Horrible display, does not swipe smoothly, return

I really really really wanted to like this product. I have the Vivosmart HR that I love. I thought the Vivoactive HR would be all that and more. My review may seem harsh, and I will be comparing directly between the Vivoactive HR and my current Vivosmart HR. Pros: countless settings for customizing, looks cool on my wrist, great for people that are really active. Flexible band is also very nice. Cons: Display is horrible, almost unreadable at times. My display has edge bleeding on the lower left corner, and it is very annoying to me. For this price it should be flawless. I noticed some other user review photos had similar edge bleeding in the same spot. Also the display is very pixelated and edges of fonts are not smooth. Vivosmart has a far superior display. When I turn my wrist to look at the time, the display does not light up. I have to shake my wrist or touch the screen to see the time (this is unacceptable). The swipes are not smooth (almost glitchy) and sometimes it does not react to a swipe. My Vivosmart has never given me one issue like this. Also had issues getting my computer to recognize the device by USB cable. Vivosmart always connects first time. Sits very high on my wrist and feels bulky. I am returning this one and will stick to my Vivosmart. I only do walking/jogging/weightlifting so for the very active user, the Vivoactive may be what you are looking for. Vivosmart does everything that I need, and it gets 5 stars, while I can only give the Vivoactive one star. Please go back to the drawing board Garmin.

I returned this watch.’ Software was not as smooth as I like it to be. I own an Apple Watch now,but I bought this watch for the GPS but Hong’s didn’t work out.

Great watch for people wanting a waterproof, GPS running, activity tracker with some smartwatch capabilities. It's a lot cheaper than the Garmin Fenix 3 HR with most of its features. A good alternative to Garmin's more expensive items.

Not as power packed as a Gear S3 or Apple watch, but if you are a fitness enthusiast, this will hold up much better.

My first Garmin was the FR201, then the FR310XT, then the FR405 (which I didn't like so I stuck with the 310XT). I had been holding out for a multisport device with built in HR and activity tracking. The Vivoactive HR is a winner! I like the built in HR for most activities but also like the ability to keep using my old chest strap if I want better accuracy. The phone alerts were cool at first but I eventually turned them off, why bother when the phone was in my pocket anyway? Garmin has put out a couple of software updates since my purchase and it keeps getting better! I really like the syncing with my phone and Garmin Connect is always up to date.

This watch has been my go to watch! I run, hike, walk, ride and play golf. Other fitness watches didn't make it a year. This one has and it's easy to use and accurate.

Got this watch on a best buy deal of the day. At first I had reservations but after getting acquainted I love it! After downloading Garmin Connect for my cellphone, I was able to download dozens of cool watch faces as well as widgets showing weather, hunt and fish info, email and messages. You can answer or reject calls which is very handy! I look at my watch to see who is calling before getting my phone out and I can "reject" the call from my watch. Very useful!!! The graphs showing heart rate and sleep are awesome and really what I was looking for. I am very happy for all that I got for the price!!!

This is a great all around fitness watch. Love the fact that it's GPS and HR capable. You can also connect a number of sensors plus the heart rate band. Tons of fitness features plus it has weather, you can read email and text from your phone, track dozens of different types of sports/activities. Just a really good purchase. Only recommendation is to make the housing out of metal. I think it would give the watch that ultra premium feel. Although I do understand why they used plastic. This watch is ultra light despite the size. You really don't notice it. But it would again give it that ultra quality and premium feel if it was gun black metal.

Synced with my phone right away. Love that it tracks numerous types of activities. Recently purchased a speed/cadence sensor for my indoor trainer and syncs with that as well.

I bought this mostly for the heart rate function, and it works pretty well for my resting heart rate but when I workout it isn’t always the most accurate

This was a gift for my spouse, who has had 3 other activity trackers. This Garmin smartwatch version has a lot of functions, and it has been helpful to have the printed manual (from online source). Initial set-up was quite easy, but she has been frustrated nearly every day with problems in registering data on it or via her I -phone and laptop. The Garmin device does seem to be more accurate in walking data than her other devices. The wrist band is much better than other devices, too.

This is a great watch to take with you on a run. No need for a phone anymore! It is extremely accurate and it syncs with my Nike+ app as well. All in all, it is a winner.
