This fit watch is so easy to use, the big screen is a bonus - but perhaps the best feature is that I usually don't need to charge it for 7 plus days. But when I do its very quick to recharge.

I have been very satisfied with this tracker. Built in GPS is great...now I don't HAVE to carry my phone along for run or ride. Haven't swam with it yet but it's comforting to know I have the option.

I live my Garmin, counts steps, calories burned, heart rate and intensity of workout. I've had a fitbit and by far Garmin offers more. It's also interactive and you can Bluetooth it to your phone

Good:
Excellent functionnalities.
Built in GPS is the most important feature of this item.
Garmin app and interface provides lots of informations about performance.
Screen with light.
Battery Lifetime (several days)
Minus:
The overall design could be improved.
Bulky design (Compare for instance to a fitbit one which has better style)
Interface could be improved (presentation and navigation could be more intuitive).

Good fitness device if you must have HR monitor. It was a little to thick for me so decided to return for Vivoactive without HR monitior.

I have been using this smartwatch for several weeks. It is accurate enough for my purposes. I cycle 3 to 4 times a week. The recording of the information has been great. Have not tried other smart watches but this works great for me

I am thrilled with this watch! I was able to download a watch face, so it actually looks like a watch!
It tracks my steps accurately. It also tracks my sleep without my having to push buttons first.
I can wear it swimming, although I haven't yet.
It has alarms I can set and reminds me to move.
I can also control my music with it and it connects to MyFitnessPal.
It tells me the current temp.
You can download golf course info to it if you want (I didn't).
Does heart rate, and calendar notifications.
I have just started with it, so have no idea of the total opportunities it has, but I love it!
Oh, it is rechargeable, so I won't be spending this money again next year!

Multisport functionality and overall accuracy is the key to this smart watch. The strapless heart rate monitoring is also a plus. I recommend this over most of the other watches on the market.

I was looking for a watch that measured continuous HR, steps, and distance and pace for my runs. It is able to track all of this accurately (with the exception of treadmill running - the watch was tracking me as running much slower than the treadmill reading - I very rarely run on a treadmill so this doesn't matter to me.) The HR reading is accurate- I have been manually counting my HR periodically to compare values and it has been within 4 beats. I also love the sleep tracking and the phone notifications. I don't usually walk around the house wth my phone in my pocket so it is nice to be able to see who is contacting me right on my watch. Overall I am very satisfied.

Biggest problems are with swimming.

Good product overall. Biggest problems are with swimming. No heart rate is available, so, for the day, there's a big blank there. Furthermore, one hour of swimming adds nothing to the steps or any other total activity for the day. Also, my pool is 11 yards long, and I swim 80+ laps (1/2 mile); however, the minimum pool length allowed for calculation on the watch is something like 18 yards. If I set it to 22 yards, I get precisely twice the distance (and, presumably, calories burned). Is there a better solution?

I am a retired man and use the Garmin Vivoactive HR to track my daily activities. I swim, bike and walk. It helps me to keep motivated. I wish there were other wrist bands with it although.

Horrible display, does not swipe smoothly, return

I really really really wanted to like this product. I have the Vivosmart HR that I love. I thought the Vivoactive HR would be all that and more.
My review may seem harsh, and I will be comparing directly between the Vivoactive HR and my current Vivosmart HR.
Pros: countless settings for customizing, looks cool on my wrist, great for people that are really active. Flexible band is also very nice.
Cons: Display is horrible, almost unreadable at times. My display has edge bleeding on the lower left corner, and it is very annoying to me. For this price it should be flawless. I noticed some other user review photos had similar edge bleeding in the same spot. Also the display is very pixelated and edges of fonts are not smooth. Vivosmart has a far superior display. When I turn my wrist to look at the time, the display does not light up. I have to shake my wrist or touch the screen to see the time (this is unacceptable). The swipes are not smooth (almost glitchy) and sometimes it does not react to a swipe. My Vivosmart has never given me one issue like this. Also had issues getting my computer to recognize the device by USB cable. Vivosmart always connects first time. Sits very high on my wrist and feels bulky.
I am returning this one and will stick to my Vivosmart. I only do walking/jogging/weightlifting so for the very active user, the Vivoactive may be what you are looking for. Vivosmart does everything that I need, and it gets 5 stars, while I can only give the Vivoactive one star.
Please go back to the drawing board Garmin.
