I have been extremely happy with this. One of the deciding factors for me was that it has an app to track SUP. I haven't been able to use that yet as the weather isn't very ideal in North Dakota this time of year, but the other apps I've tried on it have worked really well. I've tested the heart rate monitor multiple times against the monitors on gym equipment, and it's always been within one or two beats. I have pretty small wrists, and this doesn't look massive when I have it on. Going from a Fitbit Flex, I thought I was going to have issues with the size, but it fits very comfortably, and the size hasn't been an issue.

Both my husband and I upgraded from the Garmin Vivosmart HR to the Garmin Vivoactive HR. It has a ton of capabilities and the information is very accurate. I have small wrists so I was worried it would be too big but the size is just right. I highly recommend them.

Got this for $119 BF sale. Has a decent list of activities preset. Heart rate though seems to be above 20 points then actual rate. Sleep monitor is spot on and details it well. Overall good buy.

This is a great product for everyday wear and fitness tracking. I like the heart rate monitor works with my other fitness app RunGps so I don't need to wear the chest strap.

my wife likes the watch but is not technically savvy. has a little hard time navigating menus. i love mine just seems apps are really geared towards more expensive garmin watches than this one.

The activity tracking is great, it is usually within about .1 miles of what the treadmill says. Best thing about it is battery life, lasts about 2weeks between chargeable

My only real complaint is the general appearance of the device. I have had mine for a year and it has been thru everything with me. Paddleboarding, running, work, etc. Just purchased this for an adult child of mine. Had an issue and Garmin support was amazing!

This is my 3rd wearable. It does have a long battery life and easily handles a 5 1/2 hour hike. It took a little doing to understand everything. Still learning. I went on a long cold hike and for the first time, my heart rate never went above 104 BPM, even climbing up hill. It was 20 degrees F, so that maybe an issue. Need to do more cold weather hikes to be sure. I got a great deal on it. One note: On a basis watch, I got a rash on my wrist from the band. I got a similar one with this one, but to a less degree with this one and it took a lot longer. I switched to my other arm until the other gets better.

Read the review on dcrainmaker.com and made the decision. Had to decide between surge and this. Have used Fitbit charge HR and really liked that. I went for this mainly to track multiple activities. I was also looking at forerunner 225/235 but they were not good for daily tracking. This is best of both worlds activity and performance. Not comfortable for wearing during sleeping.

After trying some other models, I tried the vivosmart HR and it's an excellent watch but I wanted the bigger display. I tried the vivoactive HR and it's even better. It's the only one I've seen that you can view in direct sunlight. It works well to display texts and messaging. Phone calls work well too. The steps seem accurate and the exercise tracks well. The best part is the battery life. It lasts all week, and even then, it sometimes has half charge left. Good job Garmin!

Got a great deal on Black Friday. I was surprised that the watch was still available when I got in the store. Not suture if it will be a gift for someone, or if I will keep it for myself.

It took a little getting used as I had switched from a Fitbit HR. This tracker is truly great. If you read the instructions and follow them, you will have 0 problems with this unit. It seamlessly tracks EVERYTHING. I will be getting the Garmin 500 Bike bundle soon to track ALL types of bike wirkouts(indoor and out). At some point I will add the power pedals too. Tracks walks, golf (with ACCURATE distances to pin), shows calls, texts, reminders. I love this product. Highly recommended.

I was more impressed than I expected to be by the attention to detail with this Garmin watch. In addition to the fitness and activity features I'd expect as a long time owner of other Garmin products, I appreciate the thought that went into the integration with smartphones (an iphone in my case). If you truly care about fitness, this beats the Apple Watch every time. The screen is always on, the battery last longer, the notifications are handled better, etc.

I had a Polar V800 and it was an excellent watch. It was one of Polars really expensive watches. It works flawlessly until recently the GPS starting going crazy. Had a bad experience with customer service so I trade in the watch for this watch. This might look or feel high quality but this watch definitely does the job like the more expensive watches. And more! I would definitely recommend this watch. Best part about it is you can do the wrist heart rate monitoring or the chest strap.

Have computer only to download new information and track activities. New watch faces and activities can be downloaded free. Tracks everything from walking indoors and out, bike riding, running, skiing, swimming, golf and many other activities. It can also find your car, or starting point withing about 20 feet. NOTE: If your watch does not show the right time, go to GPS. Once the GPS is located, it will tell you your position, and set the time and date.

I really kept my eye on a apple watch but given I have a Garmin Edge 1000 for cycling I wanted something that would connect to my work outs. I didn't set my expectations to high but upon using this watch I am overly happy with it. I do wish I could respond by voice text but I guess it would be one more distraction. But, I can see text messages and emails that come through. As well, alerts I have set up on my apple phone for news flashes etc. That aside the screen faces can be changed and customized. It offers a plethora of work out icons. I could go on but I need to get back to work :)
