I have had the Vivoactive HR for the past 6 months, so far is great, really good quality, I have used it on a daily basis.
The pro's
It really keeps track of all your activities, HR, steps, sleep, etc.
The garmin connect app is amazing, it gives you great insight.
I have used it for cycling, swimming, strength training, running (indoor and outdoor), golfing, indoor rowing. All have different metrics, which will be useful if you really like to track progress.
The battery does last for a week, unless you use the GPS a lot, but even though it's more than enough for everyone
It is resistant, I have had the usual accidents at the gym and so far is holding up really nice.
Cons,
The notifications can improve, sometimes they are missed in the watch, also the Calendar, weather, and Apps that need live connectivity tend to get disconnected.
If you look for something that will look nice and trendy as the apple watch, this is not for you, but I am almost sure the apple watch won't do half the things the Vivoactive does.
Best regards,

Garmin Vivoactive HR is a concept that beats apple watch hands down. It can do so much more for fitness tracking that apple watch doesn't even come close. If we are comparing "watches" then apple watch has a change but if you are comparing "fitness devices" then apple watch doesn't even compete.
Garmin Vivoactive HR has continuous heart rate monitoring. It's heart rate monitor is spot on, every accurate. It has ton of other features; once you use it will say how did I live without it.
But the user interface is terrible. I have owned my watch little over two months and it has crashed on me 4 times. By crashed I mean nothing... dead... It won't update my steps or heart rate not even time. Even after updating it over the computer it doesn't work. The only way to get it to work is to reset it that looses the data until then. So in short Garmin Vivoactive HR is a great concept but the execution could be far better.

I have had fit bits, vivofits, and now this fitness bracelet. It is the best because it does GPS, compass. links to email and text, weather, and all the usual steps, and health apps. It does built in heart rate monitoring. Finally, you can wear it in the pool or hot tub. This one does it all.

I got this watch during Black Friday sale and I must say I am very pleased with the performance of the watch. It's easy to set up and use. The battery lasts a week on regular use. The only con so far is that there is no activity tracker for sports like raquet ball or any other sports. Overall an excellent GPS watch.

Overall, two thumbs up. It does everything as advertised and the Garmin connect works easily. I had a Fitbit Surge and originally bought the Garmin because I can swim with it. The Garmin does everything the Fitbit did and more. The battery lasts longer and I like the color face. If I had to identify a short coming, I would say the design isn't the sexiest but I've been married for 18 years so no need to impress a one with my wrist bling!

I wanted a device that had GPS, heart rate (without a strap) and a robust battery in addition to the regular smart device features. This did not disappoint!
It also, allows me to set up remote tracking for someone else'should smart phone. That was Great for the Disney marathon!

Have been using Garmins for quiet sometime, for the most part I’ve loved their products including this one. As much as it is good, it still has a lot of room for improvement. The display can be improved both for visibility an usability, not sure if the new ones have better UI. Wish it had more integrations with other trackers, and have the ability to consolidate data. I have a Bowflex Max trainer machine that tracks my workout and it varies with Garmin data I would love to see Bowflex data in Garmin and have the ability to choose one over the other. Battery life seems decent for the amount tracking it does, also I shower with it everyday, though I’m yet to take a swim with it. I was apprehensive at first wearing a tracker all the time, but after wearing it for more than a week, I seem to like wearing it. I think seeing the data can motivate you to exercise and also the stylish looks seems to convince me to wear it every day, all day. So at this time i plan to continue using it, only time will tell if I like to and want to wear and track every single day.

I agree with others, watch appears a bit large on your wrist. Enjoy not having to charge watch daily like other activity watches. Activity tracker is pretty accurate for steps, heart rate, etc. Syncs with Bluetooth cell phones. Not flashy like others, but reliable like Garmin other products and well made.

I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive HR eight months ago and I have been very happy with my purchase. This watch is awesome. I used to be a Fitbit fan but I replaced several fitbits over time because of band issues or battery issues. I have not had any problems with the band on my vivoactive hr. With everyday wear and normal use, I’m getting roughly around 8-9 days out of a fully charged battery.

I bought it on thanksgiving sale, so far i liked it. This watch is very useful who want to track their workouts and review it later. Battery on this watch is great , it lasts for up-to 5 days. Display on this watch is barely visible at nights , i had to increase the brightness levels from Settings.

I purchased this item on Black Friday for a very good price. So far I am enjoying it and it offers good features. The best one is the ability to track my routes with the GPS feature. This product is easy to use and even the least tech savvy person can get started with it fast. Enjoying my purchase!

So far this watch has been better pretty sweet. Love all the sports you can track. I manly use it for running and walking. Pretty accurate, GPS is great at tracking. Compared it to mapmyrun on my phone, they were pretty close in distance ran. Love being able to see messages and other notifications right there on my wrist. I don't have to pick up my phone every time it goes off.
Battery lasts more than a week if you don't use the GPS. It doesn't take long to charge though. Wish it wasn't so bulky but overall am very pleased. I would definitely by again.

Heart Rate and distance stats are very accurate as verified by other devices. Battery life quite good without much use of GPS functions.
Only complaint is display is quite dim in daylight outdoors.Regular band was too small for my wrist although other reviews said it would fit most people.

Purchased this for my husband, the triathlete. He has had quite a few of the older Garmin units and we were very excited for many of the upgrades on this one. First, no heart rate strap! Yay, nothing constricting around the chest, how smart! Second, it actually tracks your swim. The last version seemed to get very confused in the pool. He didn't think he would really care about the integrated, phone, text, email options. He was wrong. He finds those very useful. When you have a busy job or spend lots of time in meetings, looking at your wrist instead of having your phone out is both easier & much more appropriate. He also raves about the battery life. Usually 4-5 days before recharging. Overall, he says this is one of his favorite gifts. I did my research between all the other brands and at the time (June 2016) this was the best option for the price!

It takes some time to learn the functionality. I mainly bought the watch for the GPS, which gives me a more accurate reading of the distances I run and walk. My first watch of this caliber. It's kind of hard to compare it anything else. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

I walked into Best buy looking for the best watch that:
1) waterproof - it's waterproof up to 50 meters (164 ft)
2) has a minimum of 5 full day uses before charging (it's 6-7 days)
3) heart rate monitor - it does
4) can add apps - i can
