if one is holding onto handles while using the treadmill, it is unable to track the number of steps taken. I was told the step tracking feature for all smart watches uses an accelerometer relative to hand movement. The same can be said when using a rowing machine. To overcome this issue, the garmin is strapped to my left ankle before these particular workouts. The battery lasts for several days before it needs to be recharged and a full recharge takes about 2 hours.

I evaluated and re-evaluated my decision to purchase this device for at least a month. Concerned about reports of display brightness (non-issue really). Concerned about size, thought it might be too big (wasn't). What I like: works well with my Garmin Edge 820 bike GPS unit, transmitting heart rate and reading sensors off my bike reliably. Also use to measure time on elliptical, displaying heart rate/time in zones, etc. Works well keeping track of flights of stairs climbed at work. Band is very comfortable, and watch is very light weight as well. Battery life excellent and about as advertised. Apple watch prettier, nicer display, but short battery life and non-waterproof status (Series 1) as well as not working with my bike GPS were reasons why I stayed with Garmin. So far very happy, have used for 3 weeks or so.
