I wanted a smart watch with a simple design, but carried all the features I needed. The Garmin vivoactive doesn’t disappoint.

This is one of the great product that I have owned. I use it everyday, tells me when to move which is great since i work from home. GPS signal is fast, I use it to track my daily run, walk and can see in map which path I took. It didnt have VO2 max and Yoga apps but I bought the same from Garmin app store. Only problem i see is it cannot sometimes recognize floor climbing correctly. Overalll very happy with this product.

Overall it's a pretty good activity tracker. It needs a few updates though. The steps and stairs tracker are not always accurate, but the heart rate monitor is very good, and sometimes tells you your in a deep sleep when you are just sitting still. Haven't gotten outside with it much since it's winter but tracked one run very accurately.

    Best watch for swimmers

My son is in swimming and wanted a smart watch that would track laps. It was difficult finding a watch that is waterproof. A lot of watches are water resistant but this was the only one that is waterproof. The swim app is a plus, also the fact that it is a touch screen makes a world of difference.

The watch works great. The battery will last days even with workout sessions. The running stats are detailed and informative. I tested the heart rate sensor while running vs a polar heart rate strap and it was right on. It is a little on the large size but it is not bad for my medium sized wrist. I look forward to trying the golfing function.

Great product, works as advertised. Battery works super well since I have to charge it once a week (I don't use the GPS feature though). It is easy to use and the app may be a little confusing at first but it is very informative. I don't give 5 stars just because I'm not sure if it is accurate with the calories burned.

Got this for my daughter's birthday as an upgrade from her Garmin Vivofit and she loves it! Although a bit more than we wanted to spend, it has a lot on it and it's waterproof - unlike the FitBit which isn't. She said she really enjoys it and all the extra features such as the vibration mode that reminds her to get up and move.

    It's Okay for Me

I am a single-digit handicap player, bought this primarily for Golf in mind. But also liked the idea of checking my heart rate, on and off Course. For me, there's way too much information that is stored in this watch that I will rarely use or need now. And it's difficult to navigate through, even with Instructions after I obtained a Readable Version. Probably with practice and repetition it will become easier to use. But I ran out of patience. With its small screen size, I'd rather use my Laser Range Finder and / or Golf GPS. For someone else, it's probably great all in one source of Information / Data. But for me it's an overkill. Did not like the design in how the power adapter snaps onto the Watch for charging, maybe reliable, but little clunky for me. I would recommend it as long it comes with the plus and minuses. I might reconsider in the near future. But for now, it's not for me. Sorry.

I upgraded from the vivosmart, and I am so glad. The screen can be hard to see in some lighting, but that is the worst thing. It interacts better with my fitness pal, too.

My Vivoactive HR's walking app has proved to be an accurate tracker, tested against a course of known distance. If you use the foot pod, it also tracks the number of steps. This device is one of the few that can go swimming, and that is very handy. You will need to read the manual to get full benefit of what this tracker can do.

I I had a fitbit HR2 before this watch, it lasted about a year before it fell apart, the garmin seems to be holding up much better. I liked the phone interface better with the fitbit, this app is not as user friendly. The watch is water proof, which is great for tracking your swimming. Cant wait to try it on the golf course!

After reviewing all of the competitors both on-line and in store it was clear that this was the best watch for the $... and it was. It is within ~1% margin of error on steps, is able to show you your route with GPS on the phone app, holds a good charge, and is capable even in the water. Only down side is that it does not have the network to compete against friends like on FitBit but is a far superior device in every other respect.

Garmin has a wonderful product if you like to swim. It works well underwater with no problems. The set-up of screens takes time to learn and understand but once you have that you are off and happy. I also love the HR wrist technology. I still need to study a little more but the cell screens also provide valuable data.

I really liked the watch out of the box. Lots of built in activities and customizable options. After about a week of having the watch, it refused to synced with my phone. I tried to restart both, with no luck. I eventually returned it and purchased another watch.

This watch was purchased for a female, so it is bulkier than desired. But regardless is a nice functional tool to track workouts and various activities. Heart rate monitoring is more accurate than most. Still fairly new, so still learning about all its functionality. Yes i would recommend, mostly for guys due to its bulkiness.
