Need a better manual; had to use a YouTube video to learn how to set it up, etc. Would be great to have a more feminine or delicate look. It is a bit clunky for wearing for some occasions when you are active and would like to track calories, steps, etc but the watch ruins the outfit

    - Excellent editing of almost everything on the device itself, no need for the app unless you want convenience. - Many vibrating alarms can be set with various options to repeat on different days and can be set on the watch itself, no need for app. This is critical when you wake up groggy and want to quickly add another one time alarm for 30 minutes in advance, etc. - HR is accurate enough to be a useful tool for comparing trends of improvements on workouts over time. - the amount of data in reports shown on the watch is fantastic. I don't ever use the app anymore. - Battery life if you don't turn Bluetooth on is 10+ days with 30 minutes of GPS workout per day.

Good Fitness tracker. I have been using for 2 months, and it tracks accurately. I have owned others that were rated the best, but the Garmin products are superior. Others the band fell apart after 6 months and tracking was spotty. I do not have to worry about getting this one wet.

Has done all I need. I like the fact it is waterproof. A little big in size but not too noticable after you get used to it.

I love this for my uses. I use it at work to monitor steps and heart rate. It is very accurate at tracking your movements. I do wish the band was a bit more comfortable, gets a bit uncomfortable to sleep in.

As an early adopter of this one, I was frustrated with bugs and issues, but as those get patched up, I'm really enjoying my VAHR. Went with this from a FB Blaze because I really wanted the waterproofing and customization. I have to say it's a solid performer and I love being able to try out new watch faces and apps made by the Garmin community. Fitbit may get the popular vote but Garmin is steadily releasing quality products that do the job better.

Have always had a fitbit but wanted to try this one. Bought one in the summer time and it works great. So I bought another for a family member. I would give it a 5 star but nothing is perfect so it gets a 4.

Having the built in GPS and not needing a phone while running is the primary reason I purchased this tracker and that works great. However, I have really enjoy the additional widgets and notifications from my phone on the device. It will display messages from Facebook Messenger and text messages. While the UI is not as pretty as a smart watch, the display allows the battery to last for more than a week even while using the GPS feature for running a few times a week! I also really like the built in Golf course with GPS. I have noticed that while it is water resistant, the display doesn't really respond to touch while under water.

love this watch. very accurate! replaced a fitbit hr that was miles off on distances by the end of the day. this watch has been 100% accurate even on a treadmill for me so far. With the fitbit i would track exercise by my heart rate. the garmin actually can track your exercise.

Great all around fitness watch. The cycling appears to need additional equipment, which was not clear when I bought the watch, but since I don't do a lot of that, it is okay. I use this for running, walking and golf (so far). I would prefer that it was able to do splits, but that does not seem possible. For the golf, I'd like it if more information could be kept per round, but it is more than adequate.

The watch is nice if you are into fitness and being able to track your workouts, calories, miles, etc. My only complaint is that there are times when it doesn't accurately track my heart rate, which translates into not tracking calories correctly either. It also bothers my wrist sometimes and slides during workouts. It also doesn't work well with certain kettlebell workouts (hits the watch face) and workout gloves that extend past the wrist. Overall, I would recommend it though.

I have been using my Garmin watch for almost 2 months now and love it. I was looking for something to keep me motivated and exercising and it does that and more. You can add whatever activities that you would like to track and for easy viewing you can sync your watch to your phone when you are on bluetooth. The best part in my opinion about this watch is the battery life. It literally lasts me a week before I have to charge. And when I do charge, it is super fast and takes less than an hour. I would highly recommend this watch for anyone looking for a waterproof watch and wants to track their activities.

Great buy. This watch is waterproof which is why I chose this one compared to other smart watches. I don't have to take it off when I go swimming. Great deal for the price.

Not sure I'll ever use all the features. Somewhat large for a small wrist. If you're holding the rail or something in your hand walking up stairs, the stairs counter doesn't work. The notification that you haven't moved is a fairly quiet 'buzz'. Charge lasts about 5 days. Since I don't use at night for sleep tracking, it's okay to leave charged at night. Does charge pretty quickly. Like the heart rate and intensity trackers.

If there is anything we can do to improve your experience with the vivoactive HR to a five star one, please reach out to us through our product support team at: www.garmin.com/support

Since the vivoactive HR is a wrist-worn device, it will require your arm to be swinging naturally to track steps and stairs climbed.

I had a Garmin Vivofit for a few years but it was very basic. I wanted to upgrade to a device that would do so much more and I found it in the VivoActive. This device monitors my sleep nightly, my steps and my calories burned. But what I love most about it is that it syncs with my phone and I can see my text messages. I also love that I can select a physical activity like cycling or running and it will report my stats. It was easy to learn how to use and I love that it does so much. The only thing that I couldt get it to do was show me incoming calls, but that may be due to my phone; I have the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
